If we took one of every iteration of the Sith Infiltrator, how big a version of it could we build using all the pieces?
This Inflitrator isn't much/any better than the last one. The bike is worse (looks like a first draft)- huge missed opportunity. The droids are worse too. They also have no curve.
No wonder the Jedi got away. Maul was blinded by huge clumps of sand in his eyes.
Why are pupils going the way of the kamas? Fire the SW graphic designers!!!
Saw, on the other hand, is pretty good. Yet, his color is too bright, and he should of had a mechanical leg on one side like Echo, or use the leg from 71045-4.
Why didn’t they use the Will Byers hair piece (55532) for Anakin?? It's literally perfect!
Says a lot about leaks that commenting on the lamp post on this announcement feels like extremely tired discourse.
This is my favourite version of the Sith Infiltrator since 2007. It's no doubt too small in terms of scale, but it better reflects the amount of screen time it gets. Maul is the best yet too—his yellow eyes look much better.

Why do they feel the need to give every non-human character blank single-colour eyes these days? Maul has really distinctive, menacing eyes but here they've turned them into glassy yellow orbs with no pupils!
If you can choose to spend 70 studs on a sith infiltrator or 2 1/3 barc speeders, the result should be obvious.
75182 set with 287 pieces cost the same as the speeder which has got 227 pieces...
This model demonstrates how much LEGO has improved in 25 years, since the first one, 7151, was released.
I like the speeder set, it needs a discount of 30%+, though.
Let's just pretend the Sith Infiltrator doesn't exist, ok?
Star Wars: Groundhog Day.
30€ for 3,2 minifigs battle pack? What a bargain! Day 1 purchase for me!

It's a shame we'll probably never get the Nightbrother, Maul's customized Gauntlet fighter seen in Rebels. It would "make a fine addition to [any] collection."
Nice to see Ahmed Best in minifigure form, and depicting the Star Wars role he richly deserved after all he was put through.
That rendition of Bloodfin looks awkward. I see what they tried to do, but in the end it reminds me too much of those awful over-sized speeder bikes and motorcycles that were everywhere in sets around 10 years ago. I also was sceptical on the color choice at first, but it's a strange throwback to the original one from 1999...
Darth Maul himself is uhm... They finally fixed the annoying grin he usually had, but now the eyes look weird? Maybe it's just the render, I'm curious to see an actual photo of the figure.
Getting a Kelleran Beq fig is rad, pretty much a gimme, but still rad. The Infiltrator is pretty decent, but I know they could have made it smoother. Imagine what could be done with some of the newer Speed Champions slopes, oh well. Saw Gerrera is the main draw for me, freaking finally, even if I think the color matching could be a bit better. It's great to get Qui-Gon too, it's nuts how many years it's been since his last availability.
Good stuff, definitely not day one FPJ kinda stuff though. Easy snags with solid discounts or as GWP threshold breakers.
I literally hate new (blind looking) sith eyes

A version 2,600* pieces big.
*excludes advent calendar builds
This, 7663 and 7961 are probably my favourite Infiltrators.
The first leaks of Saw made him look like he was regular green. I was shocked and gutted they didn't at least make him dark green (if they really didn't want to make him grey). Recent images seem to show him as dark green after all. I wonder if they changed him at some point or if it was just a case of bad renders.
How is it that they got Maul's face perfect in 1999, and every version since has been a downgrade?
That may be an exaggeration to some, but to me, they really nailed his look back in the day, there was no need to exaggerate certain features over the years, but this is the most egregious because the pupils really sell the Sith Eye look. Sith Eyes are already unnatural, but if you're going by minifig logic, it's actually even more unnatural because there's a pupil and iris, don't get rid of the pupils. I can somewhat understand why the eyes are blue on characters like Ahsoka or Hera and Luminara and Barriss, it's not too distracting, although it is still a bit odd, but for characters like Maul or Palpatine, it affects their look too much that it becomes distracting to have no pupils. There are a couple instances where no pupils works, like Kanan's gray eyes because he's blind, and Ventress' white eyes (it actually does match her look from the Clone Wars Microseries), but Sith eyes being all yellow with no pupil makes it feel like they have some kind of disease that makes them actually blind.
The speeder set is awfully light in actual content for £25. Sure, the PPC is reasonably close, and it does have 3 1/2 figures, but looking at the whole? Doesn't seem like a lot.
The infiltrator looks nice, but it's a shame to see prices for individual ships creep back up. The £45 X-wing and £35 Tie were a nice move, and a £60 Infiltrator is better than say, an £80 infiltrator, but as a single seater/personal ship, it would feel nicer if they had fit it into a sub-£50 price bracket, in the same spirit as the last Tie and X-wing.
$30 for a speeder AND a light pole...
The Disney tax is getting ridiculous... both of these sets should be half the price they want.
The Sith Infiltrator is like my favorite ship, but this is definitely not even the best rendition. Add to it the weird Maul (and why doesn’t he have a hood? That’s, like, a thing in this scene…), I doubt I’ll even bother picking this up secondhand, the previous ones were better

Pshaw! Lego in general may have improved but 7151 was and is a classic! Considering what City Lego looked like that year, this was an exciting set!

