By in United Kingdom,

Mech Venom (two minifigures) costs the same as Mech War Machine (one minifigure). Hmm...

Gravatar
By in United States,

what are these pricessssssssssssssssss

Gravatar
By in United States,

That Xmen Jet is about $35 overpriced, lol.

Who do TLG think they're fooling? ??

Gravatar
By in United States,

Most of those prices are annoying but understandable. What happened with the X-Men jet????

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

€85 for the X-men jet....not paying that for it at all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well, good. We're entering the phase where Marvel sets are becoming repetitive and there's less FOMO if I don't get one. Will probably get the Venom and War Machine mechs, and the Sandman. Maaaaaaybe Rocket's Warbird. I'd previously read that the Warbird was going to be a straight reissue of the SDCC set and, no, it isn't.

I'm betting that the later part of this year will be heavy with X-Men '97 sets. Again, would love it if that's the Advent Calendar.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I NEED them ALL!!

Except the cars, mechs, and that nightmare joker rabbit. That thing needs to go back into the cage, lock the door, throw away the key, and dump the cage into the nearest large body of water.

Then again, maybe it would be good for Halloween?! :0

Of course, I won't be paying full prices for ANY of these.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That Magneto is horrendous

Gravatar
By in United States,

Venom is great and all but man, that minifigure has not been updated since 2019. Some great minifigure selection in the rest of these though! Always a fan of character variants.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Rocket Racoon buildable figure is gonna give people nightmares.

Gravatar
By in United States,

359 pieces for $84.99 is $0.237 per piece.

Pick a Brick sells trans red 1x1 round tiles for $0.04 each. There's eight in the image, so that's $0.32.

The other 351 pieces for $84.67 is $0.241 per piece.

Comparatively, 76232 The Hoopty is a bargain at just $0.214 per piece!

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

What is the idea behind the Miles fig and Venom Mech?

That buildable rocket is almost the new buildable Chewbacca level. It’s terrifying.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

The baby Groot is soooo cute, just about makes up for the feral cat look Rocket is sporting lol. Will be getting it for sure though, love the scale and can display next to the two Groot ones :)

Thank-you for the information :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm happy with the X-JET and the Warbird, but that Magneto Displeased me!!

I will add Decorated legs to Cyclops, I've technically got that wolverine although they missed the Arm printing on this one so it's a step down from the cmf.. I love Rogue ??

But I hope we get Nightcrawler, Bishop, Charles, Emma frost, Jugganaught, Gambit, Mystique and colossus one day all are overdue lego..

Gravatar
By in United States,

First order of business: modify the Spider Man car to seat figures side by side, just like the Miles Morales car.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm aiming for the jet,the warbird, and the sandman. Hopefully we get more missing characters this upcoming year.

Gravatar
By in United States,

$85 for that jet?! Is this the sequel of that one Marvels set? 76232 Which is also overpriced

Gravatar
By in United States,

That's a comics-accurate Magneto from the mid-80s. It's not one anyone is clamoring for in minifigure form, but here we are.

That Miles previously appeared in one or two sets. Pretty sure he was in the car set with Morbius.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I find myself always waiting for a legendary marvel set to pop up that rivals 76057 Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle. And repeatedly disappointed year after year that nothing can match its size nor its price point.

Gravatar
By in United States,

the No Way Home final battle set from earlier this year was really missing Sandman and Lizard so this is awesome. I bricklinked the Sandman minifig from the daily bugle set and I was just about to bricklink a CMF Lizard Guy as an amusing stand-in but now I don't have to!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I was interested in the X-men set until I saw the price.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The sandman looks awesome connected to the final battle from earlier this year

Gravatar

Gotta pay for the global inflation, Disney tax, Marvel, tax, X-Men tax and Wolverine tax

