City Advent Calendar - Day 9

Posted by ,

Yesterday's scooter certainly provides the minifigs a way to get around, even if it wasn't much of a build, nor was it very festive. The search for holiday themed builds continues as we open today's door.

We meet the third minifig of the calendar. This minifig is equipped with snowshoes, continuing the trend of minifigs coming with a means of snowy transport. Clearly this minifig doesn't go very quickly, because he also has a hot beverage in hand to enjoy while he's out in the elements.

His festive sweater features hammers and what looks like boots on the front, and the back of his sweater, like the others, features a Christmas tree.

The sweater features axes and a fire icon, it is firefighter themed

I saw fire axes and flames on the front of the jumper assuming all the festive jumpers are related to City services. But now I only see boots!

I don’t see a boot. Like the Ed Sheeran song from “The Hobbit”, I See Fire.

Blimey, it's like the Rorschach test!
I also saw hammers, and thus assumed he was a communist. Thanks to the others for pointing out the axe/fire combo, that makes much more sense.
I'm really not sure how @MeganL saw boots though?

Boots??

Far too much cream on top of that drink. I presume it's hot chocolate.

I pulled all the minifigs from a City AC for a show this weekend, so I had three more sweaters to provide potential clues to this one, so I’m a little confused at how people are not seeing fire and axes. Having read it now, though, I can see the boot shape. The two lowest points would be the toes. The widest points would be the heels. And you’re only seeing the whole boot on the left, as the right one is partially hidden behind it. These would be at least knee-high women’s boots, though, which seems an odd subject matter for a man’s sweater. That stuff is more appropriate for lamps, ideally placed in the front window of your home.

I definitely see a space invader on his sweater. With axes pummeling it.

Waaaaaaaitt.. I know what's going on here. Having recruited Frostflipper (Ice) and Miles (electricity), this Master of Fire now wears Dreadflipper's blood-soaked jumper.
He's recruiting the elements!
Or maybe @Ridgeheart is right and each 'recruit' is a previous version of Dreadflipper, and it is all part of the Dreadverse of Multiflippers!

"I don't see boots. Mind you, I don't see fire either. I see what appears to be a turban and axes, suggesting that this man is somehow liasoned with the Thuggee cult.

It's a Thugly sweater."

I’m sure Indiana Jones will be along to deal with him personally

I'm enjoying the commentary as much as the reveals! Wish I had gotten this AC when I had the chance....

Special kudos to @alLEGOry_HJB2810 for enthusiastically jumping into the one-who-must-not-be-named-conversation!

PS--when I saw 71417 Fliprus Snow Adventure on deep discount at Amazon, I had to get it in honor of...well, something. It definitely gives me that special Christmas feeling (terror??) after all the discussions here!
