LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean has finally returned with 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship, now available for Insiders members on LEGO.com.
The set costs £299.99 / $379.99 / €349.99 - with 2,862 pieces and eight minifigures - and depicts, well, Captain Jack Sparrow's pirate ship… or the Black Pearl, if you want to be precise!
If you purchase the set by September 18th, you'll receive 5009609 Captain Jack Sparrow's Compass as a gift-with-purchase. In addition, you'll automatically qualify for 40769 SEGA Genesis Controller, as well.
Today's random set is 60095 Deep Sea Exploration Vessel, released during 2015. It's one of 41 City sets produced that year. It contains 717 pieces and 7 minifigs, and its retail price was US$119.99/£79.99.
It's owned by 6,260 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $167.20, or eBay.
Today's random minifigure is cty0812Coast Guard City - Female Raft Pilot, a Town figure that came in one set, 60165 4 x 4 Response Unit , released during 2017.
Our members collectively own a total of 3,784 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $2.30.
Another pocket money set in the second wave of Friends is 42658 Unicorn & Flamingo Pool Party. While this small set doesn't have a light brick, it does include Leo's pet (and fan favourite) Churro, so perhaps it all balances out.
75419 Death Star includes 38 minifigures, more than any previous LEGO set. The selection looks superb on the whole, populating the Death Star quite well and providing several new characters too. Additionally, some familiar characters have received updates.
Unfortunately, there are issues with certain figures, several of which are rather conspicuous, such as a lack of dual-moulded legs. That is certainly frustrating in the most expensive LEGO set ever produced, though there is still much to appreciate about the minifigures.
To tide gaming fans over while they eagerly await the launch of 72046 Game Boy, this Sega-related brick-built accessory spin dashes in as a gift with purchase. This time, we’re invited to revel in another chapter of video game history. The jump from the 8-bit technology of its predecessor, the Sega Master System, to 16-bit gaming brought more pixels, colours, and higher fidelity music to our virtual adventures through the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.
40769 SEGA Genesis Controller is now available as a gift with purchase at LEGO.com, free when you spend over £115 / $130 / €130.
Thanks to Huw for building the set and supplying the photos!

This set makes a stunning centrepiece to a seasonal display, with a 16-piece circular track that can be set up on a tablescape or around a holiday tree.

41843 Christmas Tree Decoration

Revealing today is the LEGO Family Christmas Tree Decoration, a 3171-piece set that invites families and builders aged 9+ to create a spectacular Christmas tree home decor piece, filled with imaginative details. The set features panels that open to reveal four rooms inside, where elves and Santa Claus are preparing for the holidays.
Included is also a sleigh, reindeer, plushies, Mrs. Claus, and five industrious elves, all ready to bring the season to life. This is also the first time a LEGO set includes a brick-built Cataclaws - the hero of the LEGO Group’s recent holiday campaigns.
Last week we conducted the semi-final contests in our quest to determine the set released in the last five years that you, our readers, think is the best.
The results in both bouts were very close: just 16 votes separated the contenders in one of them, causing a major upset.
Find out if the sets you voted for prevailed after the break.
The flagship DC set of the year, 76300 Arkham Asylum, is now available at LEGO.com.

Rumours suggesting that LEGO is to produce Star Trek sets have been swirling for months, and today, finally, the company has revealed that it will make it so!
A post on Instagram reveals a Captain Picard minifigure and this image featuring Klingon text, which, as you might expect, translates to 'Coming Soon'.
View the minifigure after the break and let us know how excited you are in the comments!
As usual for Ideas competition winners, this model will be developed into a set, to be released at some point in the next year or so, I'd assume. But it's hard to say, since the backlog of sets in production - coming out of either review periods or challenges - just keeps growing!