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Reusing the Baby Yoda eyes for Rocket is certainly a choice.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Big fan of the Cyclops and Rogue minifigs but the Jet is so overpriced, dissapointing... I'll probably get that Sandman set, that looks pretty good at least. If they do more X-Men 97 sets I hope they add Cable and/or Bishop.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m especially digging the War Machine mech, but except for the buildable Rocket (don’t collect the buildable characters) and the Sandman Final Battle (except for Spidey it’s all pre-MCU movie characters for which I do not care; not getting the Spidey Statue of Liberty set from this year for the same reason) they look good.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As everyone has already said, that x Men jet price is absurd. Maybe it's much larger than it looks, but even if it is, it would still be $15 too much. And if it is actually the size it looks, probably $20-25 too much. The War Machine and venom mechs look good for what they are. The Spidey bike is a nice $10 set, and the car seems pretty good as well. Rocket Raccoon... we'll just call animal control for that. Lastly, it's really annoying they gave us two repeat figures with the sandman fight, but the build at least looks good.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I don’t care much about x-men, but that jet looks fantastic. It will be repurposed as a spaceship :-) When I find it on discount. And Wolverine minifig is going to be a bonus

Gravatar
By in United States,

Glad to see non-juniors Ghost Spider in a relatively cheap set.

Among the mechs, 76277 catches my eye the most and reminds me of 6223. Adding additional bulk to the torso is very welcome and helps diversify the mechs beyond just limb add-ons.

76280 feels generally unnecessary; having the whole roster of that scene available is nice but 76261 *technically* already represented Sandman, so the main thing that this set provides that isn't covered by the other is the Lizard.

76282 is the first of these buildable characters that I actually agree looks atrocious. I'm a constraction refugee, so I've been very apologetic towards the mechs and buildable superheroes. but Rocket just reminds me of the pure nightmare fuel that is the constraction Wario MOC that's become a meme.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That looks to be the same Wolverine as in the Marvel Series 2 CMF (71039-12) I'm surprised, I would have thought they would have kept that one unique and maybe just made this one with non-printed legs or something. (Ahh, I see @legoavenger14 nailed it...non-printed arms)

As for Magneto, I'm guessing he may look like that if/when the X-Men '97 animated series ever actually launches.

That was a waluigi, but your point still stands that he looks like a squirrel on 15 pounds of cocaine.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Rocket Raccoon is by far the scariest set LEGO has ever made. WTF were they thinking?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Man! I love some of those sets I’ll definitely be getting a few of those.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I get why they want to do Wolverine in an X-Men set, but there's so many X-Men we could have gotten.

Professor X, Colossus, Ice-Man, Gambit, Jubilee, Angel, a new Quicksilver...

Hell, another villain or anti-hero. Juggernaut , Mr. Sinister, Blob, Apocalypse, Mystique...

Gravatar
By in South Korea,

Call me crazy but I need that Rocket

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think most people exaggerate when they say a Lego set is scary, but that buildable Rocket will keep people awake at night.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

I wish they had given us an Iron Spider Armour with the battle extension, and a Gamora from the last movie with the Warbird. Apart from that, I like them. Will probably get them both and maybe the X-men jet, if I find it with a decent discount.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

Also, do you guys know what day January sets are usually launched? I’ll be traveling in Europe up to the 15th, and was hoping to grab them while there.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I don’t know if this was the right wig for Magneto. There must be something better than that smooth freshly washed shiny long hair, right? I like the suit though. Very cool suit. Rogue looks good enough, Cyclops needs dual molded legs. I already have the first x-jet so i’ll probably skip this one. But still tempted by the figures.

Lizard looks good enough for movie lizard, but since they made movie lizard, maybe they can give us comic lizard as well? (Still waiting for comic electro)

The doc ock second face print can make an Eddy Brock about to become Venom face, so that’s something.

