By in United Kingdom,

I stayed up to get Spidey final battle but it's still showing as 'Coming soon' currently. Hmmm.

(Showed up around 12:15am I think. They made us sweat a bit there!)

I was just thinking I'm sure it has been on a shelf for a month or more

Shame. Several sets, new and older, that I would have ordered, but not with the current very poor GWPs, VIP rewards and offers. The wait continues!

By in United States,

I found some of these sets on the shelf at a local Meijer store and picked up 76993, but the cashier wouldn't let me buy it because there was a message that said that they weren't available until August 1st. Kinda bummed, but I know that I'll have it soon enough.

Oh, shoot. The Star Wars calendar *is* out.

By in United States,

Just ordered a large parts order and picked up the Summer 12 in 1 as well as Emma's magic box. While I agree that the GWP isn't a show stopper, it's one of the few GWP that actually are attainable for me.

By in Australia,

I've already got all the Sonic sets about a week ago. Phenominal minifigs and surprisingly good builds!

By in Belgium,

TBH there's really nothing to encourage me to by new sets at full price… I wonder when 40594 Houses of the World 3 will be offered…

Know my local Smyths isn't happy as half their lego shelves are empty as they haven't gotten their sets delivered yet. Were meant to be in yesturday so stuff would be on shelves this morning at opening time.

Support your local Indy stores! Our shelves are nice and full, we have also discounted the larger (some may say overpriced) sets. Once these have gone we won't have them again!

If we had a local indy store near me, I would. Only got the big commercial places like Smyths and argos etc that sell here.

Would love to,
if I knew of any near me...

What's the best way to find them?

Go to the Toymaster website, they list shops who are members, the majority of those sell Lego. They are still independent and generally (like us) don't advertise they are Toymaster members. Or go to lovely Bakewell, enjoy a tart or two, and pop in and see us!

@paulrothwell, I'll happily give your shop a plug if you send me some details.

Doesn't look like there are any nearby where I am unfortunately.

Thanks anyway.

Yeah, easy pass for me when there aren’t any cool promos. Makes sense you don’t have promos day one though. All the impatient people with no budget will still buy day one so why give them something free.

The funny thing is that if GWPs didn't exist at all then I'd buy Lego exclusive sets that I liked on day 1. Because they do, I wait for a good one. So for me, ironically, GWPs don't increase sales, they delay them!

Presumably that's not how it works for a significant number of other buyers otherwise Lego wouldn't use it as a standard, obviously successful, marketing practice.

By in United Kingdom,

My LEGO Store was completely quiet today here in Brighton, 7 people in the queue. Nobody went towards the Sonic, Mario, Dreamz and Star Wars was barely touched, it was me and another person that picked up Star Wars sets, I brought the Yavin 4 Rebel base and the 332nd BP. Maybe they’re saving their money for September 1st.

I was also gifted with purchase a Flower Pot 40588 and Fun Creativity 12-in-1 40593 with my order so that was cool.

Marvel stole the show, it was The Amazing Spider-Man and Final Battle that was popular

By in Poland,

I built the Himeji castle. Most enjoyable build in years. Looks great from all angles. And (excluding the trees at the end) 0 repetitiveness.

It still has nothing on the mini Taj Mahal's floor. 2x3 tile - do a 2-color grid from 6 plates X 99 TIMES.
