By in Poland,

Im sooo dissapointed, and this is coming from a Stitch fan. Besides tshirt both earshape and nose look bad... It looks like a pig...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've never heard anyone wish that there was a LEGO capybara, but there it is, and people are going to go crazy over it.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Wish there’d be more focus on movies like Cars and sets like the Up house, with regular minifigures. Instead of everything revolving around princesses or items/side characters

Gravatar
By in United States,

LOVE the new blue Disney branding! I hope they go forward with that for everything Disney from now on

I'm pretty sure there were leaks of more minifig sets in 2024. That being said, I doubt they will be as affordable as the Up house.

I agree with you. It looks like a pig with large teeth!

And the other ones are pretty bland!

I wished there was. That last one was disappointing. I will buy an army of them. They're been my favorite animal since '94

I never thought I'd see Disney cross over with the Botanical Collection. And it seems rumors of DOTS' death may have been greatly exaggerated. I know the commenters don't seem to be very impressed with 43249, but I know I want it. I have both of the Stitch minifigs, so getting a larger one would be nice.

They did say that DOTS wasn't being entirely killed off, but would be folded into other themes instead. Lots of people were wondering what that meant, but now we've seen this set and the Harry Potter set, I think we have a decent idea about how they will be used. Not my cup of tea for most of the DOTS-style sets, but I know a lot of people who will like it.

By in United States,

I didn't know what to expect with for the Stitch fig but I like it except for the sticker flowers on his shirt. Both Encanto sets are interesting too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think the Stitch figure looks great. The only thing I would have liked to see is a way to build Stitch in his 2-arm or 4-arm configuration since he as the ability to hide two of his arms. What would've been the cherry on top is if the set number incorporated "626" in it.

Making a flower set for Isabela from Encanto makes a lot of sense for those who saw the movie. It would have been cool to see other flower types included set since that plays a role in the movie itself.

By in United Kingdom,

Honestly think Stitch looks pretty good, even if that does seem to be a minority opinion; Lego works better at capturing his brand of cartoonish ugly-cute way better it does the more realistic look of Rocket

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really excited for the buildable Stitch! I think he looks great.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I think Stitch looks fantastic. I'm starting to learn that I seem to like buildable characters, not something I knew about myself.

Happy New Year !

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Stitch looks very cute. My only hope is that you can build him without his shirt too.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Lego and Disney: we made a set of the pretty flowers girl because you kids like pretty flowers! Kids: we want the strong lady! She can carry rocks and donkeys!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I think the Stitch looks amazing, it looks a cute fun build, especially when compared to 76282...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Seeing the Stitch set, makes me wonder what the heck went wrong when designing the Rocket one. The only alterations I'd make (besides the ability to have two more arms), would be: 1. Replace the pair of black 1x2 plates in the nose with a pair of dark blue, 2x2 corner plates. 2. Replace the 1x2 slopes with 1x1 tiles. 3. Add a pair of black 1x1 slopes. Et voila, Stitch's nose looks correct!

By in Ireland,

Really like the smug capybara.

By in France,

Oooh my daughter is a huge Encanto fan and if there's a Chispi minifigure now we're doomed ^^

Capybara Capybara!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I will definitely buy Stitch, but will be looking to remove his shirt, and feel his nose needs a tweak, he still looks adorable though.

Was hoping to order the pieces in pink to make Angel too, but the use of those big printed eyes might make that tricky.

I love the Minnie and Mickey (43179) I got a few years back, they have the big printed eye pieces too, but do wish that they’d release a lovely brick-built character without quite so many unique pieces once in a while.

I think it looks like a cross between a zombie and a koala bear.
So actually quite like the real thing, no?

Seriously? Do you work for Disney or else why care about what their "branding" looks like at all?
I on the contrary find it disgusting how Disney seems to be taking over LEGO. I mean, look at the box art of the Stitch set as an example. After all, the Disney logos take up more real estate than the LEGO ones for crying out loud.
Is this a LEGO set or a Disney set?
Whatever, I don't give a toss about this awful company, so their branding for me isn't a selling point but quite the opposite.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

My daughter loves both these movies she'll enjoy building that stitch in particular!

I'm already looking forward to 2024 especially with X-men making a comeback and now these Disney ones!

And a happy new year to you too. How miserable do you have to be to criticise this. I'm not a stitch fan but I think this an absolutely fantastic charactisation using LEGO bricks. This is hard solid chunks of plastic don't forget, and the great thing about Lego is that you can change things around.! I've done a photo comparison and yes the dark spots on its nose can be moved lower. But the ears have been designed to articulate to move with emotions.
If you want a perfect replica of the 2D animation on screen then go to Disney store and buy a cuddly toy.
I on the other hand think this is one of Lego's best screen matched sculpture characters yet, (that doesn't include robots) and look forward to buying one.

