Here's the error- and grammar-corrected press release for this year's addition to the perennially popular Winter Village Collection:

10325 Alpine Lodge
1,517 pieces, rated 18+
$99.99 / €99.99 / £89.99 / CA$129.99 / AU$169.99
Available from 1st October at LEGO.com

Today the LEGO Group reveals the Alpine Lodge set, the perfect display set for the holiday season. A captivating addition to the holiday season that represents the essence of a quaint and whimsical winter wonderland, the Alpine Lodge is the latest addition to the Winter Village Collection.

This 1,517-piece set is packed with a host of wonderful features, the main being the snowy lodge with warm interior including a bar offering hot drinks, a cosy seating space in front of the fireplace, and a little Christmas tree.

There is a light brick within the building which is activated by pressing the top of the chimney. It illuminates two different sections, the fireplace on the ground floor and the small fireplace in the child’s room. Outside, there's a small frozen pond with a wooden pier, snowman, trees, a desk where you can rent some ice skates, and an outhouse.

A snowmobile is also included within the set, with a trailer that can be used to drive the Christmas trees from the market or just to have fun driving around the snowy landscape.

The wintertime model comes with five minifigures, including a lodge employee, skier and a child.

This Winter Village set is perfect to build as a family, with the main snow-covered lodge model best suited to adults, with the smaller build elements perfect for kids.

Wow! Love it!! Can't wait to add it to my collection!!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I like it! I see I have to change my winter village set-up this year.
The only thing I don't get is the outhouse.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This will look so great along wih 41756 this year!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looks very pretty, and fair value.

Gravatar
By in United States,

One of their best in a while. Super excited!

Gravatar

Love the use of those 1x4 rounded tiles jutting out at the corners - excellent stuff!

It's a classic outdoors item, and also, it gives the designers an opportunity to sneak another poop into a set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That’s a fantastic price, and the set looks great. Fits in with a lot of stuff that’s come out in the past couple of years, tbh.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think there were three pine trees originally, and we just don't remember because Marty McFly took one out in the time-displaced DeLorean years ago. Thus, the Three Pines Inn became Two Pines Inn!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love the picture of the medieval farmer! Will look great in the rumored medieval villlage!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow that looks great! Love that log cabin look with the curved top bricks.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Very cosy, and the woodwork looks fantastic. Not a Winter Village Collector though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Like that they gave us a outhouse in case if they don't approve the shrek's swamp on lego ideas.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like it! There’s a nice balance of display ability and play value. Works very well as a stand-alone set too, which is ideal for sets like this.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'll have to wait until I see the Rebrickable modularised version before I consider a purchase.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Now it’s the One Pines Inn thanks to that BNB customer who had to try to impress his partner with his “lumberjack” skillz.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I love it like I love Twin Peaks….I’m trying not to ‘feel’ the native burial ground in this.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Love it, will probably grab one. The logs are wonderful.

I know people complain about the depth of these, but for displaying on a mantle, it's exactly what you need.

Looks like 3 stickers? Outhouse, inn sign, and newspaper on the counter? Edit: 4, the painting on the wall.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Has anyone else noticed the (not hibernating) squirrel on the balcony?

Gravatar
By in France,

Definitely a step up over previous years, main building seems to have a bit more substance overall despite still being a little on the thing side.

Overall a better fit in the Winter village theme.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Love it! Best Winter Village set in years!

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

The Dad character has got to be Clark Griswold.

Day 1. WV sets are the only thing that I buy immediately, anymore.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Note to self: don’t buy right away but wait until the Christmas GWP’s are available!

And it has the curved lodge pieces in 1x2

"It's a little bit shallow, to the point where one of the two people who are least likely to survive a cold winter is forced to sit outside. Please be kind to Gam-gam. She is old, and would like to see another spring.

It's a great-looking facade though, but it deserves to be built out a bit more. Also, those candles are just massive safety-hazards. What is going on here? Is this a secret murder-cabin?"

Gammy the Ice Speed Racer. Cool, sugga-daddio Gramps wid his sweet lid. Poor, sad Dad can't poop in peace! Candles left unattended. Icy squirrel sneaking into bedrooms! What's going on here???!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It look very similar to the Gingerbread House but not as interesting.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My winter village is built inside a 4x5 baseplate loop of track with a main street and train station. Will need to think about how I can integrate this!

Ideally I'd like a mountain/tunnel at the back with this on top - I'd have to get rid of the train siding, but it might be worth it for this!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like it! The fern-trees really do hammer home how clunky the brick built Christmas tree is, unfortunately. Can't decide if I'll get this one or not. I do like it, but I feel like I have to be more ruthless about passing on things.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A bit mundane. Seems like it's Winter Shop set, then Winter home, then Winter Shop, then Winter home.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Definitely buying this. I don't mind if the sets are too thin, I just love a great facade on my LEGO buildings for display, and this is beautiful.

