The wolf looks awesome! I will definitely be getting a few of those

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I was wondering who invented steampunk, now I finally know.
Seems like a strong line up.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Damnit! I like these.

Edit: Ordered.

Edit: 'edit' now spelled correctly. ;)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I like these. Apart from the costumes one, which have never been my favourite.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I need a Cockatoo

Gravatar
By in Belarus,

I wonder why Lego keeps using the old triangular shield mold instead of the newer one from around 2015-ish.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The Wolfpack Beastmaster is probably going to be the most highly sought-after. Cape, Wolfpack shield, new wolf piece - it's got everything Castle fans crave!

Gravatar
By in Mexico,

Solid series!!! I like it a lot!!!

Cupid is awesome, and so it is the Steampunk Inventor..

I want a Boobgey man, I want many of this new series.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Where’s that Wolfpack obsessed member? I hope they like it!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Saw a leak of the checksheet about a week ago and I was already planning where i'll have to put the new display case for them.

Gotta say I think the Bogeyman is my favourite from this run and can see it, the Steampunk Inventor and the Wolfpack being the high demand ones. Only real one you could slightly class as weak is the Pterodactyl costume, but thats mainly as I'm not a fan of the wing arms when it comes to display and posing.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Very strong series, except for the Pirate Quartermaster, Steampunk Inventor, Pterodactyl Costume Fan, Bogeyman, Jetpack Racer, Cat Lover, Longboarder, Astronomer Kid, Cupid, Hamster Costume Fan and Plush Toy collector.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is the astronomy kid bionic?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

OMG!! I love them all. Looks like I'll be buying a couple sealed boxes for sure!!

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

A few new and interesting pieces, such as the cockatoo, but not that interesting overall, with the exception of the Wolfpack Beastmaster, which looks awesome!

Gravatar
By in United States,

that JetPack racer is bringing the little kid in me back to life, that just wants some really cool overdesigned futuristic space warrior. And that bionic arm is a new half arm!?!? with the friends bionic arm. that's game changing. I imagine it's a Lego arm down to the elbow and then a short bar where the forearm would typicably be.

Gravatar

There's something very AI about this picture. Some details are warped & weird. Maybe it's just bad upscaling of a very low quality image, but something has gone wrong here and it almost feels dodgy, but there's plenty of photo's (what happened to scanning these days? Retro tech?) on the sellers website to believe this is not too good to be true.me

The reason it's warped is because the images are edited out of a picture of the check-off sheet, which wasn't completely flat at the time of taking the picture

They have a prosthetic arm. Whether it is bionic or not, who knows? How would it differ from a passive prosthetic or even 'real' LEGO hands, given they don't move anyway, let alone move under mind control from the figure.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’ve ordered full sets from Minifigures Plus before (the last six series, IIRC), they do a great job with orders usually ariving a couple days after release date (once I think it took 2wks, but that was an exception). They emailed me earlier today about Series 27 being up for pre-order and I’ve already placed mine order. Woot! The Wolfpack Beastmaster, Bogeyman, and Pirate Quartermaster are my favorites. I’m going to definitely hitup local shops to get extra of those.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Finally....Lego acknowledges Steampunk.

Gravatar
By in United States,

After the last two series (both of which I ordered complete sets of), my wallet is relieved that the only ones I'm majorly interested in are the Steampunk Inventor, the Telescope Kid, the Pterodactyl Costume Fan, and the Pirate Quartermaster. The Wolfpack Beastmaster is cool, too, but I never had any of the Wolfpack sets, so don't have any nostalgic reasons to want it. I'll be ordering a six-pack, and if it doesn't have a Wolfpack Beastmaster in it, I won't try to track one down on the secondary market.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll probably get a full set through my LUG connection. The rest will be bought as I find the ones I want more than one of. Too many in this batch that one will be more than enough for me. Longboarder, Cupid, Hamster & Jetpack Racer don't really do anything for me. Of course if I find them at 1/2 off like the D&D ones some extras of the Toy Collector & Cat Lover may be bought for parts as I'd love more than one of the cat & the plushies.

Here's my ranking of all 12 figures, mostly based on how unique and interesting they are, and how versatile they are as well:

12: Plush Toy Collector
11: Hamster Costume Fan
10: Longboarder
9: Pirate Quartermaster
8: Crazy Cat Lover
7: Pteranodon Costume Fan
6: Cupid
5: Boogeyman
4: Telescope Kid
3: Jetpack Racer
2: Steampunk Inventor
1: Wolfpack Beastmaster

@Maxbricks14:
By my count, there's anywhere from 11-15 new molds represented. They've usually been running about one per minifig, the last few times I've checked, so this seems a bit high.