Sad to say, but the nose also looks like an U.S. standard electrical outlet...

Think that the flower pot should have been a proper botanical set as can't see it selling too well under Encanto branding.

As for the Stitch.... what the heck is wrong with the designers of character sculptures? Its even worse then Dobby and Chewbacca...

Yeah, I mean Encanto is only the highest-grossing Disney animation of the last 4 years. Where’s the hype?

Have to disagree on Stitch as well. The round blockiness of Lego characters fits much better on animated characters rather than photorealistic ones, he’s much, much more appealing that Dobby or Chewbacca.

I think Stitch is fairly well done, all things considered. As a once-fan and for nostalgia, though, would have preferred to finally get a decent Lilo and Stitch set with the main cast.

I've been putting all the most important characters on our layouts lately. Four-armed Stitch (with four guns), the frog, the truck driver who runs over Stitch...

Speaking of which, I kinda want to buy a second copy of this set, redo the body in red, add two extra arms, four guns, and a frog. Pity they only give you eyes with one expression. At least with the minifigs, the two versions have different eyes.

Think if you'd bothered fact checking, that you'll find it was actually Frozen 2. But when the competition for recent Disney animations have been Raya and the Last Dragon, Strange World and Wish... it's not that hard. But that point you've missed it that most interest in the movie has gone now, and that Botanicals as lego sets have been far better sellers than alot of the licenced sets.

And how are you disagreeing with me, when you've said the exact same sets are terrible? Give your head a wiggle....

In the last 3 years, then. Botanicals have been good sellers, but botanicals-to -licensed sets isn’t a valid comparison, complete apples and oranges. If you were comparing botanicals to licensed botanicals, sure. If anything, adding a license to a small botanical like this would probably only increase the interest.

I’m disagreeing, because you said Stitch is worse than the others. The others are bad. Stitch is not bad. That’s the source of the disagreement.

A more generic Stitch without the shirt, that could also stand up, would've been preferable to this.

@GrizBe:
Frozen 2 released in November 2019, _just_ over four years ago, so the statement is correct...if you exclude Pixar's Elemental. Given how Disney done them dirty during the pandemic, I'm inclined to count Pixar's box office results against them. Soul, Luca, and Turning Red are about to have their long-delayed US releases, so depending on how they perform, I'm prepared to count their eventual totals against them as well.

Wow, um, calm the hell down, bud. I'm a design student and I enjoy seeing the branding / packaging design and what they do with it. No need to go into this weird rant about how much you don't like Disney.

Since when has Stitch NOT looked like a pig?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@The1RealmShifter:
The character is depicted with a more flattened bulb-shaped nose than an actual flat-ended one. The minifigs have an accurate head, but they were molded to match. This, they used SNOT construction to depict the profile and nostrils, and there’s just no way to accurate capture the 3D shape doing that. They could have used some sort of dome like the eyes, and printed the detail, but then you risk straying to the point where it’s all paint and no construction techniques.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The pot of orchids is a fine Botanical set, but the hidden details from Encanto really make it special!

Stitch looks pretty good to me--much more satisfying than the Rocket sculpture.

I might have been able to avoid the Dots set, but given the capybara--maybe not.

Not sure about ’looking’ like a pig, but they have certainly made a pig OF it! Just because something can be made of Lego doesn’t mean it should…

Good line of sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

43239, providing the newish "2x2 tile with 2 quarter-circle cutouts" element in lime and azure, looks to be a useful parts-pack for the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine or other constructs sharing its groovy deco scheme. The 2015 theme (https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Scooby-Doo) had a biplane and speedboat, but it's self-evident that Mystery Inc. also needs a dune buggy, food truck, and Friends-style yacht with water slide. :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Stitch looks amazing, largely because of the eyes being printed pieces rather than brick built. The LEGO Star Wars designers should take note when designing future buildable characters. Printed pieces seem to be the solution to avoid the creepy/uncanny valley factor.

Too bad there isn't a way to modify lego sets to your own personal preferences

Gravatar
By in United States,

One of the few things that would make me like that Stitch more is if it came with another 71012-1.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Interesting. I thought Stitch was unliked, especially with comments such as those on his Brickheadz, but it seems here a lot of people like him. Personally, I like him, the worst part is that the nose is a little too flat.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Oh look, another giant pane for Stitch's eyes. Is it from something else, or did the designers really just create a new pair again just to get those printed eyes on a curved surface effect?

Can't wait to see what other whole 1-2 times those will be used again without print (they seem pretty large).

Well, I suppose the end result does look nice and it might have actually kept the price down, so I'm okay with them.
