By in Denmark,

Beautiful set! Day one purchase for me

Gravatar
By in United States,

It’s a son 76908 and a father!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really nice rendition...I'll probably grab it eventually. I wish it were red but not a deal breaker.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I feel like that box art looks like an 80s poster in some boy's room. Except, there's one glaring omission. Does that make me a bad man?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

As an Lambo fan, this is an instant buy! Wish it was red or yellow though.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Loved it until the price. The Lambo tax is insane. This is going to need a 40% discount.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Stunning!!
But why white?!
I know it’s a classic colour for this car, but so is red and yellow and even black….. and the Porsche 911 from a couple years ago was also white!
I’ll still buy it …. But hoping they re-release in red in a couple years!……

Gravatar

Now do a Ferrari Daytona Spyder in black.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

**Gasp** my childhood poster car. I love it. But sad to say those wheel arches are all wrong…

Gravatar

I agree white was a bad choice: in 5 years' time it'l be a patchy mess of white and yellowy-white...

Do you read comments ? It's day one purchase, $160 like it's nothing. I read similar on FB as well. Times are indeed good it seems

If only it came in another colour.

I looked at the set and thought "oof" and then I looked at the real car and now I understand. That would have been hard to do, I suspect. Yeah it still looks funky, but...I'd take it.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Also, no stickers? Certainly seems it could be just a handful of printed pieces.

But yikes, keep this (and the 911) as far from the sun as you can. These would look like barn finds...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

You can have any colour you want as long as it's white.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

I'd love it if it was yellow. I'll just have to build it, stick it in the window and wait a year

Gravatar
By in Poland,

That car is something special, but yellowing will be total pain to watch over the years.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yay, yet ANOTHER 18+ race car.
Who cares? Not me.

remember to turn its sides every other week...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I agree that white was not a great color choice. However, the set looks quite nice - I'm especially interested in how the back half of the car is constructed, particularly around the taillights.

I also think some commenters need to become a little more realistic. I do think this should be $150 as opposed to $180, but to say it needs to be 40% cheaper to be worth a buy is also rather unrealistic.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lego releases Porche 911. Fan rebuilds it into Countach. Lego realizes that they could do the same thing by only adding a new wheel element and a few printed pieces. Lazy. The most iconic colors for this car were 1. red 2. yellow 3. black 4. white. This set should be a different color. Maybe Lego will pull a Fiat?

Gravatar
By in United States,

It is very nicely done. I agree it should've been in a different color, like black or red. I'll stick with smaller SC Countach I have.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As someone who has never collected these and knows very little about cars, all of these car sets look the same. If you told me this has been released 5 times already I would believe you.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Given that one of the most popular MOCs for the 911 was to make a Countach, I look forward to an extremely popular MOC of this to make a 911.

I understand why they don't do black. Details would be so hard to pick out, and it's not like this is a movie car where it's very specific. Red would be good but I wish they'd done yellow.

Gravatar

It will be a day 1 buy for me, but man do those tires look like an awful choice

Gravatar

Oh so now they can get the tire proportions, right?

Gravatar

@Derp_Riot said:

from the pics on the back of the box it seems like dual tires in back, so not a new tire :/

Gravatar
By in Italy,

Wrong Tires as usual

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Great looking car, although I think the box art is awful. Heavy shadows on a white car just emphasises every join and imperfection. Looks much better in the lifestyle pictures.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I would want to like this.....but some details are putting me off. the sides look too flat, and the wheel arches don't look right at all, especially the rear ones. Even when the SC version certainly wasn't perfect either, in that scale it bothers me not as much.

That said, the rear view looks absolutely spot-on though. Very nice shaping! And I love the wheels!

That price though....desperateley needs a 30%+ discount...

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

@Reventon said:

Give it time, it'll turn yellow...

I'm not convinced. Proportions seem off... And then the price...

Gravatar
By in Jordan,

I think it looks like a fantastic set. A different colour would've been nice, and the price is a little high, but the biggest thing preventing me from wanting to buy it is the fact it's a Lamborghini Countach :P

Gravatar
By in Spain,

It's probably just me, but.... does this Countach look a little bit uglier than the Speed Champions one?