And i like Rocket and Ronan. Is Ronan also updated ?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

76277 War Machine mech looks great.
That is all.
Except never review Rocket. Ever. I don't want to see that thing ever again. Buildable Chewie looked fine when you saw it built, nothing can salvage Rocket!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Using a minifigure as a baby in 76282... I'm reminded of 208.I like 76281 (especially since it has Rogue), but it's too expensive, so I'll just console myself with 76022. I'll probably get 76279 to get a Ghost Spider and and a comics-style Green Goblin.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Rocket looks crazy, and that Groot is too small to pass as a baby Groot. The original buildable groot from the first guardians set would be a better size.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

@Zoniax said:
"That Xmen Jet is about $35 overpriced, lol.

Kids, unfortunately. They don't understand what overpriced means.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh, thank goodness! For a minute there, I was worried they’d throw Jean Grey in the X-Jet, and I’d miss out on my only shot at getting a Wolverine minifig.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The X-Men's Blackbird Jet is sort of a bizarre mini figure selection. 90s Cyclops, Rogue and Wolverine vs 80s Magneto. There's reason they moved about from the costume for Magneto. I still think these are the best version of Rogue and Wolverine. Cyclops I think is hard to get right. Most of his movie costumes I like better than his comic book versions.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The prices of these sets, especially the X-Men Jet. lol

Gravatar
By in United States,

30% off for all these is still too much, but that’s the only way I’m getting any of them.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Rabid Raccoon.

Gravatar
By in United States,

i feel like every marvel wave now has one item that is about double the price it should be:

76214, 76232 and now 76281

Like they are testing the waters each time to see just how many people are willing to give in.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So I need to buy a Rogue minifig and can ignore the rest of this lineup. Thanks for saving me money, Lego.

Gravatar
By in Venezuela,

IMHO Rocket Racoon looks awful

Gravatar
By in United States,

On the Blackbird, the price is one problem, but the lack of minifig innovation is another. This is the same lineup as the previous iteration (76022 ) except Storm was swapped for Rogue. Imagine if they had also swapped Magneto for Sauron, Cyclops for Bishop, and Wolverine for Forge. Or heck, any number of other characters.

Gravatar
By in Slovakia,

Which one is more cursed? The buildable Chewbacca or the buildable Rocket?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

LEGO Marvel reaching a new lowest point. Just sad what Disney is doing with this "cooperation". It's as if all the good Designers ran away to Friends and Creator because they knew what was coming.
And including another allegedly exclusive CMF Minifigure in a regular set is literally a fist in the face for collectors. Will Wolverine appear next in a Magazine Gift as well or what?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Lego has got away with murder for the pricing on the Hoopty, and they will do so again with the X-Men jet. Not buying those sets would be the right answer, although fans don't always act rationally.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like that with Rocket's Warbird they are revisiting past films in the MCU like they have done with Star Wars sets for years. I hope they keep doing it with the MCU. I enjoy the Ninjago Legacy and continued Harry Potter builds, and I would like to see this spread to themes like The Lord of the Rings.

Gravatar
By in United States,

"I live for the simple things in life. Like how much my bank account and my apathy towards Marvel is gonna hurt after I pick up Rocket!"

Yeah honestly Rocket doesn't look terrible. Don't know if I'll actually buy it but hey, ya never know

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

85 euros? Eightyfive? For 360 pieces? Somebody explain to me difference to the equal sized, one mini less 38 euro set.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@Ridgeheart said:
"I don't understand this trend of Venomising everything..."

Well, Lego is going to have all themes be Space-Themed. Venom is an Alien.
Sooo now Lego Marvel is Space Themed too, problem solved!

And yes, I am aware that technically GotG is even more Space-Themed.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Wow, I didn't expect to be skipping the entire January Marvel wave, but here we are. Shame about the X-Jet, but with yet another Wolverine, hilarious grandma Magneto and that price it's an absolute no.

Gravatar
By in United States,

TBH, the War Machine mech is the best set, though also unnecessary. 2nd goes to probably Sandman.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sorry everyone, it's my fault. First I bought the Hoopty, now I'm going to buy the X-Jet. The price increases will continue until morale improves.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m disappointed that 76280 doesn’t depict the shield.

