Rats!!!! Thats a misleading photo to lead this post with. I thought the Icons Castle was reduced... its not :(

By in United Kingdom,

It's not great.... Seems other retailers have some better offers.... Oh well. I hope these deals work out for other forum members.

It is 25% off in the US, but not in the UK.

Probably for the best, from my point of view. Bought a few too many plastic bricks recently...

For some reason Lego sent me the e-mail for North American rather than the UK, my disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! The story pic raised my hopes, too, dammit!

Lego could make a lot of money if they had a stable website, falling over last night, falling over now.

By in United Kingdom,

Most sets have been on sale at these prices before (I’m looking at you table football, half football pitch and Atari) no real amazing discounts it seems

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

Is it only me thinking that US almost always get the best discounts/offers? All 3 offers are great but EU/UK offers ....

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I never get the point of Black Friday. Every retailer is asking you to spend a huge amount of money at the same point in time, while I suspect most products are sold with a very thin margin or at a loss. And people then don't need to buy these products later on (and they ran out of funds anyway).

Also, buyers may regret their purchase and return, or try to sell it at a profit later on, which in turn reduces the sales for the retailers.

By in Belgium,

With all the discounts and sales Americans get, I can’t imagine how they can have poor people there. Then again, they probably spend it all on said sales and discounts.

EU/UK usually gets the short end of the stick (or the finger from LEGO) when it comes to discounts from LEGO's official webshop. It's nothing new.

Otoh, if LEGO so obviously show me that they don't want my money I am happy to spend it elsewhere (on products from other companies).

By in Australia,

Poor Optimus Prime is really taking a bath worldwide, as he was also offered for 54% off at Australian K-Mart for their black friday sale.

It was reduced for you guys last year. Now, it's our turn.

Not sure why the comments have turned to being unkind to Americans simply because Lego offered them discounts. It’s not their fault

It is in the US, best to read the article and don't just check the pics.

By in Belgium,

I’m also very disappointed with the EU offers. I wanted to finally get the lion knights castle, but I can’t justify it without that discount… :( happy for the people in the US (who are btw the reason we have black friday in the first place, so no hate to them)

Apparently some people have more money than kindness. Thanks for the kind words about Americans because you couldn't save a few bucks on a plastic castle. It's the nasty people like you that push people out of hobbies, or forums like this. We come here to talk like adults not be called obese junk food eating slobs.

By in United States,

Lion Knight's castle has been on my wishlist since it came out, bu I felt $399 was not justified. At 25% off, it's very tempting! I'm actually surprised we (U.S.) are getting that hefty of a discount on the set. Wonder if they aren't selling as well as Lego hoped?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

As always, the ‘world’ according to Lego is USA/UK/Europe.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

The sets offered in EU are a joke compared to the US ones...

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

I don’t know if I ever saw a more controversial and messed up set, than the 21337.

Agree. At 40% off, I really considered getting one, but after reading a lot of reviews, watching a video of play, and looking at the set several times, it just didn't make sense even at $150.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Cashed in some points and got the adorable 31143 for £6. Not too shabby. :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sigh,,, The one set I really wanted, 71775, already sold out. I just didn't want to buy it at a flat 120...

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

Oh look, the US gets preferential treatment as usual.
How refreshing.

Just wait until the big orange one is back in office. He'll bully companies around the world to be even more US friendly. Perhaps then on Black Friday every desirable set will be 75% off across the pond, and to compensate the rest of the world will have to pay RRP. ;-)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

My lego budget is already empty for this month because of more important expenses. But I hope other people will at least be able to enjoy their stuff if they decide to bite on these offers. No matter where they are, I wish them happy building :D

By in United States,

There are some great sales in the U.S. this year! Awesome to see after some lackluster Black Fridays recently.

Do it! I payed full price and wasn't disappointed. If anyone (in the US) have had thoughts about it, this is an amazing opportunity for you. Must be one of the all-time greatest sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Also worth adding that from today until Monday, one can redeem three $5 vouchers online for 75% less VIP points than normal. So it’s up to $15 off your order for 162 points each.

Gravatar
By in United States,

With $100 off for the castle and so many GWPs, I bit the bullet. Literally went to the store after seeing it backordered 60 days. Sadly means waiting to get the Museum.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Extremely disappointed with the UK sale, don't think I need to say anything more.

Yes, I decided to get it. Used the 75% off on VIP points discounts to get $15 in coupons, after that I had enough points to get another $60 after big spending on Insiders weekend, so all in all a good purchase at a net of $225 (of course there's also the GWPs too). The only downside is by the time I pushed the button the sets were on backorder. So, we'll see when it actually ships.

It's really a free $10. If you're buying something this weekend, everyone should take advantage of it.

And the vouchers are good for 60 days, so you don't need to use them immediately.

I don't remember a 25% discount.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Snagged the Lion Knight’s castle for $200 with an additional $100 in Lego vouchers, plus 2nd copy of Majisto’s workshop and Winter Market stall which I can hopefully sell or trade.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Once again pandering to the US market like it's the only one in the world.
Last I checked Lego was not a US company and if you can do the Razor Crest for that price in the US, you can do it for that price **everywhere**

The UK / EU offers are crap and the whole section about Black Friday deals beforehand was just misleading and bad form on the part of Lego.
To top that, Amazon have done better deals on Lego and you get more for your money there.

A £25 discount. If I remember correctly.

But, that was last year. Surely, with compounded interest... ;)

By in Canada,

Worth repeating that you can get up to three $5 insider discounts at a 75% rebate (for 125 points). So you basically get a 15$ rebate for $3.75 in points value.

So I just got the castle for a little over $200CAD (and 15,375 points) instead of $500CAD, plus the two gifts, which is not too shabby.

Because yes, it's also available in Canada, so LEGO is not only pandering to the States. ;)

Of course, I won't get it until Feb 2024, but I also won't get charged for it until then (which is a good thing as I took advantage of the double points and freebies last week) and that's pretty much when I was originally planning to get it, so it's a win-win for me!

By in United States,

@Wrecknbuild:
Traditionally, many small businesses would operate at break-even or a loss for much of the year, and would only become profitable during the holiday shopping season. Black Friday is so named because that's the day that these businesses would be able to switch their accounting books from red ink (indicating a negative sum) to black ink (indicating a positive sum). It's not the most profitable day of the year (that's usually the last weekend before Christmas), and it actually results in more merchandise returns than any other day, but it's the start of the holiday profit season.

By in New Zealand,

As far as I know this has never had a discount in New Zealand. I would have got it this weekend if it had 25% off. It still sold out anyway! It would be nice if the same discounts were applied world wide.
