Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 10

Posted by ,

The last two days of the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar have focused on the droid army and I thus expect another model associated with the Confederacy of Independent Systems today.

Follow the link to see what arrives...

Din Djarin's N-1 Starfighter was my favourite model from this Advent Calendar so far, but a rival emerges today! This rendition of a Hailfire Droid is impressive, faithfully recreating the vehicle's distinctive angled wheels and missile pods, as well as the chin-mounted auto-blaster. The trans-red 1x2 plate used just above the blaster looks excellent too, depicting the droid's photoreceptor.

Overall - For such a small model, this Hailfire Droid is remarkably detailed and accurate to the onscreen vehicle.

Oh, that is a fantastic rendition.
Instantly recognizable!
Remarkable in the details at this scale!

It looks like a face with a brown moustache to me.

Definitely my favorite model from this calendar so far. It really captures all of the important details.

Is this the first time we've seen any depiction of a Hailfire since 2015's 75085?

Under-used design! I don't think we ever saw these things in the Clone Wars, unless you count the 2D version. Excellent model of an underappreciated droid.

It's not a very popular model to design, apparently. For one thing, it's not an X-Wing, so new designers don't have a pile of previoius designs to experiment with. But mostly, it's probably the issue with having to design a model that can balance on two wheels. Get it wrong, and you have to tear everything apart and redo the weight distribution.

Quite a weird vehicle when i first saw it in Episode ll, but it's an effective one.

Good one. They nailed this model!

Long live the Confederacy!

I really liked this one. It matched up pretty well with the real thing so this one has got to be one of the best in the set yet. I made a brickfilm with it too. Check it out if you want. (or don't)

Okay that's pretty rad. Far better than the STAP yesterday with its colors. It feels a bit more purposeful and not just using preexisting parts that fit the bill.

I'd really like a scale analysis on these mini builds. Like, the Clone Turbo Tank should be way larger than this Hailfire Droid.

5 Friends
4 Marvel
3 HP
2 City
1 SW

_No._ The Trade Federation is very different from the Confederacy.

That’s both a fantastic rendition in its own right and great to see new material in the advent calendar instead of yet another X-Wing or Falcon

I love this little guy! A very neat model, and another one we haven't seen in an advent calendar before.

Definitely a fun build that looks great!

This is both a really lovely, clever model and a terrific parts pack. I don’t have nearly enough of these ring-shaped 4x4 round plates with holes, let alone in a color like this.

Man, I adore that model.

Instantly recognizable as better than the shadow box version!!

The SWAC has kicked ass in the last couple of years. HP is also reliably good. What the hell is the problem with Marvel? A cape? Gold webs? Just completely a rip-off!!

This might be the second-best Hailfire. 4481

That meme and the Dreadflipper one need to have a duel to the death. My money would be on the shadowbox, as Batman knows how to deal with evil Penguins. Although, Batman does refuse to kill...
