Bricklist notes
This is my first officially released LEGO set: Ahsoka's Jedi Interceptor as seen in Clone Wars Season 5, Episode 17, “Sabotage”.

This set was designed to fit with the scale of our existing Jedi Interceptors. I was given a concept model built by one of our fellow designers, but I started my design process by going back to study our most recent Interceptor – Anakin’s 75281 from 2020, and worked my way up from there.
The brief was to design Ahsoka’s Interceptor at the same scale, and to use the brand new cockpit element.

I really wanted to do justice to the reference, so I studied it in each shot and did my best to capture the form while also making the build as sturdy and “swooshable” as possible, locking everything down to keep it nice and strong.

I think my favourite part of the design process was working out the brick-built pattern on the wings. Of course, this meant a lot of iterations and I’m sure I ended up with about a dozen versions of the model in various states of completion while working out how to balance the colour scheme, the shaping and proportions, and the strength of the build to end up with a result that did all of those things well. Of course, changing one of these has a knock-on effect on the others, which requires more tweaks and checks to make sure everything still works.

I would like to thank my teammates in the LEGO Star Wars and broader LEGO design team for their work and support during this design process: my awesome mentor César Soares, our talented graphic designers, element designers, building instructions designers, box art designers, and many more!

"You need a teacher. I can show you the ways of the Force." - Kylo Ren, Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

This set is Kylo Ren’s helmet as seen in The Force Awakens, prior to it becoming smashed in the Last Jedi. I was given a concept model made by one of our colleagues - which was undersized, so I decided that there wouldn’t be much value in using it as a starting point. Instead, I started by studying techniques used in Darth Vader’s, Captain Rex’s, and the Dark Trooper helmets as more recent or more similar examples.
From these, I extrapolated the scale of the dome of the head from brow to the back of the head, and across the temples. With more of a cranium-shape, Kylo Ren’s helmet is not quite as round or bulky as some of the other helmets in the Star Wars galaxy, and it is smaller by comparison, since the back is fairly short.

The helmet collection uses a common base design and scale, so this was the obvious starting point. From there I got to sculpting around the face, as this is the focal area of the helmet, and would be the most critical to get right. This was an interesting sculpting challenge.
I started with the plate over the mouth and nose, and worked my way up into the eye area and around the head from there. The first few iterations around the mouth plate were just too long, and didn’t look accurate to our reference images.

I also mocked up a brick-built section of the silver pattern on Kylo Ren’s face, but the build ended up far too chunky and would not have worked with the scale of our helmets. We very quickly came to the agreement that this fairly organic pattern had to be decorated. Because of how continuous we needed the silver pattern to be across multiple sections and with minimal gaps in order to do his face justice, we motivated to have all the silver decorations printed.

Once the important sections were all positioned properly, I worked my way inward to the core that supports everything, and then back out to refine it all. I go through this iterative process over and over again until all the sections are working in harmony with minimal compromises.

Overall, this was a very satisfying model to design, and I really like how it turned out.
As usual, thanks to all the other team members who worked with me to bring this model to life.
Graphic design, building instruction design, box art design and our amazing lead and marketing teams (and more).

This is the microfighter of Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter, as seen in The Clone Wars.

This was a fun little set to design, and was another case - similar to my first, which required a surprising amount of iteration to capture Plo Koon's iconic blue and white ship livery in brick-built fashion. I'm pleased with how this little build turned out, not least thanks to the amazing new head mould designed by our fantastic element designers!

As always, I couldn't have achieved any of this without the other crucial team members that I work with: my mentor, leaders, model design colleagues, administrators, graphic design colleagues, element designers, building instructions designers, box art designers and many more!

From the upcoming second season of LEGO® Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy™ - Pieces of the Past, I'm pleased to announce the LEGO Star Wars Force Burner Snowspeeder. This is the fourth LEGO Star Wars set to hit the shelves that I've had the privilege of working on in the role of model designer.

The development of this playset was very much a team effort between multiple designers before me, who each added to the set in their own ways before passing it my way to add the finishing touches and finalise structural and aesthetic features.

