City Advent Calendar - Day 20

Posted by ,

After a very slow start - with the exception of some great minifigs - the last two days have provided appropriately festive builds. Only five days left - will the calendar finish on a stronger note?

It's a Christmas tree! With ornaments! And a star! While we expect to see Christmas trees in an advent calendar, this is a particularly nice rendition. Unlike the Disney version, this one has ornaments, which is a nice finishing touch (due to the tree construction, no opportunity for artistic expression this time...).

This is the type of build that I expect from an advent calendar.

Blacktree? Treetron? Treetron. All trees are Blacktron, eventually."

White, green and black - it's more likely a Space Police II tree perhaps

Only light grey, blue and yellow are allowed. Classic trees forever!

Good tree. Not great. Not groundbreaking. Not mindblowing. But good. Good tree.

So, does the fin configuration cause this rocket to spiral in flight like a football?

Nice. Nice. Not thrilling, but nice.

Of course, proper rifling gets you through the atmosphere better. That’s just science!

By in United States,

The green 1x2 bricks are odd and I'd rather they went with the more common 1x2.5 angle plates.

Or alternatively...this tree looks *sort of* like a traffic light and now I wish it were yellow and had three lights on each side.

City? Traffic light? Eh?

This already looks like a Dalek to me. It definitely would in those colors.

Since the "Christmas Dalek" comments have already been made, I'm going to pick up on something else.

I think you mean "tree-fic light."

I’ve actually got my Christmas Daleks on display at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra right now. One red, one green, both trimmed with white, and squaring off against the War Doctor.

Number of pieces all entries should have in an advent calendar.

I feel like I've seen this tree design 5 other times...