@ChazTheMinifig
Squirrels don't hibernate - they're far too busy all winter teasing that tiny cat

According to the PR there are only four minifigs, "including a lodge employee, and three guests: one child with their parent and the other on their own." which is all nonsense and inaccurate.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like it. I was expecting the price to be higher (by which I mean over priced) but this seem fair for a special.

Whenever I see that hair piece I immediately think 'Bill Murray' - this is definitely a pro.

Also, I love the continued fascination with toilets in LEGO sets. This is a great variant. Curious to see the interior (no, YOU'RE weird)

Gravatar
By in United States,

After 10315 I was thinking of making similar pine trees with snow on top for my winter village, this set has pre-empted me and includes two!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like what I see.

I've gotten into the habit now of expanding sets and this looks like it'll be fun to adapt.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A really charming set. Will be interesting to see what it looks like next to 910004. Although if they get much shallower next year's offering is in danger of being an 'Art' theme set rather than a 'Winter Village'!

Complete with the essential loo roll!

Gravatar
By in Jordan,

It looks great! Big improvement over last year's offering IMO. I especially like the second floor with its log texture and dark brown balcony railing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Makes me think of doing a Twin Peaks moc now.

Gravatar
By in United States,

love it! And especially love the price! Not really bothered by the more shallow building if that means we get the much more palatable price. Maybe i could see going to $150, but at $100 I will probably pick this up and start collecting the winter village sets going forward.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This looks okay and I plan to buy it. Last years was the first I hadn't bought since getting back into Lego. I think the ice rink is kind of meh and they've done better in the recent past (40416, 80109). Maybe they could have combined the outhouse and rink into an ice fishing scene, don't think they've done that.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like the outhouse

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh that's cute, and glad to see the prices staying where they should for this series. I'm still a year behind on WV, so we'll be building Main Street this year, but will definitely be grabbing this whenever the next 2x VIP comes along.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

I don't get the "moon" sticker on the outhouse's door. Shouldn't it be a "heart"?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I like it. I'm in no hurry to get it though. Haven't even gotten round to building last year's yet. Plus, it will inevitable get a nice discount after a while (just like all the previous ones).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Now I can build TWO log cabins after Christmas dinner!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is surreal. As a kid, for several years I wished I could make a winter lodge-type interior whenever Christmas drew near. I never had enough of anything useful to even try. Though I did ultimately mess with the first ever Hagrid's Hut into a (kid's take) on a festive household. I never even fully realized that one, either. Then I entered a gray age from '03 or '04, all the way to 2018, so I missed easy access to anything that might have facilitated that childhood dream.

And now here we are. It's been a long time coming. I'm weirdly calm, but in the back of my mind I know I'm jumping for joy.

while squirrels hibernate, they still come out to look for food if they need to. I see squirrels all winter long off and on. The usually are out looking for where they buried some of their stash, but thanks to the snow they can't find it as easily.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Outhouses are wildly popular. When driving home from school in Indiana, I'd see an outhouse festival in southern Illinois every year. It was never during my breaks so I never went to it. But outhouses are all around us.

This is the one thing I like of this set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

While in high school, my father was questioned by a sherriff's deputy about whether he was dynamiting outhouses the night before.
He wasn't, but he and some friends were tipping outhouses.
I wonder why he was a "person of interest"? I heard this story as an adult. What else was Dad up to back then?

The American stereotype is for a moon cutout, though from a quick search and reading some
articles on the topic, it's mostly a myth that moons were any more common than other symbols or had any special significance (e.g. what gender the outhouse was intended for).

I'm guessing that the designer/graphic designer was American or they wanted to please the American audience.

I don't think it's very effective for a cutout effect so if I was buying the set I'd probably leave it off

Sounds like AI to me. Unless the writer never looked at a picture of the set...which I suppose doesn't rule out AI!

Gravatar
By in United States,

As usual, this set is too large to be in proper scale for the earliest WV sets, but for once that doesn't bother me, perhaps because I can persuade myself it's the village hotel and deserves to be larger, or perhaps because it seems to have a smaller footprint than most of the larger ones. The point about shallow sets fitting more easily on a mantlepiece is a good one--and, as I was reminded long ago when I first complained that a WV set seemed too shallow, the early sets weren't much (if at all) deeper themselves. I think this is a lovely set and look forward to adding it to my collection--now all I need to do is clear out a big enough space to set up a WV display!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

For me this is the weakest in many years, even last year's Main Street 10308 was a bit different with that fantastic tram.

