LEGO has just published images of the 16 Simpsons Collectable minifigs on Facebook.

The figures are Chief Wiggum, Scratchy, Ralph Wiggum, Nelson Muntz, Marge Simpson, Milhouse, Maggie Simpson, Lisa Simpson, Krusty the Clown, Itchy, Homer Simpson, Grampa, Ned Flanders, Mr. Burns, Bart Simpson and Apu Nahasapeemapetilon.

I don't know how this list compares with earlier rumours, I didn't pay much attention to them.

Thanks to Christian for the news.

By in Belgium,

Those are awesome. I gave up on CMF but I'm definitely grabbing these.

Gravatar
By in Philippines,

Amma gonna complete 'em...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Talk about creepy... first series I won't try to get all of.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Think that burns has the best accessories, but Maggie having Bobo is awesome too!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

@Psymon

The characters who come in the house are slightly different:

Marge and Ned have aprons in the house set, and Marge has different eye printing.
Lisa, Bart and Maggie all have different eyes in the house set.
Homer has his tie and nametag in the house set, and different eyes.

I like most of these - not sure that we really needed a Ralph though, that spot could have been taken by someone more important like Principal Skinner or Mrs Krabapple, perhaps. Oh well, they're all good minifigs, hopefully some other characters will turn up later if they decide to do a full-blown "The Simpsons" theme. It seems like the house was a successful set (it's been sold out quite frequently on LEGO.com since it was released), and I definitely think there are enough buyers/fans to make it successful. A school, power plant, Kwik-E-Mart would all be nice sets!

By in Germany,

I like the Simpsons but I'm not a huge Simpsons fan and I like all 16 minifigures, especially all their detailed accessories.
I'm gonna buy them all and then maybe the Simpsons House!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Albus and @Psymon
I'm still speculating that characters like Skinner, Smithers, Lenny and Karl are being reserved for the possibility of future sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

As per an earlier comment some of the heads do look a little creepy when compared to the warm and friendly heads of standard minifigs. That said I'll be adding them to CMF collection for sure!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The short-sleeve arms are nice-to-haves, as are the donut, remote control, Biclops comic and the worn teddy-bear. The rest? Nope, sorry, I just think this is a wholly inapropriate license for LEGO's values. I've got all the minifigs up until now, but will be giving this round a miss.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

I don't understand why you'd want a biclops comic if you dislike The Simpsons...It's directly from one of the classic episodes.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Also I don't see how the Simpsons is any less appropriate than Marvel Superheroes, just about all of the films have had a 12 rating in the UK (can't speak for America) and I know I've been watching the Simpsons as long as I can remember - certainly at least since the age of 5 when it was being televised pre watershed.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I would like to thank Lego for making it very easy for me to bring an end to my CMF completism.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

My first impressions:

Bart Simpson has a printed skateboard with lighter coloured wheels. Lego, why make it a sticker in the Simpsons House?

WHAT! Maggie Simpson will cost us £2.49, well and a teddy bear. 83p per piece, well expensive, couldn't you have given Maggie with Marge?

OMG, they gave us the TV in the Simpsons house and the TV remote in the collectible minifigures-WHY! Damn, I want more doughnuts!

Overall, I like the series however I feel the could have given each character two accessories, due to the figure being plain which they are meant to be. Lego should have given us the normal eyed characters in the Simpsons house and changed the character clothing for some of them like Bartman. Lego could have given us Santa's little helper or snowball with two of the Simpsons family members.

I like that they are continuing the jokes and little nods from the Simpsons house like "Property of Ned Flanders" or giving us more comics.

Now hoping for more Lego Simpsons sets like: The Android's Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop, Monorail, Bart's tree house, Lard Lad Donuts, Springfield Elementary School and the list goes on...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I'm interested in Itchy and Scratchy, because they don't necessarily compete with the average LEGO man design-wise, as well as Milhouse, because he's a MasterBuilder. Other than that I will be taking a powder on this set.

Gravatar
By in Taiwan,

Well even though I like Simpsons a lot, there are three good reasons almost preventing me from getting this series.