Gravatar
By in United States,

War Machine Mech Armour and Spider-Man vs. Sandman: Final Battle are, imo, the clear winners of this lineup. I've always been a War Machine fan (even before the MCU was a thing I had a trading card of War Machine that looked pretty sick, I think it was from 1995) and that mech perfectly suits him. The depiction of Sandman is also suitably awesome and it looks like a pretty solid diorama.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So after the Daily Bugle and Avengers Tower, what are the chances of the X Mansion being next? :)

Gravatar
By in Costa Rica,

Five Nights At Rocket's?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

76275 Motorcycle Chase: Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock: venomized Doc Ock is cool but nothing special. pass.
76276 Venom Mech Armour vs. Miles Morales: Boring. I'm a Constraction apologist but there is nothing interesting here at all. Pass
76277 War Machine Mech Armour.: What the mechs SHOULD be. decent build that is NOT a clone, and a desirable minfigure with decent detail. Pick up
76278 Rocket's Warbird vs. Ronan: would have been far better with a few more minifigures. (anyone else find it wierd we haven't gotten non-specialized varients of Gamora, Drax, or Nebula in a while?) but, as it stands i might get to modify into a mini Milano. Uncertain
76279 Spider-Man Race Car & Venom Green Goblin: wow lots of venom this time. This must mean were getting black suit spidey right? all jokes aside, honestly just feels like a bigger version of 76275 . Pass
76280 Spider-Man vs. Sandman: Final Battle: yes. looks like the source material, doesn't go overboard, our 1st lizard fig. need i say more? Pick up.
76281 X-Men Jet: ...Good build. some good figs. But that price... pass.
76282 Rocket & Baby Groot. Not awful but not good either. pass.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Ridgeheart said:
"I don't understand this trend of Venomising everything..."

It’s a 2018 comic line, I guess someone at Lego is a fan.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Did Goblin and Doc Ock each get half of Venom? Or is it just a coincidence that one has the left side infected while the other has the right? Venom Doc Ock just looks lazily done though, it’s just printing and no other effects; goop up his tentacles the way Goblin’s glider has been, give him a more goggle-type eye the way Goblin’s kept his yellow ones, something other than just slapping half a print we’ve seen before on the guy!

Probably be getting that War Machine mech at some point as it absolutely suits the character and looks solid. Less interested in the Venom one even if it’s trying to evoke the latest game

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Omg! Space Police canopy on 76281

By in Italy,

I NEED THE X-JET, NOW!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@LusiferSam:
What the heck is the point of that shoulder harness? I mean, he’s basically copying Batman’s utility belt (except he tends to rely on his optic blast, so the belt doesn’t do much besides hold his pants up). And then there’s that weird Y-shaped shoulder harness that seems like it would chafe his neck something fierce. And for what? To hold the X-logo on his shoulder? A pin-back wouldn’t work? Or just make it part of the shirt, like most other superheroes across any number of companies? That seems to be the problem with having a power set that’s entirely limited to the eyes. The rest of the outfit is just a onesie with some set dressing.

20 parts less, yes, but Collectable Minifigures are $5, so a minifigure by Lego standards costs much more than separate bricks,

Gravatar
By in United States,

@MegaBlocks:
Yes, but probably not a flat $5 each. CMF pricing has to cover as many as one new mold per minifig, which frequently never get used again. The pricing also seems intended to cool down the buying frenzy that occurred when they cost 60% less. Some polybags cost $5 and include a minifig, in addition to the parts to build a small model. And bigfigs only seem to bump the price about $10 each, so $5 for a fairly standard minifig seems incredibly high outside of the CMF line.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Love the X-Jet, but what an absolutely insane price. LEGO must be fully expecting the minifigures will sell that thing anyway, no matter the price.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

These buildable figures have a reputation of being "creepy" or "nightmare fuel" and this generation is constantly exaggerating and blowing things out of proportion.