Smaller than you might expect - due to the square-cube law and also allometry.

Regular minifigs have black eyes with white pupils. Sith having yellow eyes with white pupils is just common sense IMO.

Even then I thought it looked pretty bad compared to other Star Wars sets. Nevertheless I bought one at a large discount.
Glad to see two reasonably priced sets that I’d like for May the 4th. I always need sets like these to get the GWP and I was afraid there wouldn’t be any that I actually want this year. Now I just have to hope we get a decent GWP.
This stuff has already been covered by all the big LegoTubers already. So I've seen enough to know that dark green was the worst color choice for Saw Gerrera's armor.
I do think that the plain yellow eyes on Darth Maul actually look pretty cool though.

Was my idea too when that came out but the sides going in one straight line as opposed to Anakins steps make Anakin look too geeky for my taste. This is why I opted for the 2001 Ron Weasly hair in tan that came with that one Ninjago City set a few years ago.

No, common sense would be to flip the colors around so when the outer circle has been changed from a dark to a light color the inner circle should change to its opposite likewise. The white is barely distinguishable from the yellow and also looks like it sits too high compared to the Anakin next to him.
That's why 2012 Maul was perfection.
Looking at the 2017 and 2020 heads it seems they have used the exact same design for Maul just with the inner most black dot removed. In a way this fixes the way 2020 Crimson Dawn Maul looks crosseyed but now he really just looks blind.
It is funny how this goes because Palpatine got this same upgrade in 2023 but looks more lifelike and less cartoony than his previous heads. I think the greatest issue with figures that have colored eyes stems from the size of the innermost pupil dot, it should be smaller than on the 2017-2022 Palpatine design but is it really that much bigger than they did them in 2000-2013?
I wonder how this Maul would look like had they made the currently white inner eye circle black and moved it slightly lower. Because just changing it black it would come in contact with his black skin. Oooh boy, does anyone still remember the Heath Ledger joker pupil discussions and how Lego made a grey circle around his eyes because his face would be just pitch black in that area otherwise? Now those were the days...
I think whatever Lego does will look out of system in some way (since colored eyes are an out of system idea already) so they should just stick with the first solution which would be closer to the 2012 shirtless Maul face or they should really just for once try coloring the inner pupil a color other than white for these irregular characters.

That the speeder is way oversized adds much more to the price tag.
In my opinion this set could have been a 19,99-16,99 battlepack pricetag. BARC speeder the size of the 2011 battlepack + 3 minifigures and a Grogu that costs less than a minifig to make.
So if they wanted to wring out enough for a 30$ tag they should have included more light posts or maybe removed the troopers and made a microfighter.

Calling for the firing of people because you don’t agree with the design choices made for a tiny toy is pretty low.
ANYWAY, I like the lack of pupils on Maul; it feels on-brand for LEGO and I like that it’s in line with the most recent Emperor we’ve gotten. If I pick up the Infiltrator, though, it will be at discount and mostly for Saw. The Mandalorian set is fine, but I crave a BARC speeder that feels like it is scaled appropriately; they’ve always been so massive!
On the topic of Maul's eyes: if you look at pretty much every minifigure of an alien that uses a normal head piece in the last 10 years, they always have some kind of pupiless eye. Barriss Offee. Ahsoka Tano. Hera Syndulla. The Mythrol that everybody unjustly hates. There have been a few exceptions, like Aayla Secura and Lys Solay, but my point here is that LEGO is trying to make a consistent design for their alien minifigures that I think has been working pretty well. And doing it for Sith, with Asajj Ventress, Palpatine, and now Maul, is a good choice as well.
Does make you wonder why Vader doesn't have the eyes yet. It would look really cool though.
I'm just happy to see that Qui-Gon still uses the same piece for his hair. They really nailed that mould back in 1999!