1) No seperate new hairstyle pieces.
2) All characters from the D2C house sets are reused. Though some said that not all KFOLs afford the large set, there are no medium sets either.
3) The roster besides the Simpsons is not appealing enough, especially no new female characters introduced like the aunts.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Does Lego have Direct Deposit? I want my paychecks deposited straight to their bank account, and they just ship me all the sets and minifigs I want. lol

Gravatar
By in United States,

Finally! I'm loving all of these, this will be the first CMF set of which I collect 100%.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I will be getting all of these, but no extras. While the leg an arm printing is nice I can't see spending $3.99 for 2 -3 parts that can be used for custom figures.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Sad thing there are no Carl, Lenny or Smithers but the Mr. Burns Figure will fit great into my version of the Nuclear Power Plant I posted on Cuusoo for voting to become a real set. Check it out if you like: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/59799

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm generally unthrilled about the molded heads on these. OTOH, having them as CMFs makes it possible for me to get the main family without having to shell out for the big set.

Now, if they were to do a DC heroes CMF line, followed by a Marvel heroes CMF line, wow, sign me up for something like that!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have never collected these Collectible Minifigs. How does this work if I want all of these....Will there be a "set" to purchase containing all of them? Or do I have to get them exclusive type "free" when placing an order on Lego? What is the method of acquiring these minifigs?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Some good accessories with them!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

@Bruce_n_nh, I was hoping Lego would do collectable minifigs for super heroes as well but other Brickset users mentioned that this could be seen competition with Action Figures and might result in lawsuits by other toy companies; but we can always hope.

@Deyorew to get a complete set you have to go to your local lego seller and look for a box of collectable minifigures and do one of the following. Buy the box of 60 and sell your duplicates on bricklink/ebay. Look for someone on bricklink/ebay who is selling completes sets at reasonable price (not much markup). Rumage through a box and feel a package till you identitfy whos in side and repeate until you have all 16. Some say you can still use a dot method to identify who's inside (worked for the first few series) but I don't find its a guarantee. Feel method is best as long as the store or you don't mind handling the merchandise.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Deyorew - they come in small individual packages, but they're blind-packaged, so you don't know which figure is in it just by looking. If you can handle them in person at a retailer you can usually feel around the package and figure out who is inside based on the pieces you feel. If you order online it'll be completely random, unless you order them from a secondary retailer that already knows what's inside. You usually can't order just a set of the 16 straight out, but some retailers let you order a case/box of 60 and typically each box has 2 or 3 complete sets of all 16 figures (it's only 2-3 complete sets because the figures are not evenly distributed in a box; there will be 2 per box of one fig and 6 per box of another).

Gravatar
By in Norway,

OMG! I love these! Love Lego, love the Simpsons. What a perfect match! Highly collectable and a great addition to the CMFs line. Just hope its not the last. Probably it will cost 30 NOK (3.10 GBP) each here in Norway but thats all fine, they`re worth every "pence/penny".

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is this the next series of CMF?!?!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looking at the CMFs it seems that the Feel method will be super easy this go around.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^I was thinking that too but Ralph and milhouse might be tough because only the head is different.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I haven't really watched The Simpsons in years so I'd feel off investing in this wave… but I think I may have to bank a Ralph Wiggum for next year's Valentine's Day.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These are amazing!!!! A total MUST BUY for me.
I was really excited for the Simpson's House set but didn't buy it because I had some issues with the minifigure design; squinty eyes and Homer, Marge & Ned all wearing 'secondary' costumes (aprons and work shirt).
With these CMFs, LEGO have addressed all those issues; everyone is wide awake with no squinting and Homer, Marge and Ned are all in their primary costumes.
There are so many Simpsons characters that could be done as CMFs, so I hope that these sell well enough to generate a Series 2. I'll certainly be getting all these as early as I can.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As others have said, I would strongly consider a CMF line for super heroes, but nothing about the Simpsons LEGO is enticing for me. The minifig proportions, which seem fun on superheroes, just seem creepy and ugly on the Simpsons. I'm not sure why this is since the Simpsons is already cartoony. Then again, I've not been a fan of SpongeBob and many other LEGO adaptations of cartoons (including the underwhelming Avatar).