Gravatar

The image in the article is not one from LEGO themselves, and the color balance is clearly not good either in general or between the individual minifigs. I'd probably wait until we have good, LEGO-provided pictures before being sure the colors on the torso print of the Crazy Cat Lover are what you believe they are.

Gravatar

Phenomenal set! I can't quite say "best" until they're in my hands, but it's definitely top-tier of the CMFs. Even the weakest (longboarder or hamster to me) are still super well-done.

Presumably new moulds, like how they did the bat and other similar figures. Which is probably why it comes with no accessories.

Plush Toy Collector and Cupid look great. I've bought Cotton Candy Cheerleader (43101) recently and I like it very much.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Very nice lineup.
It proves once again that the non-lincensed ones are much more appealing and creative.
Too bad we only get one 'original' series per year for quite some time already.

On the downside for this series are the short legs.
These are among the most annoying minifigure elements due to their lack of posability and the figure not being able to sit. I never understood why Lego doesn't use the medium legs more often.

But it's clearly not the same crest: the eyes are different, as are the sides. So they had to spend time, money, and effort on making a new design anyway and there was no reason why it absolutely had to be the old mold.

Likewise, the other accessories the beastmaster has are not from the 90s, but from the 20s--the sword is new and so is the hood. It is a major update on the classic figs in all ways but one.

And even when you take figures that do not call back to any classic castle factions, like 71027-4, into consideration, they still tend to have the old shield designs.

The blue thing on the astronomy / telescope kid is a prosthetic hand / arm. You are talking about a different character.

The old triangular shield is a call back to the designs of the past. Could they have used an ovoid one? Sure, but it wouldn't match the shape of the crest on their torsos. It is a modern take on a classic figure. It might also be that they are slightly cheaper to produce and they are shaving fractions of pennies off each set. Or maybe they decided that they just gave a larger shield to the Bat Lord so have gone back to a smaller one here. I would have liked to have seen an ovoid shield for Black Falcons, so the knights can have larger shields and soldiers have smaller shields. In that sense, I am fine with the less organised Wolfpack bandits having smaller shields.

I’m trans and that is simply a coincidence. Since there are so many pride flags that I’m pretty sure have used every shade at least once we shouldn’t assume any color combo has some LGBTQ+ meaning. If they clearly had a light blue white and pink flag of their shirt then sure but that Minifig is just happens to have a similar color scheme

I should've made myself clearer: I don't mean the kite shield which is about as old as the old triangular one, I think, and which Basil has. I mean the new triangular design like that this fellow right here 71011-3 came equipped with. It's slightly larger and, more importantly, has a normal shield handle, which is miles better for poseability than the T-shaped one of the shield used here.

Gravatar
By in United States,

There have been a whole bunch of shield designs through the years, all good in different situations:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=418

mini, ovoid, small round, large round, ridged, with-a-stud, elliptical, octagonal, pentagonal, rectangular curved, triangular, triangular long... plus the licensed ones from LotR, Zelda.

But the one wolfpack dude has is typically considered the "default" shield by many people. It's a time-tested design and iconic.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is a really strong series with a little something for everyone! My personal favorites are the cupid, the steampunk inventor, and the wolfpack beastmaster (of course).

I know my kids are going to love the plush collector, the cat lover, and the hamster costume fan!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Wolfpack Beastmaster is giving me GOT's Jon Snow vibes. Even the cape has a Night Watch "crow" like texture to it.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

That Cupid fig with its evil red eyes gives me the creeps.

Love the ones with the animals (wolf, cat, cockatoo) though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like how we now get a mini figure with a prosthetic arm since we got a mini doll (Autumn from the friends theme) with one last year.I’m surprised that they didn’t use the mold for Apocalyptic Abe’s (71023-13) hat but with different printing for the steampunk inventor.

@lordofdragonss:
The first question you should always asks is, “Can you build an army of these?” If your answer is to ask why someone would want to, the next question you should ask is, “Can you build an army of these?” I’m looking at the jetpack guy (now that I know he’s got a jetpack), and I’m seeing a literal airborne army, capable of flight rather than just slow descent. And I guarantee that’s what some people will do with those.

@Watsonite:
We did have a point when the series number corresponded with the year. In 2016, they released S15 and S16. From 2017-2020, they released S17-S20, one per year. Then in 2021, they released S21 and S22. This year (2024) it was S25 and S26. So we’re lagging behind and losing ground every few years.

