Spider-Man Advent Calendar - Day 22
Posted by CapnRex101,
Green Goblin is now equipped with a glider and a sled to haul. However, with only one pumpkin bomb to deliver, I think we might receive some presents for the sled today.
Read on to find out...
We do indeed find a gift wrapped in Spider-Man's colours with a Mysterio-themed snow globe. The latter is a clever idea and I like how Mysterio himself is represented by stacked 1x1 round plates inside, although the villain's costume is quite abstract at this scale. Fortunately, the trans-clear sphere helps for context, usually worn as Mysterio's helmet.
These items fit neatly on Green Goblin's sled, probably completing this section of the Advent Calendar. I rather like the vehicle, but I have said it before and will say it again, Green Goblin should be dressed as an elf!
Overall - Today's presents are fairly insubstantial, but their Spider-Man theming is effective and appreciated.

Mysterio is trapped in the crystal ball.
With having every marvel calender that's been released I should be used to the disappointment by now but this years quality seems to be the worst of the lot. Lack of festive mini figures itls really poor
Only the Mysterio one is actually a gift. The Spider-Man one is actually a bomb. GG's trying to trick Spidey into thinking he's been given a gift by an admirer, but when it's opened, BOOM! Of course, ol' Norman didn't take Pete's Spider-Sense into account.
I don't quite see wat the inside of the mysterio snowglobe is supposed to be. If it hadn't been for the globe helmet piece I wouldn't have known what it's about.

It’s Mysterio himself.
With the completed build taking up a total of 4 days it's even odder than Green Goblin wasn't given a festive design.
I had no idea that was a Mysterio reference. Thanks, Brickset Advent Countdown!

Let’s face it, this is Green Goblin: they’re both bombs. That probably release smaller bombs upon detonation

Can’t disagree , this years calendar is so random wife and I have had trouble deciphering what things are meant to be and this is the worse so far ??????
There have been a few cool things like the fireplace, and my wife thinks the city build things are cool like the street lamp and traffic signs but this calendar sucks. I’d heard marvel usually did but they tricked me with photos of Spider-Man!
Only one unique piece being Spider-Man’s X-mas sweater, I had not even thought of the elf for Green Goblin but now it just makes the cake for how disappointing can a $50 advent calendar be.
Really wish I had gotten the usual Star Wars one, they got a Mini-Kit and we got a Spider-Man colored candy cane. At least I’m not the only one feeling it this year!
I really hope the rumored Minecraft calendar just replaces the Marvel one outright. What a complete waste of a product slot.

Maybe he's trying to be like Mr. Freeze from The New Batman Adventures:

That second present looks flat to me
Mysterio in a snowball is perhaps a reference to a side quest in Spider-Man 2 game.