Gravatar
By in Canada,

@rprebel: I don't get the comparison to LEGO Friends. The molded heads for these figs serve a completely different purpose from the molded heads for those figs: the Simpsons heads are molded to look more exaggerated and cartoony, while the Friends figs are molded in order to look more realistic. In any case, I've seen some custom Simpsons figures without molded heads and have generally not been impressed. Things like Homer's bulging, apelike mouth and Bart's overbite don't translate well to a flat print on a cylindrical part. I agree that there is no real use for the head parts outside of this theme, but that's the way it goes, I guess.

Overall, I have no interest in this series, since I've never been a fan of The Simpsons. It's not that I think I wouldn't like it; I just grew up without it and have no real interest in getting into it. Pretty much the only time I watch sitcoms is when I'm with my parents, and they don't watch The Simpsons, so here you are and there you go.

None of the parts are "must-haves" for me either, but there are some tasteful recolors and repaints that some builders might like for variety's sake: the baseball bat in Dark Orange instead of Medium Nougat, the axe with a Dark Orange handle instead of a Reddish Brown one, the cream pie with Cool Yellow cream instead of White, and the short sleeves in colors like Nougat (Bricklink's Flesh), Lavender, and Light Purple (Bricklink's Bright Pink). Plus lots of generic sorts of clothes that help make up for the specialized character heads.

Overall, the design quality bodes well for future Minifigures series, and I look forward to seeing more shorts and short sleeves in future sets. Those are, for me the biggest innovation the Simpsons sets bring.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

They look fantastic, and they'll get a whole new crowd of people in CMFs, even if a lot of CMFers won't accept this as a proper series!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just realized Mr. Burns is holding a clear minifig head with printing...it's Blinky in a fish bowl. Uh-mazing. Getting them all. Makes me wonder if this was the driving force behind getting the Simpsons license for Lego all along.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Simpsons is a much more family orientated show than most "family" shows on TV/ABC Family, etc. It just got flak because when it came out, standards were quite different. Glad they made the figs. Pretty cool looking. I bet this will decrease the price you can get the 71006 figs for as well.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Itchy and Scratchy are a waste. They should have put in Moe, Smithers or at least my favorite, Grounds Keeper Willy. First CMF series that I pass on. The wife will be relieved!

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I bet there will be only two Maggies. And she is only one I wantto have for body. I'm sure we will get more doughnuts in future police sets.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

These look amazing again. When I bought the House, my wife and I made a list to "guess" what the figs would be in the CMF release. We were close - didn't guess Itchy or Scratchy, or Ralph & Nelson. The rest are here though. Would have liked to see Lenny and Carl as others have noted.

The small details are the best - and you wouldn't get them unless you watched the show. Like the fishbowl with Blinky and the Biclops comic. Also is Abe holding the newpaper with the "Old Man Yells at Cloud" headline?! Amazing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@suckerpunch:
"Also is Abe holding the newpaper with the "Old Man Yells at Cloud" headline?! Amazing."

Thanks, that just made my day. Also great to see Bobo with Maggie and Blinky with Mr Burns.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This was a mistake by LEGO. So they won't make military themes, or religious themes for fear of offending people, but the Simpsons are more offensive and just as violent. Not a fit for the 'Kid's brand!'

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Awesome figures, though I would have loved to see Hans Moleman,Moe and Sideshow Bob! This is a must have for every character in this series :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

Was hoping for a groundskeeper willie, a comic book guy and alien from tree house of terror.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

They actually have Itchy and Scratchy minifigures? From the episodes I've seen (90s-early2000s) these were two immature cartoon animals hellbent on disembowelling each other.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Ypres You got it, that's exactly what the two characters have been for 25 years. If you'd like to file a complaint for the appropriateness for children, perhaps you can find a time machine willing to take you back to 1990 to join in with a bunch of disgusted mothers ;)

These are absolutely amazing, I am very impressed.

2 questions, though:

1. Are the short sleeve and short pants pieces molded or printed? I'm hoping molded, but with CMFs, anything's possible

2. What piece is the Blinky printed on in Mr. Burns' hand? I can't figure it out.

I gotta say, they did a great job on all the little extras on these. My favorite has to be Ralph's valentine. Classy move, Lego.