For some reason, he looks like regular green on the box. IRL he's dark green.
That might be the ugliest rendition of the Sith Infiltrator I've seen, next the original. (Which gets a pass since it was made in 1999.)
And no fault of LEGO. But I greatly dislike that the TCW version of the BARC was used. Should have been the film version.
These models look fine, and I will purchase both of them.
It’s wild how many Infiltrators we’ve gotten over the years while we still haven’t gotten the Naboo royal yacht that the main characters are in for most of the movie
Ooh! I'm liking that new maul minifig!
75383 wouldn't be a bad pick with 40% or 50% off in a clearance. Too bad we don't have discounts here in Brazil, on top of paying like 10x more than the rest of the world.

They haven't been consistent on it and I think they should have settled on the design with the black, e.g. Barriss Offee in 2010, Saesee Tiin and Agen Kolar in 2012, Aayla Secura in 2017, Ki-Adi Mundi in 2018, the Grand Inquisitor in 2015 and Bib Fortuna and Oola in 2012. All these characters have human eyes (albeit with different colours), not glassy orbs.

You know what's REALLY low? Saying mean things to people on the internet who're saying mean things. Pretty low, man. Pretty low.
Besides, they totally deserve to be fired! Case in point: pen stripe kamas, vacant stare Siths, pink Foxey, all white girls look the same Padme, Endork Luke, gimmie no Fives helmet, and now... leprechaun Saw.
I'll diatribe some more at you upon request.
I know the SW designers get a lot of flak, still, that shouldn't mean criticism cannot be allowed. That Sith Infiltrator is absolutely terrible. The front is messy, the slope up toward the cockpit inaccurate, the bottom of the back sphere does not use rounded corner elements like before, making that section look like a jagged mess. The probe droids are worse than before and the speeder bike looks horrendous. I have no idea how this happened with the current parts pallette and techniques available. I think the only thing I like is the greebling in between the front section and back sphere.

The Sith Infiltrator is up there in my top 3 favorite Star Wars vehicles. I was really hoping to like this one… but they keep making them way too bulky. As such, I am now resorting to designing my own.
It’s strange that Saw’s armor appears bright green on the box, but is the more accurate dark bluish-green in the lifestyle photos….

I don't think either of those would work for the figure. If you look at official images, you only see a mechanical foot. It's covered by his pants just above the ankle. Stuff like the prosthetic leg (which go up to the figure's "knees") would be overkill. Printing the foot works fine.
Anyways, I view the Sith Infiltrator as a step up from 2015 (which was too blocky/messy, in my opinion). Renders often have weird lighting - the new one definitely looks better in person.
they ain't even trying anymore, seriously
I think there is something interesting to point out here with the comments above.
I don't think any LEGO product is above criticism, imperfections are worth pointing out and as consumers we deserve to ask for our money to be valued by offering a quality product. LEGO is imperfect and even good sets have some flaws which can be asked for improvement.
On the flip-side, the LEGO Star Wars community has gathered a reputation for being hypercritical. It makes criticism (even legit valuable criticism) of a LEGO product harder, since the assumption is LEGO Star Wars fans are collectively greeble-counters who throw a fit over inane details. It's not something that can really be controlled, now that the collective image is out there; many other LEGO fans will forever tease the LEGO Star Wars segment for being focused on all the wrong things. This image is further exaggerated in that many content creators on YouTube, TikTok, etc. are monetizing this hyper-criticism of LEGO Star Wars through video content.
At this point I don't have any solutions to offer for that, beyond hopefully raising awareness among other LEGO Star Wars fans to be a tad self-aware here at least; and know the sort of reputation that precedes us now.
Two very good sets! But I will only be getting 75378.
I don't know why they keep making the front of the Sith Infiltrator a weird jumble of different shapes and pieces, when it's really one continuous, smooth thing.
7961 got that part right once in 2011, and then they promptly ballsed it up again with 75096 four years later.
A couple tastefully angled wing plates would do just fine here, no need to involve curved slopes when the real thing is all straight lines!
Reducing the scale of these ships (to reduce price) isn't working. Minifigure scale would be too much (outside of UCS), but they need to up it a bit.