But this time? This time it's actual nightmare fuel. Those lower teeth? The massive eyes? It just doesn't work :|

Rocket is truly, legitimately cursed

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like the Sandman set enough to buy it. I like the War Machine set, but not enough to buy it. I don't like any of the other sets at all, although some of the minifigures are nice. Good to see one theme that isn't going to torture me all of 2024!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Ok, let's get this straight:

X-Men Jet should actually be BLACKBIRD.
Cyclops definitely needs LEG PRINTING. Period.
Magneto should've been the 90's VERSION as well.
There should have been a buildable SENTINEL in this set, cfr. the earlier set.
There should, it needs, it should, Wolverine should have, there must, ... Oh well, ...

DAMN!! I NEED THIS SET!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I was interested in the X-jet. Was. That price makes the Liebherr look reasonable, it's insane! Plus that Magneto fig is terrible...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yes! Now I’ve got a BAVS for one of the Vic Vipers I’m working on for next year.

Excellent.

EDIT: Hold up. I just saw the price on that X-Jet. $85?!?

Is that a joke? Is that some kind of marketing nonsense meant to generate non-sales? That MSRP is insulting.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was hoping that one ship from The Marvels was just an isolated even where a set was about 40usd way too expensive, but now it's happening again with the X-Jet. I don't like this all. I WANT this set, I LOVE it alot. But that price is WAY TOO JFC. I'm almost flabbergasted at Lego here? Like, I'm pretty sure a majority of the reasoning has to be Disney, but twice is getting ridiculous. At the very least, make it 60usd. YES, it's still expensive. But at least it's SLIGHTLY better. I mean come on, the Rocket Racoon set has 200 more piece but it's 25usd cheaper

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Interested in the Sandman battle and Blackbird, but the price for the latter is unbelievable. Somebody at LEGO needs to knock some sense into whoever’s deciding those ridiculous prices.

And what is with that Magneto? Thank goodness I have the 2012 one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Man, a new X Jet is cool, but I was lucky enough to pick up the first one back when it came out and all things considered, I do not feel incentived at all to get this new one. The Sandman battle add on is pretty neat tho, I do have interest in that for sure

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

X Men jet looks good but the price tag is insane...it is only 359 pieces. and what's wrong with rocket. it looks like a coyote than a racoon

Gravatar
By in United States,

How in the F is the X men jet $85?

Gravatar
By in Malaysia,

Venom Doc Ock in the cheapest set. And new banana piece as well. Nice.

Gravatar
By in United States,

LEGO learned nothing from the Hoopty.
For $80 they could have at least given Wolverine & Cyclops dual-molded legs

They did try with the Quinjet, it sure costs just as much at less than half the pieces.

The builds of Marvel sets have been lacking forever and I have to say, figures aren't even getting repetitive, they stay the same.
Venomizing and preschool stylization kill the appeal of most sets. What is left over always shares a bunch of figure parts with other sets of the line that I only end up buying one product per year at best even though the license could offer so much more.

I would count Daily Bugle as a Web Warriors Bridge sequel. But after X-Mansion, what else could they ever hope to do in that style? Avengers tower isn't it and the Sanctum is kind of a joke. MCU Movie sets can never have that special pull.

I bought some of the 2023 releases on 1 January in the UK, but I don’t know about all sets in all European countries.

Which countries will you be in? If you specify cities, too, you may get recommendations for best shops.

