Oh, my. These are amazing. Finally Jenna Ortega is appearing in LEGO and even multiple times. Even the boxes are amazing. I’ll need these from 1st day.
late
These look pretty good. 76781 Looks like a good starting point for a Minifig-Scale Luigis Mansion MOC.
Think they're a bit late with the timing on these to cash in with the popularity that the show had. That said, I do like them. Not 100% sure about the 'big dolls', they're well done but seem slightly off to me.
Look at those Gargoyles! Perfect for city buildings
I hope that minifigure version will also come…
revealed on a Wednesday no less!
(at least, for my timezone)
The scariest thing about these is the price tag.
Hopefully the disembodied hand will return in a real Borgin & Burkes set.
Man such a lovely....rooftop?
Why they use bricks for those shelves instead of rest of the house?
Our second Jenna Ortega minifigure,
after https://brickset.com/minifigs/jw069
And it's nice that we're finally getting LEGO Addams Family in some form! Given how dark the Wednesday show is, and that it came out a few years ago, I'm surprised we're getting these at all!
That rooftop set looks a little like they chopped off the upper part of the Haunted House 10228.
Finally Bratz dolls in LEGO form.
I love the Wednesday mini-dolls, but I don't 100€ love them. More money saved.
*Casually waits for LEGO to take the images down (the same thing that happened to Wicked will happen here)*
I love the use of the flump screw as the twisted pillars, but what's the box frame underneath the gift-box at the top?
And Thing seems to be one of the hands of the brick-built doll figure. Looks like it can grip a normal bar sideways, and maybe clip onto a stud end-on..?
I just want the Gargoyles! they are so cool!!
Highlight here are those little Gargoyles. Those are new pieces right?
I like the little statues (not gargoyles since there doesn't appear to be a water spout), the black birds and the black recolouring for the new rose piece.
I hope no young Friends fans get traumatised by the show
Need that dorm. These are very well done!
Not quite what I expected. But I like the idea with the drawers!
I spy the Concorde cone part in black, a new gargoyle piece, and a lot of NPU!
It's Wednesday my dudes!
(And other people beside dudes)
The big Wednesday looks a bit weird, but I guess it's nice that it's fully customizable! The dorm also looks a bit big, but I guess it's probably quite decent if you know the exact source material (I never watched the show).
For some reason I’m wondering if I could modify the form to be the clock tower sometimes used in Batman media.
This roof is better than SW dioramas they sell...same price too
Even though the Dorm is comically expensive for what you get I like the creativeness, nicely designed sets.
I didn't notice the grotesques until they were pointed out in the comments, but now I *want* some. Here's hoping they do an expanded version of 30653 that incorporates a couple. Also, can someone who's seen the show shed some light on why 76781 comes with two of both character? I notice that Enid Sinclair doesn't just have two different hairstyles, she has two different hair colors. Does the character have an alter ego?
@Rabrickzel said:"ooooh I like that they are doing more big dolls!!!
I just wish they'd make some without all extra stuff just big doll itself as cheaper set.
They could totally do it with Friends release them like Bionicle characters."
Bonus points if the Olivia one doubles as a mech.
I like the Gargoyles. And the blondes ummm…’headphones’. That’s all.

I do enjoy those grotesques. I'm going to need about a hundred of them."
Oh yes, me,me,me, I, I, I.....just like your football team, couldn't let Germany have the 2-1 victory, just had to score the equalizer.....wait....what? Lego?
Sorry.....to the topic at hand, I like the sets, not really my thing, but my daughter wants both.
Gotta get that cello...
The gargoyles are a neat, but I also spy the 3-leaves element in Trans Glittery Black in 76780 which I believe is a new colour!
Another thing of note is the stone skull from Hocus Pocus being available (it wasn't on Pick-a-Brick) in the doll set.

Speaking of the topic at hand, I think it's hilarious Thing counts as a minifigure! And a well-done one at that.

