Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 2
Posted by CapnRex101,Assuming this LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar follows the trend of its predecessors, we can expect a few items themed around The Bad Batch in the coming days, following Omega behind door number one.
Let's see what day two has to offer...
Omega had only appeared once before until yesterday, in 75323 The Justifier. Appropriately, a microscale rendition of Cad Bane's transport emerges today. While this is far from my favourite Star Wars vehicle, the design is easily recognisable and I always appreciate new subjects in the Advent Calendars, which are becoming increasingly rare after thirteen years, unsurprisingly!
The tan 3x3 plate beneath the fuselage looks a little awkward, although the black and dark tan accents are effective, in combination with dark bluish grey. Moreover, the shape of the Justifier looks good and this model recreates the vessel's rotating engine assembly too, which moves to a horizontal position for landing. However, there is no landing gear towards the front, so the vessel tilts forward in landing mode.
Overall - I am glad to receive an entirely new mini-vehicle today, especially given the Justifier's simple, but accurate, function.

Immediately recognisable, even if I am no fan of the original.
Kid 1 wasn't interested, kid 2 built it and liked it and I disliked it since the justifier is an ugly and silly ship.
Finally! A Justifier I can afford!
Never really liked the Justifier as a ship, I preferred Bane's Porax-38 from the Clone Wars Season 2 episode Children of the Force, but I will say that its appearance in Bad Batch is better than the initial design that would have been used in Clone Wars had the Cad Bane and Boba Arc had happened.
Mine for some reason had 1x1 red circle pieces…
Thought this was Grievous’ Starfighter.

So did mine, on the inside of the build.
I didn't recognise this one at all, had to come here to find out what it was!
I don't like the Justifier but this micro-scale remake is fine.
This is getting out of hand! Now there are TWO of them!
Thank you captain Rex for enlightening me as to what this is!!
I knew what it was, but then I looked at the full-sized Lego set, and this does not look like a very good rendition. It's recognizable for what it is, but there are so many issues with it.
I'm not all that interested in the ship, but it's a decent model, there are some nice wing plates, and my first 1x5 plate.
I added a black 1x1 tile + stud under the front of the ship so it didn't look stupid when it was just sitting out, I think they should have added a couple clear studs underneath to make it not fall over
The instructions are incorrect regarding the placement of the black 1x1 round piece on the top back of the pivoting engine mount. Looking at pics of the ship on the show, and of 75323: The Justifier, my son and I agreed the piece belongs on the top front of the engine to be accurate.

That doesn't seem "Justified"

This is why we keep the spare pieces with the calendar as we open the later days: to adjust builds where needed!

A red nose?
Mine didn't have any hollow 1x1 rounds. It had extras of all the other 1x1 pieces though, so I'm trying to decide between digging the correct piece out of my spares, and taking @leviness' suggestion.

One goes on the center stud of the tan plate, and gets completely buried inside the completed model. The other is spare.
Only knew what this was because of Omega. Nice to get something new, though.

I forgot Cad Bane briefly flew a Lockheed P-38 Lightning... I mean, an Utapauan Porax-38; phew wouldn't want to mistake that for any other aircraft. At least we have 7673 if we want to give Bane his older ride.
Ultimately a good build, but I felt the instructions were not as clear as they could have been…
