Today, the LEGO Group reveals the launch of the LEGO Marvel X-Men: The X-Mansion Buildable Set. Get ready to answer Professor X's call as this set will telepathically transmit you straight into the LEGO brick heart of the X-Men universe.

With 3,093 pieces, this immersive, creative construction project gives adults a chance to unwind and lose themselves as they build a lasting model of an essential and recurring part of Marvel’s much loved X-Men stories: The Xavier Institute for Higher Learning.

The LEGO Marvel X-Men: The X-Mansion Buildable Set includes a buildable Sentinel and 10 familiar minifigures – five of which will be showcased for the first time ever in a LEGO set!

The new LEGO minifigures include Professor X, a new variation of Jean Grey, Gambit, Iceman and Bishop. With its realistic accessories, the set also features elements from the X-Mansion including Cerebro, switchable Danger Room items, an exploding cupola (dome-like structure), motorcycle for Wolverine, as well as graphical nods to the iconic X-Men franchise.

Part of the LEGO Sets for Adults range, the X-Mansion is the perfect escape for experienced builders and a phenomenal gift for the Marvel enthusiast in your life. Unleash your inner hero, gather your mutant team, and experience the X-Mansion like never before!

The upper level houses Professor X's laboratory, Wolverine’s bedroom and a medical lab. On the ground level is a lobby, classroom and a library.

On the left of the X-Mansion is the Danger Room training facility, which is accessed via a sliding door and can be customised by reconfiguring walls and accessories. Interactive features include a sliding interactive whiteboard and a rooftop that can be destroyed by activating a switch.

The LEGO Sets for Adults range offers model-builders a truly immersive and rewarding experience.

You can view more images on the set details page.

By in United States,

Why does Professor X have the Lex Luthor faceprint? Is he stupid?

Gravatar
By in United States,

So does the wheelchair pop out of the floating one or is it like iron man armor and attach as he goes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's really great, just wish some of these highly desirable themes (and figs) could be done at a much lower price point but still remain an 18+ model (Looking at you LOTR)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The leaked images REALLY didn't do this set justice, huh. Seems pretty great tbh, but they really butchered some of the minifigs (case in point, Professor X and maybe Iceman, would have preferred if he were more blue.).

Gravatar
By in United States,

Now I am glad I haven't picked up 10326 Natural History Museum yet! This is a little more my style.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It looks great. Hopefully they'll release a Sentinel set next year so we can get more than one, similar to how they released the Leviathan on its own after Avengers Tower.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Very surprised to see another new Storm and Cyclops considering they just did one for the CMF set. But either way, they did a fairly decent job I think on the selection. Odd that the minifig line-up is also missing Jean.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I want the build more than the figs lol

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I miss a lot of characters (why only 10?) but boy, i want this set!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looks like a great building but, without the slightest interest in x-men, thankfully a very easy pass.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Maybe I need to see more of the references within the model, but my reaction to the leaks was it is underwhelming, and the clearer pictures haven't helped. I assume there's a production reason the Bugle got 20+ figures and this gets 10?

Edit: 18 unique figures in Bugle?!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thankful the GWP is so lackluster (no exclusive parts or characters), no reason not to wait for a big discount. Very bizarre the GWP would include a second Cerebro and second Xavier when both are already in the set.

Some great minifigures, just wish there were more! That sticker on the back with Nightcrawler and Dazzler just feels like salt in the wound.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Based on these pictures, the only thing I'm faulting is Professor X's face. Otherwise this is absolutely fantastic, much better than the Avengers Tower I think, especially for minifigures. More X-Men would always be welcome (Angel? Colossus? Nightcrawler?) but the selection is already good enough for me to love it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I kinda want to buy it just for the modular building, and sell the figures.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'll buy and build the set, but without all the x men stuff. It looks a lot like 10326 .

Not bothered about gwp.

I'll buy them lol

Gravatar
By in United States,

Would love to see what it looks like next to modular buildings

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It's really nice... and will fit great within a Modular street. But the majority of the build is only 10 studs deep, with an 8 stud deep interior, and I worry that this might not look as big and impressive in reality as it does in those pictures. I still really like it though and will definitely be buying it at some point.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

They seem to have missed one of the minifigures out of the picture with them all in a line, which is strange

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Kinda wish we had got some new X-Men instead of repeats of Rogue, Storm, Cyclops, Magneto and Wolverine

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Oddly I think I prefer the GWP :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Really interesting how much this set has developed from the original survey.