Yay, more minidolls... Also reckon they might be a bit late to cash in on the popularity of Wednesday

Upper part of the Minecraft shulker box, design number 3131
https://brickset.com/parts/design-3131
Fantastic! Only small criticism is that Enid's regular blonde hair element doesn't have pink and blue printing or dual(triple?) moulding.

My guess is a grey cupcake base (6465111) and a 1x1 round plate
Haven't seen the show in full but these sets look great!
The customizability of the brick-built doll really highlights the potential of this format, and I hope to see this be expanded into other themes like Disney or the main Friends theme (and oh how I wish Elves were still around to take advantage of it as well). The dorm set looks great too—love the tiny gargoyles. And the fact that both sets have storage built in to keep their extra figures/components close at hand is a great feature that I wish more sets with rebuildable features had!

Why Minidolls??!?!
My disappointment is immeasurable.
Ugh, I love that this is a theme, thought the show was great, but why does it have to be minidolls instead of minifigs?
No minifigures, no purchase. Or why do you think HP sets sell so well?

Or early, as they are still filming the second season which Netflix will release next year while these are on shelves.

It also looks like the three leaf piece is in dark grey as well in that set!

I think 10-year-old Friends fans will be fine. It’s the 2-year-old Duplo fans seeing Jurassic Park/World who are getting traumatized.
The Wednesday figures make me want a Daria minidoll

Really appreciate Lego recognizing the need for storage and creating drawers for stray pieces. I’m always happy with thoughtful designs like these

That "bass" is much more cello-sized.
They're kinda cool sets, although I don't think I'll be picking them up unless they're discounted.
I like the idea of an old Addams Family and House set (either the original or the 90s movies influenced). And I would much rather have a BrickHeadz of Dracula, Wolfman, The Mummy and Creature/Gill-Man to go with my 40422 ... but they look like fun sets and I hope fans of the TV show or black, gothic looking sets are happy - the grotesques definitely look cool.
Doubt I'll get them, but I gotta say, these are pretty cool! The big doll figure looks great. Plenty of articulation where it counts, and love the new hand pieces, too.
And those gargoyles... I believe they're new. Hope we see more of them!

Hold on hold on, you simply haven't thought this through. *I* subjectively don't like minidolls, therefore no one likes them at all and no one could ever like or even tolerate them. Simple logic, really
The price for that buildable doll set seems high, but I guess a lot of parts are used for that elaborate base.
...is it kind of weird that I'm excited by these new big-minidolls because I can easily see a Hatsune Miku one making a billion dollars with how many MOCs there are out there of her?
Huh. Who’s have thunk we’d ever get licensed sets based on, of all things, The New Yorker magazine?
@GrizBe said:
"Think they're a bit late with the timing on these to cash in with the popularity that the show had."
There’s a licensed Wednesday breakfast cereal in stores right now.
@vizzitor:
Correct, a gargoyle with its mouth closed is a grotesque.
@WolfpackBricksOfficial:
They do it all the time when it’s tied to an upcoming film or TV series and the studio in charge imposes street dates on when information can be revealed. Older stuff, not so much, but their licensing partners get titchy when you spoil major plot points too early. That’s what trailers are for.
It’s so funny to me when certain Lego fans see a set they like, admit to liking it, but refuse to buy it because of three measly pieces. You guys realize you can throw the minidoll parts away, right? Or send them to me? :) Either way, Wednesday Adams wouldn’t be hard to adapt to minifigure form. There are plenty of black suit torso pieces, and her new hair mold will fit on a minifigure with no issue.
These sets look rad and I look forward to more licensed minidoll themes!
Macrodolls. I don't think this should be in the same category as minifigs
(if it's the case: set 76393 : 2 minifigs instead of 2 gigafigs)

I am not quite sure about that one - at least not here in Canada. I just went on the first page of Amazon Lego deals (published here on Brickset); on the first page of 50 items, 9 were Friends sets. The smallest rebate was 25% off. So this means one of two things: (1) Friends sets are not moving fast in Canada or (2) Friends sets were way overpriced and now come back to a more reasonable levels. I am pretty sure Friends sets sell reasonably well because Lego makes tons of them every years but we will never have the numbers to compare it to HP. I don't see why Lego cannot make both. There are Duplo Belle, Friends Belle and as of today: minifig Belle...