Gravatar
By in United States,

*sigh* I personally feel LEGO has finally jumped the shark with the Simpsons license and will finally skip a CMF series for the first time.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Mr. Burns torso = Purist Batman Riddler torso!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll pass. Not a Simpsons fan, and I'm not attracted to ANY of these figures, sadly.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll be saving $64 plus tax and a ton on time poking for these lacking mini figures. Best part is freak fish.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I'm stunned they released Itchy and Scratchy minifigs. I mean, wow.

I don't like the Simpsons, so I'll probably just pass on these, which will save me a lot of money, so I'm quite happy either way.

Gravatar
By in United States,

$4 plus sales tax a pop for The Simpsons? Nope, ain't gonna do it. I have all the CMFs (except the GB Olympic ones) but that stops here. Joe

Gravatar
By in United States,

How will poor mr. Burns get through his days without Smithers....

Gravatar
By in United States,

..

That space above was my mind blowing up. Lego, bravo. And thanks for reading reader.
MY OPINION! :
Grandpa's paper "Old man yells at cloud", Blinky, and that donut, love it, won't be able to get enough.
For me, I wasn't sure about Mr.Burns, Itchy, and Scratchy but I like them.

Would've liked to have seen Skinner, Willie, and Sideshow Bob, and I would've traded the Wiggums and Ned (Can't I buy a $200 dollar set these days and have it come with an exclusive figure?!) for them, but.

They sadly couldn't and can't make Moe, Lenny, Karl, or that drunk fat guy (Can't remember the name) cause they're Homer's drinking buddies, and from the comments I've read, people are already mad about Itchy, Scratchy, and Lego The Simpsons all together.

So in conclusion, excellent, and for you, the reader that has kindly read this comment stating my own opinion , a tip:
Be yourself, unless you can be a mythical being, in which case, by all means be a mythical being.

Thank you and have a safe trip home.
And for Hew, if you're reading this: Hi, how's it going?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

They look excellent to me, first set I'll be buying! Ralph is a great character but I'm fairly sure there will be a second wave and quite difficult to pin it down to the 16 top characters.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Shark = jumped, but at least there are some cool accessories, and maybe I will get Itchy and Scratchy heads to customize as new Chima tribes.

Considering what they must have invested in all those molds, TLG must be confident these will sell big. Hopefully they flop and discourage them from further forays in this direction.

Gravatar
By in Malaysia,

There's no need to worry about missing character, there's bound to be a 2nd series

Gravatar
By in United States,

Woooo Hoooo!!! And THERE are Lisa's sax and Homer's donut!

Gravatar
By in France,

I think those items are simply stupid: it does not fit with the LEGO spirit ! I respect people who enjoy simpsons but how can we dare to match it with LEGO toys ?
I'm really disapointed, i was looking forward to discover a new minifig serie, with new funny and unusual minifigs as they do for the previous 11st series ( to my mind, the 12th is an exception: too ridiculous for most of items!), and what will it release ? A simpson serie ! On the contrary, they should do a STAR WARS serie which would be much better, that i'm sure most of us would enjoy it more than a SIMPSONS serie! Doesn't it !?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

*barfs into bucket*

Gravatar
By in Canada,

@wunztwice: depends what you mean by "offensive". People have died from being in the military. Nobody (to my knowledge) has died from watching The Simpsons. Obviously people who have lost a family member in a war have good reason to be offended by toys that glorify military activity.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am not the biggest Simpsons fan but I hope they decide to do this with more of the licensed sets, I can imagine LOTR or Star Wars or even Harry Potter would do crazy well in these formats.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Boring..... A pass for me!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@deadcrabpuff I really hope they will do that for at least retired themes and figures. Harry Potter minifigs and sets are so inflated after just having been available only a few years ago, it's insulting. Star Wars is harder to justify since it is still going so strong, but maybe LOTR as it peters off.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

Quentin: Number one, Star Wars collectable minifigures are not allowed by LEGO's licence. Number two, I don't see how The Simpsons is less funny or unusual than Star Wars...