Gravatar
By in France,

Given that price point, I'm very disappointed by all the stickers everywhere... They could have at least made an effort for the exterior ones, the "est 1963" and "mutatis mutandis" motto.

Is that too much to ask ?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Needs to be deeper and a floor taller, but *sigh* yes I'll buy it.

Jean Grey is the 1:1 scale minifigure on top of the box, hence her absence from the line-up image.

Half the Bugle figures were citizens, presumably Disney doesn't really value those characters' IPs and lets merchandise makers grab those by the dozen. Also most had already been produced by Lego in the past, meaning less negotiations about how a character is to be depicted (excluding citizens, there were 5 characters new to Lego, a similar count to this set).

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I like it and I want to get it day one, but I know that's unlikely. Still, I prefer this over most of the Marvel D2Cs recently and I like how it is somewhat modular compatible. Not sure how it would fit in my city for the moment, and the thing that's holding me back is that I recently got the Natural History Museum, which is $50 cheaper for a very similar build.

The figures are definitely the highlight, but LEGO seemed to restrain themselves here. Of course, Wolverine, Storm, Magneto and Cyclops are needed, but they've appeared in more than a few sets recently. Hopefully Mystique, Angel, Colossus, Nightcrawler aren't far away.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

3000 pieces, I really thought this would be $250 or $280 at max, damn.

Looks to be a fun set, though.

Ah okay, thanks. :)

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

More like X-Men apartments. Feels very cramped. And no dual moulded legs is just a crime.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I do really want an Iceman figure to go with The Daily Bugle, for a 'Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends' line-up ....

Actually feel this might be one set where it would be better if there were no back walls, given that a lot of those rooms could really do with expansion, especially since the biggest danger currently in the Danger Room is claustrophobia.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why is Jean's face blue on the very top image (with a white background)? Is that a Phoenix thing I'm not familiar with? I thought it was Mystique at first.

LEGO are often admonished for not living up to their motto of "Only the Best is Good Enough", but when they see consumers criticising the products they put out but STILL buying them, who can blame them?

Easy money.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Are Gambit's playing cards stickers? Man that's going to be disappointing...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It seems to run into the same problems as modular buildings more generally - impressive exterior, but somewhat cramped interior. I appreciate how the different wings can be separated, though; that’s a great feature for storage.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

So I want to collect everything modular, so basically anytthing with connection holes, so I bought the Bugle, Dr Strange’s house and Avengers Tower but this one is really disappointing and plaine looking. I guess it is time to no longer consider these Marvel buildings as regular modulars and sell the previous 3 (need to slim down my collection anyway).

I am glad the set is not $500 but it does seem a little small.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks amazing, and I really love the Magneto figure. Price looks good too. Don't think I will be picking it up since I still haven't made my mind between Rivendell or Avengers Tower. Besides I'm not the biggest X-Men fan (not watched the movies or the shows)

Perhaps instead of including a Dark Phoenix figure, LEGO went for a Beast Phoenix one. ;)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Can't say I'm the biggest X-men expert, but dare I say this looks a bit simplistic and cramped, at least from the outside? As much as I'm not a fan of the ever increasing number of huge sets, I kinda feel this should have been a €500 set (and obviously sized as such). On the other hand, did that Sentinel have to be included here, or would that better have been a separate set, leaving more budget for the main thing?

And then the stickers....I do get it can't all be print, you can't expect Cobi quality from Lego. But I think at least the decorations on the front (especially the sign and that big round X-tile) could have been prints? And even Gambit's playing cards apear to be stickers? I'd think those could have easily been reused in other sets, and thus prints.

But everyone seems to like it, so it's probably just me. And since I wouldn't buy this anyway.....

Gravatar
By in United States,

It may not be enormous but its still 3000+ pieces. Price is on the high end, but not insulting like some other sets. If anyone thinks the set is too small - buy two and sell the surplus or ... source parts to expand footprint or extra levels. It's modular - so a no-brainer purchase ,but not right away.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The mansion looks really basic. The façade on the sanctum sanctorum looks much better with more detail. Those little separate rooms will be hard to see any detail inside. They should have done swing out walls like the home alone house so you could see the entire inside at once. The sentential also looks super janky. It doesn't look like an 18+ set or worth what they're asking.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

330€ and still they cannot colormatch stickers,...yikes
and: 330€ !?!?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love the way they did Storm's cloak! Nice minifigs and I love the details in the rooms (albeit small-sized). I'm surprised this is a complete building--I actually thought the back side was going to be open, doll-house style. This mansion has big modular vibes.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I've been meaning to do the X-Mansion as a MOC at a similar scale. I feel like I could do it a little better, but taking into account the figs, stickers and convenience of not having to order all the parts, this may be just good enough to bite the price bullet. I'm glad it's fully enclosed!