I wouldn't consider them minifigs either, same as I wouldn't consider Bionicle or Hero Factory sets minifigs. A buildable figure is kind of its own thing, especially one that's decidedly not meant to be in scale with other characters.
But I wouldn't be surprised if Bricklink classed them as such, not because it's necessarily what they are but more because it's the main way their system allows a figure component of a set to be sold as a separate unit.

An interesting note, that page for American Amazon has 8 sets, 4 of which were released Jan 1st of last year and 3 of which were Jan 1st of this year. Getting discounted near EOL doesn't have quite the same message as getting discounted right when they get released (as is the case with most other themes)

Had to google that as well. Wow! I read the ingredients, looks healthy...
The 'somewhat' good thing about all this is how Lego is moving a bit faster. In the past, Lego was so slow that by the time it entered an IP, it was long gone and everybody had forgotten about it. Nowadays, Lego is getting on board a bit quicker and hopefully that'll help their bottom line (not that it need much help but successes is always desirable) and the customers also get what they 'might' want.

There was a collectible minifigure a while back that was clearly meant to be Wednesday.
I’m not interested in this show, but I love that new gargoyle piece, I love the brick built characters, all around this looks like a great wave of sets!
Not my thing, but think they are ace.
That Wednesday minidoll is an amazing likeness!
I actually think Wednesday suits the minidoll format quite well!
I don't watch the show, so I won't be getting these.
Somehow I feel minidolls (and more particularly the shape of those heads) would be perfect for the only true Wednesday Addams: Christina Ricci!
Can't say I'm particularly interested nor impressed by either of these two sets, but the big fig looks the most interesting I'd say. And seems somewhat decently priced. That other set.....just 48 pieces more (and obviously 4 minidolls) for almost double the price? Seems rather poor value....
Hate to admit it, but these are really good. The dolls definitely don't need the expensive display bases though, I think they'd sell much better as standalone figurines. The ability to rebuild the Wednesday doll into having different outfits and hairstyles is brilliant though, and definitely will help sell the Lego concept to girls that maybe are a bit sceptical as to the unique advantages of the toy, similar to how Bionicle reached boys in the 2000s. But I think they'd sell better slightly cheaper and less encumbered.
I NEED those gargoyles for my Haunted House!!
I have no interest in the Wednesday theme but these builds are interesting. May have to look for deals on them but they won't be day one purchases for me. I really hope the gargoyle/grotesque piece as well as some of the others make it to PAB.

next season soon, Still is popular
I have little interest in the minidolls (I don't hate them they are just not my thing) but I am continuously pondering buying the set 70830 to go with my space people. Sweet Mayhem is the first ever minidoll to infiltrate the minifig world - and for that she is quite special (to me at least and would fit in my setup).
I also did not buy into the Brickheadz theme and my wallet is thanking me every day for that. But now we are seeing a new format emerging. The buildable figurines are quite nice. There are 3 now, 2 from Wicked and one from Wednesday. Wait until Lego give them the same treatment as Brickheadz, they are most likely a better building experience but also much more expensive.

Thank you for pointing that out; it was blending in with all the other black in the set. Does look like a recolor of the piece I linked to.

Yes, LUGBulk would be a great option for this piece.

I like the gargoyles.
The buildable figure looks good too, but very expensive. Having a second outfit and a large buildable backdrop has taken what could have been a £10-12 figure to a £50 display set.

I liked the show mostly (but not nearly as much as older Addams Family content). These sets are pretty good, but I agree, the intense marketing is almost off putting at this point. Wednesday cereal? Really?
Tout ce qui manque c'est mon ami LURCH .Bonne journée a tous.

Making sets for new licenses doesn't count as "throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks," compared to some of the stuff they were doing back then. I mean, action figures (sure, Bionicle is a big part of the reason the company was able to stay afloat, but those were still buildable, and Galidor flopped for a reason)? Barbie wannabes? Jack Stone, a.k.a. building sets that minimized building?
