City Advent Calendar - Day 21

Posted by ,

We have cookies and milk ready for Santa - perhaps they've been put out by the little girl we met on Day 14. It seems likely that we'll meet the jolly old elf later in the calendar, but in the meantime, let's see what's behind Door 21.

This is a nice surprise! Today we meet Mrs. Claus, and even more surprisingly, she's on a snowboard! She has a new torso, and I really like her red coat with fur trim and green shirt underneath. Her belt is thinner than what's seen on her husband. Her first expression is a very kindly face with a sweet smile.

I was happy to see that this is a dual sided head, and Mrs. Claus' alternate expression is another pleasant one. The printing on the back of her torso is also quite detailed.

I think it's safe to say we'll be meeting her husband in a few days.

I feel like this is the first time we've gotten a Mrs Claus minifig?

The problem with the advent calendar from this point on is that there's no more surprises. The final three days are pretty clearly sign-posted on the front of the box, heck, I knew that day 21 would feature Mrs Claus before I even opened it.

The snowboard was a pleasant surprise, sure. But I still wish Lego wasn't so casual about the box spoilers. I loved the surprise of the gaming room set-up, because it wasn't telegraphed anywhere.

The first one was in 10245 Santa's Workshop in 2014, and there was a minidoll in the 2020 Friends Advent Calendar 41420 .
The minifig took a while to return though and it's a completely different look.

Arrived a lot earlier than her husband; suppose that’s the advantage of the snowboard!

Dual-Molded Legs are quite nice too

If this was the Marvel Calendar, the snowboard would be its own day.

Oh, how delightful! I’m very much enjoying this year’s SW AC, but I wish I’d gotten this one as well.

If I see any left in stores after Christmas I might pick one up and hang on to it for next year.

What the heck is with the solid white line at the bottom? It doesn't look fluffy like the fur trim around the collar. It doesn't have a line indicating where the coat opens. Is it supposed to be a white hem on the green turtleneck that's peeking out at the bottom of the coat? At first, I kinda wanted this, but now I can't unsee that white line.

There was also an alternate take available at BAM five years ago:

Perfect torso. I collect parts from this AC to add to my collection and I appreciate the torso. I lost mine a long time ago and never found it. I have been wanting to build so many sets with Mrs. Claus. Also love all the parts coming from this AC. At least 13 of the sets I have made include AC parts.