Gravatar
By in United States,

For Marvel, I’ve always been primarily about X-men, fantastic four, and cosmic stuff. Generally in that order, too. I was very excited for a new x jet. But at that price, that is NEVER happening, and as much as I love the merry mutants and their foes- my goodness, I know Magneto has had some terrible costumes over the years, but this might take the crown

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Disgustingly overpriced even by modern LEGO standards. Hard pass on all unless they see some insane discounts.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I’m so excited by the banana!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Repeating an earlier comment, but that is the costume that Magneto will be wearing in X-Men '97 next year. Like it or not, it makes the most sense for merchandise released in 2024. Personally, I have have several Eriks already and welcome a new variant.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Blackbird is an improvement over the previous version, which I bought as I was leaving my dark ages (it was a major impetus for those dark ages to end). And Rogue! Plus another Scott Summers for Wolverine to bully. It's overpriced and redundant to our collection, but unfortunately I will be purchasing it at some point (on sale, I hope!).

Gravatar
By in United States,

That Rocket is a goooood weird!

Probably just so they make a better profit when Walmart and Amazon force them into selling it for 20% less as the standard price. Then again...$85?!

Gravatar
By in United States,

LEGO is straight-up price gouging with that X-Jet price. They know it’s a highly demanded set so they are deliberately overcharging for it.

That said, I kinda love that they went with Magneto’s most TERRIBLE costume he ever had. It’s like Billund is playing a practical joke on us -

“Oh here’s a set that’s about $45 overpriced and a minifig nooooooobody ever asked for. Ya welcome!!” *does a sick kickflip and skates away while giving me two fingers*

76280 feels generally unnecessary; having the whole roster of that scene available is nice but 76261 *technically* already represented Sandman, so the main thing that this set provides that isn't covered by the other is the Lizard.

76282 is the first of these buildable characters that I actually agree looks atrocious. I'm a constraction refugee, so I've been very apologetic towards the mechs and buildable superheroes. but Rocket just reminds me of the pure nightmare fuel that is the constraction Wario MOC that's become a meme."

That was a waluigi, but your point still stands that he looks like a squirrel on 15 pounds of cocaine."

Maybe like a cRac(k)oon?

By in Netherlands,

I do like the warbird and x-jet, but the minifigs ( and the price) puts me off. Less desireable figs for a higher price isn’t my cup of tea. War machine looks dope though!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I'm sure for this price the X-Men jet will included some bricks with actually working anti-gravity matter. Or otherwise we'll get three Hoopties for free as a GWP when buying it at full price.

"Well, good.

Again, would love it if that's the Advent Calendar."

FOMO?!

Who do TLG think they're fooling? ??"

It's priced for all the muppets who go to the Lego store with kids and they can't say no to their kids. The rest of us who want it just get it half price on Amazon!!

I'm going to get the Cyclops, Rogue and Lizard minifigures separate to the sets they are in.

The X-MEN set is very good, although the Magnetto figure is terrible and I would have included another character instead of Wolverine. Cyclops and Rogue are perfect and the machine looks great too.

Jesus effing christ almighty at that xmen jet price. Wow.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

As for pricing, I think LEGO simply writes some numbers on a dice and throws it for deciding on an RRP.
The price for the jet can't be explained any other way. It's beyond absurd.
Good thing I'm not interested. Wouldn't even buy this at 50% off.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I actually kind of like that Spider-Man race car--I might pick that one up if I can find it on sale!

The others are just kind of "meh" to me--but then, I'm not exactly a die-hard Marvel fan either.

And--as others have pointed out--the pricing on that X-Men jet is appalling.

By in New Zealand,

The X-Men jet price is insane elsewhere. It is listed on the NZ store for NZ$110, which is $60 cheaper than the Hoopty, which retails for NZ$170. Much better deal down here so easy day one buy

The Blackbird set is like that overpriced Iron Man armory.
They’re banking on the all new exclusive figs. selling fast by flippers and uber X-Men collectors who can’t wait. They are nice figs.
It’ll eventually come down to normal retail.

Gravatar

I’m surprised they didn’t make another hulkbuster!

By in Netherlands,

Wow... we really are doing 'X-character but he's Venom now' even more huh? I might have been more interested in that Doc Ock of it wasn't so hyper specific.