Gravatar
By in Spain,

Looks like it doesn't have the distinctive pop-up lights.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Any white Lego set is an instant no-no unfortunately just because it will look like piss a few years later. That said, it is fine but it is too similar to the already existing 911 alternative build.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I'm OK with it being white. As @dimc pointed out, in black the details would be harder to see. And let us not forget, Lego has trouble with colour consistency, most noticeable in red and yellow.

Gravatar

Yes, but does it transform?

Baby blue?

Top of the doors are a little 'chunky', but 'it is what it is'/'what can you do'; but overall it does look good. It's also funny TLG stuck with white for the color, mirroring with 'junior':)

This isn't a 180€ set.
I'll still get it though, discounted of course. Already got the little Speed Champions version.

That one looks so much better imho. Thanks for sharing.

On the official one so many of the proportions look totally off to me. The far too large taillights in particular, but also the wheel arches, as well as the angle of the bonnet, which looks to steep.

I must admit I'd rather buy those MOC instructions on Rebrickable, or the black unofficial Cannonball Run version from the alternative brand that must not be named. At least there I can also get the matching police car from the opening credits, as well as the ambulance from J. J. and Victor.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Decent likeness, that!

While I understand the concerns about the use of white from a longevity perspective, it's arguably the most appropriate colour for the 5000 QV IMHO. I think they also came in red (which would have been a good alternative although maybe a bit too "Ferrari"), black (not great for showing off the bodywork) and yellow, plus a bunch of "special request" colours.

Gravatar

Enjoy it being yellow in 2-3 years

Gravatar

White AGAIN???!!! How unimaginative.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think overall it looks decent. I do really like that MOC version from the Porsche. I had considered buying a second Porsche to build that. So do I stick with the official version or skip it altogether?

White does seem to be the iconic color for this car, so I understand. In recent past they did a black Camaro and a red Corvette, so another color could have been welcome. Didn't they do a large technic one in lime green or orange or something? That could have been neat (but the other color that the technic one wasn't).

$180 is steep for me these days, so I'll put it on the backburner and see how I feel when I gather funds for other sets first.

Ohhhhh, it transforms- from pristine bluish-white to something that looks like it spent too much time in a pub's water closet.

I'm loving all this white color bashing. I suppose to many of us have had a bad experience.

I just discovered that my 75187 is going to need a lot of part replacement. Looks like it spent too much time on Jakku! In reality, it has NEVER been in the sun. At least the funky parts are easily replaced.

My 10295 lives in the basement and looks great. I was just thinking that after 10317, the only other thing necessary for my ‘80s/90s garage was a Countach, and here we are.

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

I love the car but I have the speed champion version and it's just fine. Comes with a minifigure, too.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I hope the product photos are off... because it looks like a stubby parody of the real car. Firas on rebrickable made a very decent alternative model that had a better hood/frunk than this messy front end. Let's hope a good MOD will be available soon after release. Also the length and wheelbase look way off when i compare the real car and the schematic on the back of this box. Lego usually get's those dimensions quite close.

Ha! I'm actually currently building that fan model from Rebrickable, so no need for this one. Will only judge how much better/worse/value for money this is after finishing the one based on the 911. Does look pretty good imho.

I never knew it was a Quattrovalvole! Looks great from the rear with the light detailing really spot on to the original. Just the side looks a bit squashed to me as if hit a brick wall in the last photo. The ratio of height to length seems wrong, but maybe the original has weird relative dimensions as well.

Gravatar
By in United States,

What I want to know is why the negative comments about Firas_Legocars on Rebrickable ? He designed this car from Kit 10295 Classic Porsche 911 long before the Lego version as an alternative build and it is very nice. I bought his instructions and built it from a 2nd 10295 kit I own. Just because you don’t like the way it looks in a photo doesn’t necessarily mean it is a bad design. We can say the opposite about the 1/4 pounder. Looks great on the ad but looks nothing like that when you order it.
