Disney Advent Calendar - Day 9

Posted by ,

So far we've met two princesses, along with two scenes for each story. However, save for the presents that come with each character, we haven't seen much in the way of holiday cheer. I wonder if that will change as we head into Day 9 of the calendar.

"Let it go, let it go...."

We meet our third Disney princess, and it's none other than Elsa, one of the princesses from Frozen. The printing on her dress has an appropriate snowflake and icy design. She also comes with a present, which of course is colour coordinated with her dress. Though if her world is cold, why does her dress have short sleeves?

Now, I'll be off singing for the rest of the day.....

Elsa is cold-resistant, the amount of dress doesn't matter.

Her fingers are already frozen to each other :(

Presumably she doesn't feel the cold. She dances about in the snow in a lacy dress. Whereas Anna often wears a cape, suggesting she feels the cold a bit more.

Clue is in the song: “the cold never bothered me anyway”

Dax 9? No, that's Elsa, not Ezri.

I thought about a milk carton too.

Surprised it took this long to get Elsa, though I goes they wanted to promote Moana 2.

Later in life Elsa becomes a purveyor of frozen treats. She and/or the people of her realm cannot get ENOUGH of the cold; they must ingest it.

The stiff-walking and shivering after her induction into the Polar Bear Club in the first film suggest that a little more obviously. They didn’t really touch on that at all in the sequel.

As someone who regularly watches the Ashens/NerdCubed Advent Horror series, I can't take those hands seriously...

"...Elsa, one of the princesses from Frozen."

I daresay this 'princess' is in fact a queen, and has been such since she was quite young.

Her coronation took place in the first film, after her younger sister reached marrying age. Up until that point, she would have still been a princess. Crown princess, sure, but not yet queen. The real question is, who the heck ran the country in the interim? I didn’t see any regent, steward, or other equivalent handing power back when she was crowned.

II was explaining what the backdrop and display mat on the Star Wars calendar was to my mother earlier when it occurred to me that this figure wouldn't look too out of place against said backdrop...
