Spider-Man Advent Calendar - Day 12
Posted by CapnRex101,
While I welcome the clearer Spider-Man theming during the past couple of days, I think the actual models have been a little disappointing, relative to the other Advent Calendars.
See whether things improve after the break...
This candy cane certainly succeeds in mixing Spider-Man with the festive season, featuring his classic blue and red colours. However, the design is very basic and only highlights the disparity between what we have seen in the Spider-Man Advent Calendar so far as opposed to the others, which tend to include more interesting models, with occasional exceptions.
Overall - Today's candy cane looks alright, but feels lacking in creativity.

"Bring me candy canes of Spider-Man!"
I quite like some of the little city builds we've had so far, but this one is pointless and, frankly, bloody dreadful.
I guess it's a creative attempt?
Where would you used this on the calender, considering the rest seems to just be New York City itself.

Steve Rogers voice: I understood that reference!
I like that the life preserver piece is in white, suggesting that it's made of webbing.

I was going to say that it's not a clone, it's just another Spider-Person from somewhere in the Spider-Verse, but wasn't one of the clones called Kaine? If I'm remembering that right, you may be on to something.
Someone threw that Advent Calendar mini-model a life preserver, but it was already too late.
You say candy cane but my first thought was it was the North Pole and I wondered what it was doing in New York
My word, the Marvel advent calendars are boring.

The first one was good, but I think they used up most of their ideas on that one.
Broken basketball hoop
Is the wreath made of web? If so, why?

I think that's a big problem with these; Marvel doesn't have near as much recognizable iconography as a theme like, for instance, Star Wars does, and so they used up the best microbuild ideas on that first one.
It looks like it needs a 1x1 red tile on top to finish it off.

The church my family used to go to had a pole with two hoops on it: One at the standard height facing the parking lot and another one on the other side mounted two or three feet lower. The lower one ended up vertical rather than horizontal as a result of people jumping up and hanging on it.

That's what happens after a good game of tipsy holiday monster ball.

Agreed. I don't get them anymore. I have enough versions of figs. The builds are lame, useless for other purposes, and the holiday figs are insipid. The sweater gimmick has jumped the shark.

I don’t believe they’ve released any minifigs wearing shark sweaters. If they had, I should have owned one by now. Of course, you _can_ make your own with the Minifig Factory. The in-store version does have a shark sticker.
