Friends Advent Calendar - Day 9

Posted by ,

Yesterday's mailbox was nice to see as that's a standard build for many advent calendars. We seem to alternate indoor and outdoor activities with the builds so far, so I expect to see something indoor behind today's door.

Today we have a kitten version of Olly's cat, Gertrude! Even though this is a smaller version, her personality still comes through thanks to the markings on her face. She comes in her cat tree, which has a few levels and should keep her occupied. If it doesn't, she also has an enormous fish (that's larger than she is) that will keep her from feeling hungry for a few weeks.

Does that cat practice on a speed bag?! Definitely a Dreadflipper minion.

And, the fish is a red herring... or kippered snack.

This looks really substantial for one window!

That tree is great. I feel sorry for any potential siblings who have a Friends and City calendar. One gets a cat, fish and cat tree, the other only had a cat, fish and bowl. Doesn't seem fair.

This is a good build. I am allergic to cats. I thought this was called a scratching post, not a cat tree. I have learned a new term. I’m not familiar with all things feline.

Punching bag was my first thought, too.

Today's Star Wars build was pretty involved, too.

I've never had a cat in my life, but I do know that a cat tree and a scratching post are not the same thing. One is for climbing, the other is so (hopefully, although from my understanding it's often a vain hope) the cat has something other than your furniture to sharpen its claws on. I'd imagine that cat trees also provide claw-sharpening surfaces, but having never owned a cat, I have no firsthand experience, I wouldn't know.

If Friends did Ewok Villages…

Wow. See what happens when you feed City cats fish that are twice their size? Look how much weight this grey cat has put on in such a short time!

I love this! I'm going to make one for the kitten from the City calendar.

Is that fish the new reddish orange?

If I had a nickel for every time we got a cat with a fish bigger than the cat this year, I would have two nickels...