Why does the GWP look like it's been designed on LDD tho?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Too many stickers for this price point, IMHO, and the Sentinel doesn't look that great to me, but otherwise I think the building looks quite accurate to the source material and the minifigs overall are great -- even if Jean Grey, Jubilee, and Beast are missing.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have an Electro that looks more like Iceman than this Iceman does.

I'm both disappointed and relieved that this looks so lame.

Gravatar
By in United States,

After years of wishing for an X-Mansion, this set really delivers! Love the minifigures, the only character I'm missing is Mystique. The reused face on Professor X is awful but from my first impressions that seems to be the set's biggest flaw, which is saying a lot about how great the rest of it looks! I love all the features that have been crammed into the build without compromising its appearance and the GWP is a wonderful surprise. Day one purchase for sure.

Jean's there.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Agreed - Iceman is disappointing. I feel like there are a number of opaque light blues that would have been better than white, if they didn't want to go transparent. But I probably would have voted for trans-clear or trans-light-blue.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've said it a million times on Instagram, I'll say it again here: this looks kind of small.

Also is Professor X our first Patrick Stewart minifigure?

Either way, not getting this because I have no interest in X-Men. But I hope for everyone's sake that we get a set next year with... (checks comments) whoever Mystique, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, Dazzle, Angel and Colossus are

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

So do modular collectors consider this part of the modular line?

Gravatar
By in United States,

It looks too much like the Museum Modular to me. I think I'd rather have that set and make it into an X-mansion.

Something just seems off about it all. I loved X-men growing up and was excited about it all for the Deadpool movie. But something is just not getting me for some reason.

I'll try to pick up Gambit sometime and call it good I guess.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is not showing up on the Lego website, at least in the U.S., at the time of posting this. If I search for “76294”, I get an “Oops…” message back. Kind of weird, given that the set has been revealed.

Maybe a few pics as part of the review for comparison?

You seem to be putting a lot of effort into voicing your opinion of this set, given your claim to have 'no interest' in the franchise. ;-) Since both the X-Men animated series and the Wolfpack sets came out in 1992, you must have some familiarity with the brand.

But yeah, Jubilee and Beast should've come with this set. I didn't expect Nightcrawler to be included, even though he's my favorite character from the Jim Lee run of the comics.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I just googled 'x-mansion' and there are so many different versions that it is hard to tell which one is the correct one. As for this one, the architecture seems fine and there seems to be a lot of play references but I certainly do not think that light blueish grey, dark blue and that brown (dark nougat?) and white go well together - in fact, I think they are clashing pretty badly and makes you want to look elsewhere. (maybe if all the grey bits were white, it would be more cohesive). Considering, the usual Marvel tax, this seems to be priced comparatively reasonably. Very happy for those who are into this but I think this is not for me. And unfortunately for me, not parts in colours I'm looking for.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@merman said:

I'd imagine that most will consider "modular-compatible" similar to other sets like the other Marvel D2C buildings, 80107, the BLDP buildings, etc. that have modular connection points but don't really fit the aesthetic standards of the official modular building line.

Clarification: I was born in 2006, and the Wolfpack in my username is referencing the 104th Clone Battalion from Star Wars, not the classic Castle faction

(Which, I still don't understand why the torsos aren't on Pick-A-Brick yet, when every other piece from 10332 is! It's outrageous. It's unfair.)

By in Netherlands,

On the comic cover number 141 on the wall only Cable is a new character and Pixie wrote on the wall. Are they just easter eggs or maybe early designed figs that didn’t make the cut.

M.i.a: night crawler, colossus, kitty pride with lockheed, banshee, cable, jubilee, forge, morph, psylocke, (arch)angel, mystique, dazzler, longshot and the list goes on and on and on

I hope we’ll get a sentinel set (same sentinel) just like 72690 but then with some missing x-men. I’d prefer Night Crawler, Colossus to throw the obligatory Wolverine and Bastion
And a mojo set with Dazzler and Longshot

Beast was in the recent CMF. Jubilee would have been a fun inclusion (Uncanny X-Men 251 was a HUGE part of my comics backstory). Angel/Archangel was a must. I’m hoping that we get a follow-up with Warren and a better version of Bobby.