The speeder bike still required an overhaul to resolve some stability challenges, the STAP needed to be customised to fit a minifigure, and I worked to finalise and strengthen the structure inside the fuselage and wings of the speeder and the stability of the connection between the two. The very small scale of the STAP and the speeder bike presented a shaping challenge to maintain proportions without losing strength.

With its very different flame colour scheme and decals, and its amazing minifigures, this was a really fun and different playset for our team to work on and I hope it brings a lot of joy to kids young and old who build and play with it.
And with this, we're also pleased to bring you a brand new, dual-moulded windscreen!

As always, thanks to all the other team players in the LEGO Star Wars Design, Marketing, Leadership and Production teams (and any others who slip my mind at the moment). Thank you also to the Rebuild the Galaxy™ production team for their collaboration, and last, but not least, thank you to my fellow model designer, and long-time LEGO Blacktron fan, Blair Archer for requesting and ensuring that the new windscreen would indeed be produced in its distinctive black and yellow colour scheme.

Look out for LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy - Pieces of the Past on Disney Plus on the 19th of September 2025. And if you haven't seen it yet, catch Season 1 of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy on Disney Plus now!

Announcing the fifth set that I've worked on as a model designer in the LEGO Star Wars Design team: 75448 Clone Shock Trooper Mech.

Based on the elite phase two clone troops as seen in the Clone Wars, these soldiers formed the backbone of the diplomatic guard and peacekeeping efforts on Coruscant.
With his distinctive red and white armour and his very long DC-15A blaster rifle, this Shock Trooper is ready to climb into his mech and battle it out with (or back up) the other characters in your Star Wars mech collection! And while the trooper is piloting the mech, sling his own rifle onto the mech's back, ready to be grabbed when needed.

This was a fun little build to design, and I worked to translate into mech form the details of the armour and colour scheme that makes a Shock Trooper so distinctive: the smooth red boots and white knee pads, the striped thighs, red belt and red shoulder pads, with black joints visible between. The long rifle with stud shooter is a very exciting feature for kids.
The mech has one printed piece: the 2x2 printed tile which adds detailing of the breastplate. The new 2x2 corner bow element is produced here for the first time in red.

I hope the young and young at heart have fun with this quick build and enjoy many hours of play, coming to you from 1 January 2026.

As always, thanks go to the many other members of the design, development, planning, production, packaging, distribution, marketing and other teams who make such a product possible by doing all of the other things that are way beyond me. Well done team!

Coming in March 2026, Luke’s Landspeeder is part of the exciting new LEGO® Smart Play™ assortment. As a Smart Play compatible set, this model does not include the Smart Brick™ or wireless charger, but it includes an interactive Luke Skywalker minifigure and a Smart tile, ready to add additional play features if a Smart Brick is included.

This model started out with strong input from various designers, before being assigned to myself to mature and finalise the design. The development team included professionals from various disciplines; model designers, graphic designers, element designers, building experience designers, packaging designers and model coaches as usual, but in this case also interaction designers and sound designers, and many more people who have been involved in the development of the Smart Play technology.

The focus of this model design was very much on providing the best possible build and play experience for a younger child, especially since this model is intended for builders 6 years and up.
With easy-to-identify hotspots and easy access for the Smart Brick and the interactive features, the intention was to minimize any confusion or frustration for young children, and to facilitate easy swapping of Smart Bricks and figures between models. This model includes 6 printed pieces, and no stickers.

Luke’s Landspeeder, along with the other models in the assortment, were extensively tested by children, which helped the team to refine and improve the model concepts along the way.
Children are clearly excited by the Smart features added to these models, and they have been designed with strength in mind to withstand very animated play. This involved a fair amount of iteration during the design process to ensure the final build would be strong, while offering a positive and fun building experience.

Along with Luke’s Landspeeder and the interactive Luke Skywalker minifigure; this set includes a standard minifigure Jawa and a new brick-built gonk droid to accompany it as they run a tattooine-inspired service station ready to help Luke repair and refuel the speeder, and possibly also refuel Luke himself with a tasty snack. Minifigure accessories have been included to encourage imaginative roleplay.