Gravatar
By in United States,

@reactivated nerd
I think the problem with that concept is that the Simpsons dont look right when you view them straight-on. They say on the DVD commentary that they always show them in profile or 3/4 view. Imagine printed noses and overbites, coming straight at you? It wouldnt look correct.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't really think Simpsons is a good theme for kids. I mean come on! No more collectible minifigs for the summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well I thought I would not like these, but I want them all, now, preferably in duplicate.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ wunztwice so Marvel and DC sets based on movies with violent moments are okay, but not The Simpsons?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

@wuntwice - and don't forget the drunk Captain Jack Sparrow from POTC!

I can't believe the amount of people that want Lego to fail & lose money because of the Simpsons line. TLG is trying something different and it's selling. We should be praising that! I was in a Lego Store last week and the manager said he couldn't keep The Simpsons House on the shelf! I saw one sell when I was there for 10 minutes.

I'm not a fan of the Star Wars theme one bit - but I certainly don't want TLG to stop making it because I don't like it.......

Gravatar
By in United States,

Meh, I didn't want to buy any of these but I'll probably buy Bart and Homer for the parts - especially those short-sleeves.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Deyorew - Best solution is to go to a Lego Store and feel out obvious figures, such as Marge (hair) or Bart (skateboard). Do this with as many as you can, then go to Bricklink to get the rest of the figures you want... when you do that make sure it says they come with all original accessories.

As for the merits of the Simpsons, I liked the Simpsons back in the 90's... but anything that helps Lego make $$$ i'm all for. I also like that they have all the major characters in minifig form, mainly because I would be more interested in the figures than in the actual sets. I'll definitely go for the family. They'll look great on my Death Star or in the winter village sets. I just wish they made Moe and Barney. Maybe a Moe's bar set is forthcoming?

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

The argument about the Simpsons being too adult-orientated for a Lego audience completely baffles the hell outta me. Are people completely blind to all the weapons and violence in TLG's current and past themes or is it the humour that makes the Simpsons inappropriate?

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

This is literally the first minifig series where NONE of the figures are even slightly interesting. But I concratulate the many sims.fans who will get out of their DARKAGE because of this :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Okay, at this point, I'm over LEGO doing "The Simpsons" sets. I suppose that show is tamer than a lot of other animated sitcoms, at least according to the comments here.

That said, I'm not particularly excited about this. I didn't like it when I first heard the news that the CMFs were going to be Simpsons-based, and I don't really like it now either. If you'll allow me to be overly opinionated, I prefered when the CMFs were normal minifigs that could fit in pretty much any scenario, not overly-specialized ones with bizzarely-shaped heads. :P

It's just that I don't like seeing normal CMFs shelved in favor of licensed themes. For that matter, I wasn't very enamored with the LEGO Movie series; it seemed like half of the minifigs were variants on the same robot. :P So... yeah, 0 for 2 out of the past two CMF series for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ reactivated nerd
Haha to each his own but I'd say those BLOCKO figures support my argument more than yours :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These look ugly and they're heads are too big. *throws up*:P

Gravatar
By in United States,

The question is...when are they gonna' do a Futurama set of figs?

Figs look great. My son and I are looking forward to this and doing some stop motion, especially with Itchy and Scratchy.
Would love to see a Treehouse of Terror line aroud Halloween.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

When will they do a pot belly vest piece? Chief Wiggum looks wrong being "thin". The same would go if they did Comic Book Guy (can imagine him saying Worst Minifig Ever!). They needed a fat belly piece for the sumo wrestler from CMF S3. I can't see why they couldn't do one, or is it un-PC?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm looking to get the figures with the red and white short-sleeved arms. No idea their names; I don't care for Simpsons. I don't know what I'll do with the heads though...

Gravatar
By in United States,

The figures ended up looking better than expected. Still not really my thing, although I am happy for the Simpsons fans. Now if they were to do a Futurama CMF series, I'm all in in multiples.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Never ever been a fan of the Simpsons but I'm sure these look good for those that are. I'm just glad I've finally found a series of minifigs I don't want any of. It makes collecting all the mixels I want much more affordable.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^^ Think of a funny vignnette to use it in where the character is in an odd situation, or sell them on bricklink.
