City Advent Calendar - Day 10
Posted by MeganL,
Yesterday we met our third minifig on the calendar - I wonder if the build behind today's door will give that minifig something to do other than snowshoe around with a beverage.
Today is a another remote controlled toy, and taking a look at this year's City sets, I think it may be the fire truck from 60414 Fire Station with Fire Truck. It's a very nice scale model, and I really like the use of roller skates for the wheels. This makes yesterday's minifig's sweater motif of a flame (so that's what that was!) make much more sense!

... I mean, I suppose you could use the ladder mechanism on the back of the truck as a catapult.

No, this is to put out all the fires, caused by reckless use of catapults and engaging in catapult warfare

Fits TLG's recent approaches to creative firefighting.
No fire station?
Miniscule builds this year.
Shrinkflation...
2020 342 pieces
2021 349 pieces
2022 287 pieces
2023 258 pieces
2024 195 pieces!
Walkie-talkie battlepack.

There it is, it's just pretending to be a remote control.

You know catapult warfare has escalated out of hand when things are on fire and all anyone was launching was snowballs.

"Again, it looks like a leg to me. I suppose you could combine it with the sailboat, and... wait, are we building a Voltron?"
But what will form the head?

Looks like it would extend slightly over the cab at the front when laid flat, so with careful aim you could flick it with a finger to launch it back upwards. Not quite as effective as the other two offerings from today but it’s a start

Hey, no horseplay near the alkali metal stockpiles!

Clemmons! I need a remote controlled toy fire truck, a spring, the entire contents of that Pepsi vending machine, and some hot cocoa!
This is my first ever highlighter yellow brick!
A red train with a weirdly oversized power line extension.
@Ridgeheart : Can't be, no lions involved...yes, yes, yes, I KNOW these more than one Voltron, but...:D

It's a ploy by LEGO to get you to buy the HP calendar to use day 2's lion statue for the combiner model.

Well, you already have the little cat from this calendar, plus the Friends calendar gets you one more cat (they’re small, so probably the arms). Just need one chonky cat to form the torso.