In addition to various colour changed and printed pieces, this model includes a number of new bricks:
a 5x8 curved plate, a new bi-directional bracket, a large new seat, and a brand new red paddle piece with a cross axle to facilitate triggering of the new LEGO Smart Brick.

I hope this set brings hours of joy to the Star Wars fans, and to the young at heart.
As always, thank you to the many people who worked with me to make this model possible.

Look out for the LEGO® Smart Play™ sets coming soon to stores across the USA, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland and Australia.

This 7+ LEGO Star Wars set brings you exciting imaginative play involving an Imperial Remnant AT-RT and a defensive turret on a cold, icy planet, inspired by the upcoming theatrical film, The Mandalorian and Grogu.

The AT-RT build was first inspired by our most recent one found in 75431: 327th Star Corps Clone Troopers Battle Pack, which I then modified to fit the reference images we received from Lucasfilm. As there is a lot of desire among LEGO Star Wars fans for AT-RTs to be smaller and closer to minfigure scale; I spent a fair amount of time rebuilding the legs to have a slightly more squat position, while also allowing for plenty of posability and roleplay. The body and overall scale of the AT-RT has been kept the same as before, in order to keep the level of stability, buildability and detail that we wanted from this model.

I spent plenty of time studying every position, angle and detail of the two builds that we could see in the reference images from Lucasfilm. As this AT-RT had to accommodate Grogu on the dashboard, and based on images of the film prop, the front end had to be rebuilt substantially. I also explored many iterations of the rear to integrate the detailing and accessories on the back of the vehicle.

The turret was also a fun model to design, as it gave us the opportunity to include an interior for extra play value. The initial concept was to make the inside a break room with a seat and a coffee table complete with a red mug, but this soon turned into a mini armoury with space to store weapons, spare 1x1 round plates for the four stud shooters, and the interchangeable dashboard slope for the AT-RT (for when Grogu isn’t hanging out in front). The top of the turret is an especially fun build, with a 45º rotated build on the upper platform and a swivelling function for defensive action play. At the base of the turret, two knobs allow for easy opening of the build and act as a visual cue of the opening function.

The model includes a sticker sheet and three new parts: a 2x4 curved plate, a brand new body for Grogu, and a new white Imperial Remnant AT-RT driver helmet, as seen in The Mandalorian and Grogu, coming to theatres on 22 May 2026.

This model offers plenty of fun building and play for Star Wars fans of all ages.

As always, thanks to all of the team members in the many roles that have contributed to the development of this fun play set!

From the upcoming theatrical film The Mandalorian and Grogu, I'm proud to bring you the latest addition to our Helmet Collection; the Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver.

This model was ultimately a very rewarding build, and allowed me to capture the high levels of detail and accuracy that I find so satisfying - but it didn't come without its challenges.
As usual, my design process started at the front, as this is the focal area of a helmet. The mouth and chin area were the easy part, but transitioning that up to the visor with its unusual detailing under the eyes, became the focus of countless iterations and detail builds that cluttered my desk. Ultimately, the biggest sculpting challenge was to build the smooth transition from the jaw panels to the side skirts, and closing any gaps that appeared around this build.

To add the smaller cosmetic details of the oxygen scrubbers, we've included a small transparent sticker sheet. While this means you'll have to be a bit more careful to avoid getting dust or hairs on the sticker; the added bonus of the transparent sticker sheet is that you could *potentially* use it on any other colour variation of this helmet...
A fair number of tan plates have also been included inside the build... ;)

The model includes a white version of the fairly new 1x3 cheese slope.
The helmet build ends satisfyingly by slotting the forehead shield, as a partially inverted build, onto the front of the helmet.

I hope you enjoy this build as much as I do, and that it will make a fine addition to your collection.

Thank you to my colleague Niels Bundesen for allowing me to sidetrack him every time I wanted an opinion, and for helping me with the rear detailing and rear skirt blending.

And as usual, thank you to all the other model designers who helped with their thoughts and advice, and to all of the other members of our large team who work to make each of our products a reality.

This is the way.
