By in United Kingdom,

I love the look of some of the new Star Wars Figs, just what I needed as my interest was starting to fade slightly with all the repeated ones. Can't judge the Marvel ones until I see the film and know who the characters are. Is that a Raccoon driving the spaceship??? Weird!!

By in United Kingdom,

I am quite excited by a good few the Star Wars sets, we don't have an At-At so we will go for that, same for the Star Destroyer and the B-Wing.

The Cantina is a must, though I will probably buy 2 I think as it's a little bit too small and there are 5 members of the Band.

I also like the look of the two droids and the Ilthorian in the Jedi Scout set.

Still not too sure on the ISD. The newer one doesn't seem to look as good, especially the 4 cannons on the side. As the owner of the older version, I think I'll pass on that. The cantina and AT-AT look pretty good though.

Not knowing the source material, these GoG sets are UTTERLY boring aside from the new head/helmet molds. Snazzy pistol, too, but the sets just come off as generic sci-fi casualties.

Snowspeeder is pretty cool, but what's the little pile of trans-blue in the middle of the picture? Cantina is neat, but could have been MUCH more. A slightly larger set at $99 with about 4 more minifigs of the "background riff-raff" instead of the Dewback would have been perfect. Shame because apparently they've molded Hammerhead already. And apparently, he's a Jedi now, according to that Jedi Scout Fighter set. Wonder how that happened? Nice to have the band, though.

By in Serbia,

Why are there 2 Luke an 2 Han minifigs in the cantina set?

By in United Kingdom,

Been looking at the prices for these sets on Amazon... £45 for 76020 seems far too much considering what you get. But I could do with that raccoon guy for my minifig collection! :-)

But there's definitely a few bits and bobs I'll grab in the Summer!

By in United States,

Sad to see that no one else is excited for the GoG sets. I can't WAIT to get my hands on groot and rocket!

Gravatar
By in United States,

What's the deal with the trans-colored rods in each of the SW pics? Is this some new piece that is so special that Lego feels it needs to be shown separately?

Gravatar
By in United States,

jpetrasich, they're projectile spring loaded "laser beams". Showing all the parts

Gravatar
By in United States,

GotG, interesting figs; prices too High for an obscure hero series.
SW: Original Trilogy sets look great but I think Lego has gone full Hasbro with projectile weapons (i HATE the new projectile pistols!) and prices are getting too high to be a collector of repeat sets.

By in United Kingdom,

Out of all the pictures we've seen for the 2014 summer sets it's the Minecraft, Ghostbusters and Guardians of the Galaxy sets. This year i'm hooked on the direct to consumer sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

mametzger1, I know! my first reaction was "Groot!!". I was happy to see Rocket as well; maybe you have to like those particular comics or cartoons for the excitement to apply.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm definitely loving the Guardians of the Galaxy sets! I wish we would have gotten Thor 2 and Captain America sets too

Gravatar
By in Indonesia,

Loving Mos Eisley Cantina, but I'm with bogdanst- WHY are there 2 Luke and Han Solo figs?!?! I suppose 1 luke is supposed to go in the landspeeder and the other in the bar, but it is still fairly bizarre. They should have included the other 2 band members or the barman or random background characters instead. Seriously!

Gravatar
By in United States,

There aren't actually two Hans and two Lukes. For whatever reason, each are shown twice to illustrate that they have different facial expressions.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Don't really like the GotG sets, but I don't really know of them as I do of other main stream superheroes. I'll wait to pass judgment on them until I see the movie. Love the new Snowtroopers, and the cantina. Unfortunately my wallet will hate me again.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have the original cantina, not sure it's worth $69 to update.

I have the motorized AT-AT, so not buying another one.

The Star Destroyer is interesting, but once again, the price gives me pause.

Legos in general and Star Wars Legos specifically, have gotten rather expensive this year.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Groot!!!

By in United Kingdom,

I wish they'd given us at least ONE extra strange bar dweller in the cantina set. We get Han, Ben, Luke and a stormie that are easy to come by in other sets, plus three identical band members. In some ways it's cool that Lego made it so you could get all the band by buying two sets, but I'd be a lot happier with two band members and a walrus face or someone. Ditch Han and give us someone else cool, too. People can still easily pick Han up in his microfighter set - even if it does mean that we can't do do the Han/Greedo scene straight out the box.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@binaryeye: I Googled other images, and the actual minifigs for the Cantina are: 1 Sandtrooper, 3 cantina band members. 1 Greedo, 1 Luke, 1 Han, 1 Ben (total 8 minifigs).

So I think I will be picking this set up. But not the Star Destroyer.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Brainslugged
Well, you NEED Han to recreate the Greedo scene, and it only makes sense to have Obi Wan and Luke. But the Stormtroopers are from the surrounding scenes and that and the landspeeder could/should have been dropped for more of the bar/a bartender, etc.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@mkrey:
I totally agree. Might just hit the Pick-A-Brick this year instead of buying sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Cantina is the set I am most excited for this summer. The sets I am really excited about this year though is the Hobbit sets coming out at the end of the year!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I noticed, that unlike the other Star Wars where they just line up the figures, the new Star Wars set pictures show the figs running in random directions or facing each other as if in a little meeting. The Cantina also shows two Hans and two Lukes. Weird.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I've got the original Cantina set but won't let my son play with due it's re-sale value, so I'll be picking up one or two of the new ones.