And that Rocket Raccoon is hilarious. I'm sorry but it's just... wow. Those teeth. Those eyes...

Serious question: why are these figures considered "nice", let alone desirable?
They look completely ordinary to me. No highly intricate printing, two of the figs don't even have printed legs. And what's the source material even? I know the original X-Men movie, which I loved, but I can't recall them wearing any of these outfits, let alone a vehicle that resembles this very generic looking futuristic plane (which for all intents and purposes could be any random non licenced LEGO space type plane).
I just can't see why people would get bent out of shape because of this set. Where's the attraction coming from?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@AustinPowers:
The X-Jet is loosely based on the Lockheed SR-71, even being named the “Blackbird”. Except it has hover mode, doesn’t need to refuel immediately after takeoff, and seats a small army. The specific look does vary quite a bit, depending on the source. The animated series this hails from needed to have a very specific style nailed down, and it had to be something that other animators could endlessly repeat faithfully. A comic book version would probably be a bit more complex.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Those prices have to be a joke...right? The Blackbird is $85 for 359 pieces?! What the hell is happening over there...

Gravatar
By in United States,

X-Men jet caught my eye, and the price is right--except it's about half the size it should be. What a missed opportunity.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@Ridgeheart , @PurpleDave : thanks for the heads up. Didn't know that. Never read any Superhero comics and know Rogue only from one X-Men movie, can't even remember which one. Can only remember she seemed to be wearing quite dark clothing in muted colours then. Didn't even recognize that this clown-coloured fig was supposed to be the same character.

I guess for guys like me these are reminiscent of the fan favorite X-Men animated series from the 90's.
Love Wolverine's details, graphics all around. Rogue the same, nicely detailed, the no helmet Magneto and Cyclops look great too. Not comparing to other figs, more nostalgic of the animated series and comics for fans like me. And the Blackbird very much like the cartoon series look.

Well if you add Cyclops, Storm, and Wolverine from "The Pryde Of The X-Men" pilot, along with the '90's versions of The Beast, Storm, and Wolverine from the Marvel-Saban X-Men animated with the Blackbird well.........................

By in Italy,

Last X-men jet (76022: X-Men vs. The Sentinel) was released in 2014, it was 50eu now this one 85eu. Same number of pieces. 70% price increment in 10 years.
The older one was even better and has +1 minifig.
Not bad.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That is very unfortunate placement of Electro’s hand blast in the promotional image. I tried hard to unsee it… but I just can’t! Why does giant Sandman not have Lego features?

For me, an altogether uninspiring line-up. I’m fortunate enough to have bought the original Blackbird when it was available, but the new set doesn’t do enough to build on the original, other than provide some - albeit very nice - variant mini-figures (but no Sentinel!). The prices are eye-wateringly high. I was comparing the content in City Space sets and the difference in value is gobsmacking. I’d imagine fans will be looking for some generous discounts on these…

I take this as proof of price gouging

By in Philippines,

The first iteration of the X-Jet was already good. This new updated version is great, but some of the minifigures leave a lot to be desired. This is obviously a callback to the '90s animated series, but why on earth can't they stick to Magneto's original classic design there? His first appearance in 2012 (Wolverine's Chopper Showdown) is still the best.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like some of them but the price of the X-Men jet is so expensive!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I went to walmart in hopes of finding the X-Jet but I'm not sure how I forgot about the price! I was thinking it was around $50, then I saw the shelf tag and was absolutely disgusted. This is at most a $60 set. I understand that in recent years Lego prices in anticipation of sets being discounted eventually, but $84 for THIS??? I have the original version from the 2000's and will NOT be picking this up unless it's on clearance or a huge discount. I was really disappointed to find the new set and then end up deciding against buying it. On the other hand, I did pick up https://brickset.com/sets/60430-1/Interstellar-Spaceship for $20 which is a pretty cool new set.
