Disney Advent Calendar - Day 13

Posted by ,

We've made it halfway through the calendar, and have had a stretch of Frozen-themed builds. Yesterday's baby Sven maxed out the awwwww factor. I wonder if we'll continue with the Frozen theme today.

Clearly yes, we will! Today's build is a sled, of which there are a several in the Frozen world (necessiatated by the the world being, well, frozen)! I found this build a little tricky from the instructions, but I do like the use of the hockey sticks for the sled runners, even if it isn't all that practical.

Elsa wastes no time in hopping on the sled to get where she needs to go!

Never. If, and this is quite a stretch, if Disney ever goes bankrupt and their IPs will be auctioned off, the buyer of Frozen will keep selling out until the cycle repeats.

No actual way of getting Sven to pull it though by the looks of it

Ahh, the meaning of the goalpost castles becomes clearer. It is some sort of biathlon…you sledge your way to the goal, then break off the ski runners, and slap shot a present!

The question is, is this the Pinto Wagon version of sleighs, like the one Kristoff had when he met Anna.

With how often sleighs/sleds show up in various sets I think it is long overdue for LEGO to design a dedicated sled/sleigh runner element rather than using hockey sticks, ninja swords or other pieces that just don't look right as sleigh runners.

I’m using part 87747 with two of part 93160 to form each runner, but that works thematically for Santasaur and his nine tiny reinraptors.

Boy, this calendar is really going downhill, isn't it? Pun intended.