I've got a motorised AT-AT but it's not much fun without batteries so one of the new ones is on my list too.

I've got the UCS B-Wing but not a minifig sized one so I'll be getting one of those, especially for the pilots!

Never got an original ISD so one of those too

...in fact all of this Summer's wave of Star Wars sets....it's gonna be expensive along with the Sandcrawler too!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

... Just looked up the prices and I hope the Snowspeeder doesn't convert from $30 dollars to £30! For £40 last year we got a Snowspeeder, more minifigs, a Tauntaun and more bricks. As I'm working on a Hoth MOC with my son, Snowspeeders and white bricks are always handy but I hope this set is priced at £20 like the current wave of of small Star Wars starfighters

By in Belgium,

Hmm, just noticed that Amazon UK has ceased free shipping to Belgium (and from the looks of it to most countries). Oh joy, we're back to "guess what the actual cost will be and discover that the discount is nowhere near as big as you hoped."

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lego is still getting more expensive, and the only set I see worth getting is the Cantina. I do really hope Lego drops the Snow Speeder price to about 25 US$, because we are basically getting stuff we have gotten before. Also, am I the only one who has noticed a lot of Lego guns are starting to look Halo-ish? The GoG pistol in the main image looks like a Covenant Plasma Pistol.

By in United Kingdom,

My 11 yr old is hugely excited for GotG - but mostly he wants Rocket and Groot. The Milano is a nice design and the smaller sets have a good spread of characters from the movie. It looks as though only The Collector isn't a minifig at this point?

Gravatar
By in United States,

In regards to GoG I see Star Lord, Groot, Rocket, and Gamora but no Drax. Am I just missing him? Surely there are more figures with the larger set at that price. And surely they wouldn't put out four of the five characters??

Gravatar
By in United States,

Never mind, just saw that drax is included in the Milano but all the images I see for him are grey. Is that just a demo? To answer the question I excited about the GOG sets and a couple of Star Wars sets. I was too broke with all of the previous AT-AT sets so that and the cantina are on my list.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

No Thor 2 or Cap 2 sets, only GotG? Lego does seem to have an odd priority with its Marvel licence.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Can not wait for 76020, Knowhere Escape Mission, I want Rocket and Groot!!

Can't wait for this movie!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Guardians looks great. I am still actually in disbelief that this movie got made in the first place.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

AT-AT is looking good, seems like they fixed the biggest problem with the last one, the sides coming off all the time. But given I have the old one, not worth getting it. I don't have the old ISD or Cantina though :) The number of old, major sets that have come out for the original trilogy in the last 2-3 years (Falcon, Sail Barge, X-wing, Tie Fighter, ISD) makes me think they're clearing the decks, I wonder if we're going to get any original trilogy next year when the new Star Wars comes out.

I'm really glad they put Rocket Raccoon and Groot in the same set, because really, if you like GotG, those are the two figures you're going to want. I AM GROOT!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Groot and Rocket....yes please!

Gravatar
By in United States,

GotG is going to be a total sleeper hit, but it seems to be aimed at a slightly older audience than the LEGO target demographic. I'm excited for both the movie and the sets, but I don't see them as being too popular with kids.

I'm just excited that we have so much Marvel movie awesomeness this summer. Cap 2, ASM 2, X-Men: DoFP, and GotG all in one season? I believe the term is w00t!

Gravatar
By in Viet Nam,

I reckon the GotG sets will be more desirable once I see the film.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm in for all of the Guardians of the Galaxy sets. That movie looks like pure fun! The only Star Wars set I'd be interested in is the cantina as I missed the last version.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think these two themes alone will bankrupt me this year. I am in love with both. I confess,I am a closet Rocket Raccoon lover. I fell for the little guy during marvel's Anihilation events and haven't looked back. Starlord too. The sets look cool, and the subject has the potential to add some much needed play vehicles to the Lego Marvel line. The horrid spider bikes, copters and such just need to quietly go away and die.

The Summer Star Wars wave looks 1000x better than this recent winter one. OT goodness! Redo's of classic huge sets that I never had the chance to get. And a cool looking new Smuggler / grungy end of the Star Wars universe type ship in the Ghost. I'm kind of a sucker for those. (Ok excepting the gods awful Twilight.) all this plus new Agents! Somebody pinch me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Chocolate "No Thor 2 or Cap 2 sets, only GotG? Lego does seem to have an odd priority with its Marvel licence."

Yeah, I wish there were some Thor sets too, at least a new minifig or 5. The Dark Elf sword ships were pretty awesome actually, and would've made great sets.

Cap was covered in a new Cap vs. Hydra set: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Captain-America-vs-Hydra-76017?fromListing=listing

It seems they're splitting the difference with trying to do some cartoon-based sets (Cap's is from Avengers Assemble) and movies. My guess is the Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel sets didn't sell so hot so they're trying to keep kiddos happy without putting all their eggs in one basket.

Gravatar
By in United States,

While I'm definitely excited about the GOTG movie I will say that I'm disappointed with the sets a little. My main dislike is Groot. He looks awful. I don't know if any of you play the lego marvel video game but they should have stuck with that look or at least something in that range. Not this robotic looking mess they made. I will still buy them tho lol

The Star Wars stuff is rad tho. Especially the "These are not the droids youre looking for scene"