The problem is that LSW is a theme based on remaking around ~40 ideas in different ways throughout the years. No other Lego theme really does this, save for some sets of movies like Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, or the Space and Pirate remake sets from the last couple of years.
Because of this, people tend to very much compare the sets to previous versions, knowing that "well the speeder could be smaller like this set, or Maul looked better in that set". Without some more of the context in thinking of, well this might be a kid's first set with Darth Maul and he'll like to have a figure of him in any way, not some collector's 5th Maul ship. Of course there will be some ups and downs in changing design, things that worked and things that didn't. I say just let Lego do something slightly different each time!
I’m calling this one the Fifth Infiltrartor.
Anyone else suddenly have duel of the fates stuck in their head?
I had the first version 7151 and I don't buy spaceships nowadays but I feel like I have to get this one .. nice job Lego!
Damn you LEGO for putting Saw Gerrera in this set. I could care less for the ship and other figs but I need that Saw Gerrera!
Personally, I don't care much for the Barc Speeder Escape other than the 501st troopers, the light post, and the fact that this is the first set to be based on the Jedi temple or the portion of Order 66 that took place in that location. Sadly, I don't care much for Kelleran Beck as a character, but that's because I haven't gotten very far in the Mandalorian yet. However, despite my apathy for it, I think it's existence is worthwhile and those who enjoy it will have a lot of fun with it.
On the other hand, I'm in love with the Sith Infiltrator. I was too young when the first one was released, and if I was aware of Lego's existence at the time, I was certainly unaware of the 2007 version. I thought the 2015 version was a little too large, although it is flatter than this version. That being said, I don't see any fatal flaws with this version, even if this is a little bumpier than the previous versions. The figures are fine, although it would have been nice if Padme or Panaka were included like the rumors suggested. The choice of dark green for Saw Gerrera is interesting and inaccurate, although I think regular green or yellow would be far more egregious than what they chose. I'm uncertain whether I'd get it though.
I like the new Sith Infiltrator. Definitely looks a lot better in the physical product images and the video on Lego's website. It has all the features of the previous sets and there are some really nice details and parts usage, but it's cheaper and won't take up as much room on display!
The Scimitar (Sith Infiltrator) may be like the recent Tie Fighter, in that it might look better in-hand than in photos.
The need to hit a certain price point while keeping those nice Lego margins in this economy has led this set to be a bit smaller than preferred. And I say that as a fan of the shrinking of Star Wars ships over the last several years.
Definitely going to get this awesome set

Not sure what movie you watched. In Rogue One he has two metallic feet. That's literally how they introduce him in his first full body scene.
My preference would be for the sprinter leg because over-exaggeration is the Lego distinctive trait. I would also enjoy something in the same vein as Echo for his other leg.
What is unacceptable is for Lego SW to blather on about the corporate limitations (which don't seem to affect Friends, CMFs, etc.), and tell us that toe printing is: 'As Good as it Gets' which is the KKK rendition of gramps' 'Only the Cheapest Will Turn a Quick Buck.'
Lego loves to blather about diversity (have you ever seen a Lego employee of color... I haven't). But, when disability representation involves Star Wars, then it can be adequately adressed with 'toe prints.'

A quite horrible iteration of the Sith Infiltrator in my opinion...
I would have thought they can do so much better these days with all of the parts they have available thanks to Speed Champions and modern techniques... The 'body of the ship (where the cockpit is) seems to be done well, but the middle and front of the ship are so rough - they should have gone for plates at an angle rather than this, and the underside is even worse - just not close to the source material either!
At least the play features look fun.
Regardless, these sets will both sell despite themselves because of the minifigures on offer.
This is by far the WORST Sith Infiltrator that LEGO has done so far. It's completely off the mark.
25 years later and they still can't get the design right.
And for that price? Ahahahahah nope.
As for the other set...it's based on Disney-Star Wars garbage, so I don't care.
I would have prefered another spaceship than the boring Sith Infiltrator.
Saw Gerrera is nice and I might be getting him on Bricklink.

Why would he have a mechanical leg? The set is a prequel set. During the prequel years, Saw didn't have a mechanical leg yet. The videogame Jedi: Fallen Order takes place between the prequel and original trilogies and features Saw as a significant character, and he's walking and flying around wearing two normal boots in it.
Sigh Saw Guerrera in a set not of his, that street lamp looks gorgeous but, too many Grogu's.

I really think my biggest issue alone with the Inflitrator is the front slope - I'm not sure if there's a design reason I'm just not getting, but why not use larger wedge pieces to do this better? It just looks really awkward, and the price itself makes it enough to easily pass. I was sad to see it though, I've been itching for more prequel sets. My last Infiltrator was the one from 2007, which is very aged in design at this point (as much as I have nostalgia for it). Missed the next two renditions because I was not spending much on Lego at that time. Unfortunate - the 2010s had some very good Star Wars sets. I'm finding myself much less interested in what comes out nowadays (not bad, just not personally worth the higher costs nowadays).
Don't have many thoughts on the BARC speeder set myself, not one I was likely to go for anyway. Just a shame on the Infiltrator...
