Technically, the Lincoln Futura on which the Batmobile was created was originally made in 1955. Also, this needs to be said:

'TO THE BATMOBILE!'

Seriously? Considering its size of the car I would have thought it would fit easily. Weird....

But damn, I like this thing! And even the price seems quite decent!

Seems like the logo on the side is a sticker though, that's a bit unfortunate.

I can't answer the "Will you be buying this set?" question until I find out if this set comes with shark repellent or not...

By in United States,

This looks gorgeous! Never watched the original series but this is one of my favorite Batmobiles because of the black and red color scheme. Robin and the Joker minifigures should've been included but the build looks great and I love the new molds for the windshield.

I really love these oversized Batmobile sets and hope we see The Batman one in this scale someday. I wouldn't mind the Batman v Superman one, either.

I've got the 89' Batmobile, gotta get this one too. Hopefully there's a good GWP or extra Insider's points.

Yup, fins like that didn't make it out of the 50s. Regrettably...

Wouldn't that be more appropriate for the Bat-Copter?

It's cool, but not for me.

By in Canada,

I just don't know about this one. It looks off.

The red pinstripe thickness should be consistent across the entire vehicle and it fluctuates a lot between 1-3 plates. The stair-stepping on the side fins is particularly distracting.

The clear headlights should be behind a grille/mesh, and the enclosure around them should be a little bigger.

Even the grey at the top of the bubble domes seems ultra-thick and might have looked much cleaner and more accurate as prints.

It's lost a lot of it's sleekness. The parts just aren't really there to make this work, IMO. Maybe with a lot of extra printed pieces to help get the red stripes to a more consistent width, but I'm sure that wasn't in the cards for this.

The designer(s) did the best they could with what was available to them, I'm sure. The end result just misses the mark enough to be distracting to me.

By in United States,

I will get it eventually. Since I have the Tumbler and '89 Batmobile, I might as well get this also.

I think they did a good job with the shaping and details. The thicker gray around the windscreens doesn't bother me.

I still like my minifigure scale version.

Very nicely done. But what I really want is a Batman The Animated Series Batmobile in this scale!

By in United Kingdom,

A definite day 1 purchase. I guess it will also be Winter Village release time. October looking expensive. Maybe the scary Mona Lisa will have to wait a bit!

I concur. The rear end of the tail fins is printed to mitigate jagged lines, but the front is not?

The fenders are rounded squares, whereas IRL they are semicircular. LEGO was able to mitigate this on 10248 which released in 2015, but can't in 2024?

Like it, but where is Robin?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It comes to something when one of the features they promote is that the wheels go round...!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

So rotatable wheels are a USP? Rotating wheels are not steering wheels right?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

"For added convenience, a digital version of the set’s building instructions can be found on the LEGO Builder app."

Does this imply there won't be a printed book of instructions included with the set?

Didn't one of the Beetles have non -rotating wheels?

I'm fairly certain that most, if not all set descriptions promote the LEGO Builder app as a feature. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about with that!

Gravatar
By in United States,

It seems a shame that at this scale they didn't incorporate some functional elements, like working steering, or the chain chopper and moving flame as seen in the 60's era Corgi model.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Atomic batteries to power! Turbines to speed!

Overall I quite like this, except for the thick windshield supports (which would've looked better in even a flat silver) and the ugly fenders.

It is also strange that all cars in this scale (or close to it) since the 2019 Mustang have had working steering despite not being Technic sets, yet this one for some reason doesn't have it. Maybe it couldn't fit in the front fenders while having them look consistent with the rear?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Day one purchase here.

As far as steering, maybe there’s a bat-tastic function we don’t know about?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It has "rotatable wheels"? Wow, thanks. Also, What's wrong with 'rotating', or just 'wheels'. Or in fact not mentioning them at all and letting us imagine what the wheels do...

I like the car, but the TV show is the one of the few Batman things I genuinely do not like. So I'm a bit torn.

The wheels rotate! What a time to be alive!

I'm hoping that will be next years big Batman set. Though how many years have passed between the small version of the '66 Batmobile and this new bigger version?

I heard somewhere you can take a wheel and rotate it forwards OR backwards!

Gravatar
By in Greece,

I'd like to get it to be honest, mostly to display it with my other Icons cars. Seems like the right scale.

OR? Not AND?
Well that's definitely a letdown and a deal breaker I guess.

Have it squaring off against 10262.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I still can't find out if this is in scale with other Creator Expert vehicles (10262 or 10265) Or if it's closer to the size of the other Batmobiles ('89 Batmobile or Tumbler)?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not really my thing anyway, but for $150 I'd want the two Batman logos to be printed instead of stickered...

The main body of the car seems 20 studs wide, which is quite a bit wider than both the DB5 and Mustang, but nowhere near those other two Batmobiles. I guess it's in line with the Ecto-1 or the BttF DeLorean?

That happened a few years ago, with 76188 Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile. The set retired in 2022, but is available on the aftermarket for around its original price.

robin, to the batmobile!

robin?

Gravatar
By in United States,

$150 for a giant car and no Robin.

Out of every Batman, this one is the one that *needs* Robin the most. Without him, this is just an incomplete set.

I'd argue that 76188 had more need of Robin to be complete.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Nifty subject but REALLY needed a minifig of Robin as well. But, for me, the wheel well arches are off...and badly. That makes it look like a truck unfortunately. I'm hoping that someone comes out with a kit to fix this. If so, then I'd seriously consider it.