@CCC:
Oddly, I’ve heard the Catholic Church has a group of astronomer-monks who specialize in the sort of multi-generational research that secular scientists would never touch because it relies on being able to attract scientists whose entire career will consist of collecting data for a dead man so that an unborn man can someday figure out if the first guy was onto something or not. In the secular world, you live by the mantra “publish or die”.

@Krutak:
Can I build an army of Bogeymen? Yes. Yes, I will.

Seems to be a lot of brown and pastel colours on these, maybe it's the 1970s again though

Is that what this is about? Flat earth conspiracy theories? As a Christian I can confirm that we don't believe that stuff. There's tons of scientific evidence against it. Earth is round, always has been, always will be."

I think a 'fun' TV show would pit two groups of flat earthers against each other as they search for the edge of the world. They are allowed to use any transportation means the TV station can afford (no space shuttles, sadly) in the search, and have an unlimited amount of time to do this quest, and any legal difficulties caused by the groups in other countries will be denied help by the state dept. The winning group finding proof of the edge of the earth wins a million bucks - good luck on the quest! (we'll never see those suckers again....)

One of two outcomes is likely, assuming they head in opposite directions. Either they encounter each other halfway around the world, and you hear about their Mutually Assured Destruction scenario on the evening news, or they _don’t_ encounter each other and now you’ve got two irate groups knocking down your door and demanding to know what kind of trick you pulled on them whereby they traveled in a straight line and somehow you were able to set up an exact duplicate of the city, including clones or whatever of the other group.

I'm disappointed to say that I don't love this series. I guess I'm kind of over the costume and kid "fan of something" designs. I always appreciate having 1 or 2 CMF per series that would be a welcome addition to my City but only the Cat Lover seems a possibility for me. I still regret not getting more plumbers or carpenters. :o( I do like the defacto inclusion of a monster, space person, and 2 historical figures, though. The steampunk inventor is just okay as his outfit seems way too busy.

The Longboarder will probably be the worst hit...it'll be the last one standing in stores. Contenders for the bottom spot are the hamster costume fan and plush toy collector.

Boy do I hope I get my hands on a few of those Wolfpack Beastmasters. I predict another Dragonborn Paladin situation on our hands.

And also... HOW HAS IT TAKEN LEGO THIS LONG TO MAKE A WOLF MOLD"

I knew you'd be here.

The Pterodactyl will look great with my dinosaur bones museum set! I already have the Triceratops minifigure next to the skeleton.

On a different note, I’m a little disappointed they don’t have any more retro figures like in previous releases (like the waiter and roller skate server). They would look great with my Vintage Car. (Speaking of which, how do you replace the surfboard with the teal parts? I dislike the surfboard).

Do you not have 71037-6 to put next to the T. rex skeleton as well?

Seconding the vote for more retro figures, but is your dislike of the surfboard because of how easily it detaches, or do you just not like the way it looks? I wish it stayed on better, but I can forgive that because it definitely adds to the look, IMHO.

3 gay minifigures. Especially that Plush Toy Collector. The most disappointing series ever.

By in Canada,

This set is quite lame and disappointing. Most characters are dull and unappealing except to one who like trans stuff or has a leftist view. With that being said only most of them are garbage. The Steampunk Inventor and Wolfpack Beastmaster are the best ones in the bunch because they feature a clever design and show a a story behind them. The rest however are what you might find in the 4+ Lego sets. I mean the Hamster Costume Fan and The Crazy Cat Lover? BORING! I know I might sound like a hater (that's cause I despise this set) but comparatively to other Lego Series this is just outright disappointing!

By in Netherlands,

A mixed bag. Too many slots taken up by boring minifigs that only exit for an accessory. The telescope kid in particular doesn't seem CMF worthy! Yet the steampunk guy looks like a fresh long overdue idea, as are a few others.

@TheOtherMike

I do not have the T-rex figure. I’m still hunting for that one. There is a store here in my city that sells that series and I have been slowly buying them up.

In regards to the vintage car, a bit of both. The surfboards fall off WAY too easily and I’m not really a fan of them. I’ll replace the pieces with teal pieces and that will look better to me. I’m also looking at buying the retro food truck and adding that to my collection. More retro figures and dinosaur figures would be nice, along with extra “seasonal” figures and some city ones (train operators, crew members, etc.).

You mean the rounded one, or a different one? If they updated the triangular one I didn’t realize it was so recent.