I would recommend Rivendell over everything. It’s the most beautiful set I’ve ever owned or seen. The build was fantastic & even lining up all those 1x1’s wasn’t so bad. I still can’t stop looking at it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Shame Angel isn't included. I say that not because I'm a huge fan of the character or anything, but because I'd like to see another use of the wing piece created for 71047-6. I also think it's funny that Cyclops' eye beam is represented by a spring-loaded shooter missile. I guess he's getting revenge for 76022.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is fantastic! I've been catching up with the classic X-men cartoon episodes that I watched as a kid and have moved onto the more recent continuation of the series X-men '97. I'm a total sucker for this nostalgia. Love the broad range of characters too.
The new beefy looking Sentinel is awesome! A HUGE upgrade from the skinny, unbalanced version found in 76022.
I know they can't include every minifigure people want, but this is a great start. My only few gripes would be the odd choices for some of the faces for Professor X and smiling Magneto. And I agree with others on how Iceman turned out. Definitely not my first choice of him being white with blue highlights.
Overall though, I'm very excited for this!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This is the set I’ve been waiting for.
It’s rather good…

Lovely minifigures but sorry Bishop, I would have sent you back to the future for Angel/Jubilee/Psylocke/Sabretooth/Juggernaut…

Stickaz! Oh well, I’d best be grateful for enclosed build! love it.
But… please tell me gambit’s cards aren’t stickaz too?! Groan!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have to echo the sentiments of several others here. Zero interest in X-men, the figures do absolutely nothing for me. I like the Building. If I find a fantastic deal at some point I may buy it for the building & sell off the minifigs. I bought the cmf's but wasn't really happy with most of them. Someone posted somewhere a picture of this with a Delorean parked in front of the building to use it for Back to the Future.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Weird lack of dual-molded legs for Wolverine and Rogue, where they try to accomplish the look of the outer upper legs with just front prints and it looks awkward. Magneto and Cyclops should also get dual-molded lets, but because their legs are technically slightly more "off" in not even having prints implying boots, they end up look better.

Oh my gosh. The Aslume truly knows no bounds. It'll spread until the entire internet is stupid.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I might have considered this set if there had been an exclusive (and recognizable) Patrick Stewart head included. That would have been a first step towards a proper LEGO Star Trek figure.
But reusing some other head that looks nothing like him immediately devalues the set for me.
Plus, all those stickers are laughable. I know it's LEGO policy to charge as much and deliver as little as possible, but when almost every respectable alternative manufacturer delivers all prints instead of stickers, this becomes borderline ridiculous.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A nice looking structure and the Sentinel Bot is cool too!
Annoyed that Lego didn't make a New head for Charles,
Bishop, Gambit and Jean all Great
But instead of the same Wolverine from the Jet we could of gotten Nightcrawler and that Storm is a diluted and poorer variation of the Cmf one so instead it'd of been great to get a Mystique, Goblin Queen or Emma Frost.

I'd like to see Either Cable or Jubilee as a Polybag one day or be included in a Lego Marvel Encyclopedia.

The old school Magneto looks fab but again Lego could of introduced us to Mister Sinister or Executioner considering the Bugle had about 5 villains in it and Avengers Tower had 3..

Gravatar

I can't really say I love the "Bar 1L with 1 x 1 Round Plate with Hollow Stud" used for attaching Cyclops' laser here. Kind of looks like he's blocking a laser blast with a ping pong paddle or something.

They’re probably banking on his appearance in X-Men 97. Though if that’s the case there are definitely characters missing from that series here.

Update: I checked on the website again, and apparently the Wolfpack torsos ARE on Pick-A-Brick, but they're unfortunately out of stock. Which is really strange, because aren't PAB parts made-to-order straight from the factory?"

They're not "made to order" per say, the factory does a batch [however many that happens to be] in concurrency with set runs and then they'll be in stock on PaB, until that batch sells out. Parts that are in sets still in production tend to get continued restocks [for awhile at least] during that set's shelf life.

They've been in and out of stock two [three?] times now that I've seen at least. Right now however, you've got some knuckleheads who are buying them out at max quantity as soon as they're in stock [mostly to flip on BrickLink for a +$1 profit, some folks are listing 200-400 currently].

Fortunately, 10332 should be in production for quite awhile yet, so they should be restocked a few more times. Also most of the other popular castle factions have ended up getting moved to "Best Sellers" eventually, which seems to make them more readily available.

EDIT TO ADD: With the most recent Brick Link Designer program submissions featuring a lot of WolfPack torsos in submissions, I would suspect they should be restocked for quite awhile yet.