We have recently seen a much better frozen lake for ice skating in the Lunar New Year Ice Festival 80109 and then they give us yet another wooden cabin which we've seen many and much better ones this year. I'll pass this time.

“Now, about ventilators, or the designs I cut in doors. I can give you stars, diamonds, or crescents — there ain’t much choice — all give good service. A lot of people like stars, because they throw a ragged shadder. Others like crescents ’cause they’re graceful and simple. Last year we was cuttin’ a lot of stars; but this year people are kinda quietin’ down and runnin’ more to crescents. I do cut twinin’ hearts now and then for young married couples, and bunches of grapes for the newly rich. These last two designs come under the head of novelties and I don’t very often suggest ’em because it takes time and runs into money.
”I wouldn’t take any snap judgment on her ventilators, Elmer,” I sez, “because they’ve got a lot to do with the beauty of the structure. And don’t over-do it, like Doc Turner did. He wanted stars and crescents both, against my better judgement, and now he’s sorry. But its too late; ’cause when I cut ’em, they’re cut.” And, gentlemen, you can get mighty tired, sittin' day after day lookin’ at a ventilator that ain’t to your likin'.”

By in Italy,

Another revolting set!
A lamp of too many sketchy things, instead of a whole well-done building.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This one is quite lovely, but begs to be “finished”. Day one for sure.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Outhouse is great.
Lodge is forgettable. In 10 years, I don't think there will be many (if any) people looking back fondly on it.
Ice pond should have been left out. Totally superfluous. Would rather the piece count was used to improve the lodge.

Gravatar
By in United States,

How much just tree's and outhouse...

Anyways not sure been asked but why is there an outhouse with an Alpine lodge.... how cheap is place not have restrooms...

or am I wrong lodges have no restrooms?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

This is an interesting one. Overall I don't have any major complaints, but it just doesn't 'grab' or 'WOW' me like other sets have. (which is unfortunately a common feeling for me the past couple of years, especially with Lego themes myself and many others love).
I agree the fact the frozen pond isn't on a plate when literally everything else both in this set and in the rest of the WV collection is on a plate is just weird. The frozen pond itself is also an unnecessary inclusion that doesn't add anything and has been done before.
The sign and outhouse (but sign especially) come across as a lot more American than European to me which is a shame.
I really don't like how there's this extra bit at the back that sticks out where the chairs and table are. Why not just extend the whole plate back fully? Sets like Harry Potter Privet Drive have also done this and it's very annoying because it makes it more difficult to put it up against a shelf, or in my case with a WV display, requires extra space at the back which has to the sacrificed from the rest of the layout.
The minifigures are fine, I guess, but the interior details are very 'meh'. The beds are super basic and square, while the fireplace feature has been done before and for some reason the chimney is super blocky or more chunky than it needs to be.
I really miss the original WV sets. I would also say that while last year's WV set was different to the originals, at least it still had a somewhat festive feel, and the buildings themselves still work fine in the village. Whereas this, as I expected when it was announced, seems just like a generic winter cabin with no Christmas magic about it all or even anything particularly interesting.
I would consider getting it, but the Australian price is too expensive (especially when you look at the amount of stuff you get in Main Street compared to this).

@PDelahanty:
We’ve not yet seen a rustic home of any type in this theme, and rarely a lot cabin of any sort. Even more rarely one that actually looks like a log cabin. I think this one stands out in a good way.

@missedoutagain said:

I was just at Zion National Park, and there are four old restored ranger shelters that you can rent as a cabin. One of the interesting things they mention about one of them is that it has running water (presumably including flush toilets) during the warmer months, and an outhouse for use during winter. Pipes probably freeze during peak winter, so I expect they drain the system at some point. Until spring thaw, you’d either need to pack in any water, or melt collected snow.

The famous Old Faithful Inn (largest log-cabin building in the world), facing Old Faithful at Yellowstone NP, has no private restrooms in the main log cabin section. Each floor has communal restrooms and showers marked for men or women. The wings, added later in a slightly more modern style, do have private restrooms. I don’t know if it stays open during winter, though.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

+1. I don't tend to buy winter village sets often and especially in 2022/2023, but I always find myself liking deeper buildings instead of this. But I like this year's more compared to 10308 last year, as that one had exceptionally shallow buildings, which might be fine for different tastes but completely wasn't for me.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

I've tried to figure out why bugs me with this set. Now I figured it out - Alpine things have nothing to do with Christmas. Santa lives in North. Not in the Alps.
