Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 2

Posted by ,

Having started with Harry Potter himself, day two of the Harry Potter Advent Calendar could go anywhere in Hogsmeade, perhaps filling one of the shops on the packaging.

Take a look after the break...

This table of confections clearly belongs in Honeydukes, the renowned Hogsmeade sweet shop. The printed box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans looks nice and I am pleased to see it again, after four past appearances. The trans-blue ice lolly is not very common either, so I like the pieces included, but maybe the table underneath could have been more substantial.

Overall - Today's item features some interesting parts, but is relatively insubstantial.

2nd day is quite in the shadow of the respective firsts, mercilessly.

4. SW dislike the real thing anyway
3. Marvel
2. City - at least a cool printed piece
1. HP best accesories, best Minifig-interaction

I got a turkey leg, mug of butter beer and parts for a table. I hope the mix up mean I get this later, will be annoyed if my calendar is missing this build.

I double checked I opened the correct door!.

Not sure if I want to report to lego - I will not know if my set is missing anything for until maybe Christmas Eve!

Ah yes, the Hobbits are famous for their appetite! This must be second breakfast, for the second day!

The animation based on this build, as I promised! Don’t eat the Bertie Bott’s Beans, they’ve started putting Liquid Nitrogen beans in the containers…

I feel like having an ice lolly sold out of freezer storage doesn’t make sense tbh.

I like the printed Bertie Bott's coloured beans, and the rare trans-blue ice-lolly.

Welp, when I opened the window I pulled a bag, and I discovered with horror that was from the another window! There's a big enough gap between the inner slots and the outer packaging...

At least it isn't from Zonko's - that lolly would burn a hole in your tongue otherwise!

So, if there was a saliva-flavored Every Flavor Bean... would you be able to taste it?

@PJMcC:
Without looking anything up, what you described does not sound like something you’d get on the last few days, and absolutely not a final build.

@Trigger_:
If that’s your account, I have one question for you. What is “Dia dos Muertos”? “Day Two Dead”?

And the answer to the other part is, “It’s magic!”

@Legodp:
The new cardboard trays are straight garbage.

@TheOtherMike:
Depends on whether it tastes like your saliva or someone else’s.

I'm curious why you're posting these in the HP comments instead of waiting for the SW post to go up. Not a complaint, mind you, just idle curiosity.

I own the SW calendar, so I can post in 2d to last. On the other hand, I have to avoid spoilers. If there is interest or if it it's rude to post early, I can of course wait till the last post.

By in United States,

Thanks to the $20 bonanza at Walmart on ACs this year, I ended up buying 4 of the 5. I've enjoyed the City AC much more than I thought. HP has been pretty good so far but I would have liked a hairpiece to go with the HP minifig on the first day. Thought today's offering was meh at first but after realizing the BBEFB, chox frog, and Popsicle were fairly rare I've changed my mind. It looks like the different builds are going to be for different Hogsmeade shops. (I haven't looked at the box too closely to avoid spoilers so I'm not 100% sure yet.)

cheers

@jkb:
Again, not a complaint. I've seen people create their own AC traditions over the years. Some last, others don't, and yes, people definitely complain about many of them. Usually when I see someone rating the various themes against each other, they either post on the last relevant article to go up, or they wait until the last one has been posted and copy/paste their rating into each one. So it was just a little confusing why all five were being rated when only four were posted.

I got enough of an answer that my curiosity is sated. Another possibility I considered was that you simply saved the HP post to read last, and posted there because that's the page you had open. I was able to rule that out by checking the timestamps of your post and the SW article.

@MandalorianCandidate:
Thanks to representing a chocolate frog, the reddish-brown frog is the third most common color, after green and pearl-gold. Yellow and dark-bley round out the top five.