By in United States,

I really don't want to come off as complaining but I really wish they didn't include Wolverine, Cyclopes, and Rogue int his set since we already got them in the X-Jet and instead replace them with different characters we've never gotten before.
I suppose I could excuse Cyclopes since they improved upon his figure heavily! But they're using the same Rogue and Wolverine from the X-Jet set. I get it, we need Wolverine because it's Wolverine. But I would I loved to replace Rogue and Wolverine with Nightcrawler and Jubilee so that we can finally complete the classic X-men team. WE'RE SO CLOSE now that we got an [accessible] Jean Grey!
God sometimes its painful being more of an X-Men fan than an Avengers fan lol It's taken us yeeeeaaaars to come this close to finishing the classic team.
Would have loved at least a Mystique so Magneto as back up

Anyway, the rest of the figures look AMAZING, this is a must have for me.

By in United States,

Wow. The fig selection is a joke compared to other big Marvel sets. Where is the rest of the cartoon lineup? Terrible yellow on blue prints instead of molded.

Floors are pretty short, shallow build, on the baseplate. Lots of stickers on tiny pieces. Only thing great here is the Sentinel.

X-Men is the only Marvel IP I love. I don't see the value here and am very whelmed.

Damn scalpers, ruining the hobby! We didn't like it with Captain Rex's Y-Wing, and we certainly don't like it now!

The basketball backboard is comically small. Deal-breaker for me.

Seriously, this is good. Price isn't too high, but not a great deal either. The figs are ok. They're a little skimpy on details and characters.

The build looks to be what you'd expect for a licensed IP for $250 + $50 mech. Wait! That mech is horrible! Definitely not worth $50.

Someone call the Ninjago guys. You need mech help.

The GWP may swing it. This is how you get us Lego. It's not hard. Just make a decently interesting GWP out of Lego that has some relevance to the set.

Calm down. Take a deep breath. You just got here. It'll all be ok.

Most people selling parts on BL aren't making a huge profit. They do help make distribution last longer. Personally, I couldn't imagine doing it, but I appreciate the resource.

Moreover, as the prior poster discusseed, the popularity of the piece will likely kick it over to the 'Bestseller' and you'll be able to get it faster.

If you are excited about a new part, keep tabs on its release on NewElementary.

The part you should be worried about is the Nazgul torso that instantly sold out. As part of an IP GWP, it's not likely to be restocked. Luckily, I placed on order for THE NINE!!

Me too. I just got so worked up about my GWP Fell fail that I felt I should get the new version as well.

Except I mistook the new black hood piece for the older one. The new one isn't available on PaB. I guess that's why there's Bricklink.

This definitely needed some more figures: a couple more mutants to fight like sabertooth and mystique, maybe some generic gifted students, and different outfit versions for the repeat characters, like Logan in a jacket or Scott in his civilian clothes.

Easy money."

"Only the best is good enough" being a slogan is a misconception.

And that's just mean from Lego.

By in Netherlands,

SO hyped for this! However, it is a little simplified and condensed in size. It will look too small in relation to the newer Sanctum Sanatorium set, but probably looks good next to the older (smaller) one. I actually like it smaller, because it then looks better proportioned next to Avengers tower and Daily Bugle too. Can;t wait to mod my own basket ball court and surrounding grounds

NEVERMIND, THERE IS NOTHING SUSPICIOUS ABOUT THIS, AND CHARLES XAVIER'S EYEBROWS LOOK GREAT. CHARLES XAVIER! WHAT A GUY!

Most of the new minifigures look good, Iceman does look a bit disappointing. I was hoping we'd get a transparent minifig for him, this is a bit underwhelming. But at least you can finally put him next to Spider-Man and Firestar to scratch that Spider-Friends itch, I guess?

I was desperately hoping for Juggernaut and/or Mister Sinister. I can only hope that we'll get some other supplemental sets - maybe separate Danger Rooms - with some added iconic enemies. Maybe a Hellfire Club? Surely TLG wouldn't mind giving us the Stripclub of Evil.

I guess it's possible that this set already includes Mystique and/or Morph. It's not like you can tell.

Beast was in the recent CMF. Jubilee would have been a fun inclusion (Uncanny X-Men 251 was a HUGE part of my comics backstory). Angel/Archangel was a must. I’m hoping that we get a follow-up with Warren and a better version of Bobby."

I would have liked a lab for Beast though. Thanks for reminding me that getting this will be even more expensive due to the need for past CMFs (although I prefer this version of Storm) and getting the rest of my collection from my ex.

I don't think it looks great in a modular street at all. Doesn't even look good next to sanctum sanctorum.

Maybe a uniform from some parallel universe where Starfleet likes its officers to show their abs off?
