Poor Rouge never stood a chance...

At least it's a cheap way to get the minifigures, the use of the princess skirt for the emmerald is very smart!

Add this list to just2good's "violent LEGO" sets - the box art appears to depict our "hero" Knuckles violently punching a woman in the face while he's in the middle of stealing an opulent piece of jewelry.

And they have this set as age 8+ SMDH does the 18+ label mean *anything* if we don't apply it to appropriate sets?... /s

By in Netherlands,

stop making so many damn mechs, LEGO! It's quantity over quality at this point!!

Why do the feet look so unfinished?

Hmm, dunno how I feel about this one - it's not too shabby of a mech overall and designers have given it a fair shot, but it's *so* far withdrawn from the source material in a theme that's been sticking decently close to it that I can't help but be bewildered by it a tad?

....I mean either way, gonna grab it cos the minifigs are spot-on, but still.

It's almost as if LEGO is a toy company, and kids like mechs, so LEGO makes mechs... Weird.

I think they’re trying to mimic the studs on Knuckles’ shoes, but perhaps some additional plates would enhance the look of it.

dont know much about sonic but this looks nice

Knuckles got sick of that bat trying to steal the emerald, so he’s just going to punch her out of the sky. Kinda brutal when you look at it that way!

I always wondered why he never invested in a building around the emerald. Seems pretty easy to reach all things considered.

By in New Zealand,

This is dumb because the mech doesn't appear in any of the games so it's completely made up. But at least the minifigures are nice. Also i saw this early when it was leaked, but then it was taken down.

It is rather smart! But who Darth Mauled Tiana?

Lego Sonic the Hedgehog. And Knuckles!

By in United States,

When this leaked it looked like the Master Emerald contained all the Chaos Emeralds, similar to its depiction in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (the movie, I mean, not the beloved Genesis/Megadrive video game or the rather less beloved Master System/Game Gear game). With the proper product photos, though, it looks like the gem pieces are probably all green and meant to represent the pieces of the Master Emerald itself after it was shattered at the beginning of Sonic Adventure, reassembled, then shattered again at the beginning of Sonic Adventure 2, this time intentionally to keep it out of Eggman's hands. The latter incident was also Knuckles and Rouge's first meeting, and so between the shards and Rouge's glider being shown carrying the Master Emerald suspended underneath like the Eggmobile, I suspect it was the direct inspiration for the set, though the mech is certainly a new addition.

As for the mech, it doesn't correspond to anything in particular from the games, but it's not wildly unlikely either. "Character mechs" are a thing in the series--usually based on Eggman, like the Death Egg Robot from earlier this year, but Sonic Superstars features one based on Fang the Hunter--and while big machines aren't normally Knuckles's thing, Triple Trouble demonstrated that they're not entirely outside his wheelhouse, and it's not hard to imagine Tails building something for him. (It feels like something that would happen as a one-off story in the IDW comics.)

As for *why*, I almost wonder if it's *because* of the feet--Knuckles's "Lego shoes" are something of a meme in Sonic fandom.

I think this is the first Sonic set to be revealed that doesn't include a small animal.

Like most of the other Sonic sets this just looks fine. I fear my knowledge of the franchise starts and ends with all of the characters that will be released by the time this set hits shelves. Knuckles was my favorite as a kid, so this one is a no brainer, but I don’t know if this theme has much staying power. Maybe we’ll see Big the Cat or Silver in a later wave, but nobody else really seems as important or crucial to own as the figures we already have revealed.

Compared to ninjago or monkie kid mechs, this one is just alright.

As I said when 76993 was revealed, Lego needs to do more cartoony mechs.

The presence of the Master Emerald (and Chaos Emeralds I think?) makes me wonder if we'll see Super Sonic anytime soon.

I mean, Shadow's head mould would suit perfectly, and you wouldn't need any other new moulds, just new printing. This is all we are expecting for part 1 of 2024 though and we'll have to just wait and see I guess for a Super Sonic set.
