Peter Reid has published this intriguing picture which I reckon has something to do with the Exo-Suit.
Stay tuned, we'll bring you more when we know it...

it says "report in 24 hours" :D
I've been waiting for this one for a long time...
can't wait to get it! hope it does't disapoint...
Peter Reid is making an appearance at the Bluewater Lego Store late July (think it said 27th) in relation to launch of the exo suit. There's a sign in store with date/time but I can't remember the specifics.
Saturday 26th.
A black and white picture. Nice one Pete. :) (You'll see.)
CCC - part of it may have to do with market penetration for the specific sets. The scientist set needs to reach people that might tune out traditional corporate communications. For the exo-suit, Pete Reid has a (globally?) renowned style within the community (who seem to be the target audience for the exo-suit), and this is a great way to make sure it gets widespread community exposure.
Just my ideas, I could be completely wrong of course. I think the marketing/release experiments they're doing with these two are neat. And I suspect they are still under close supervision/coordination with LEGO corporate.
Also, I'm guessing the minifigs are in blue or red uniforms. :) Or maybe pink uniforms?
YESSSSSSSSS! It's about time we got that reveal, the set seems to be coming out in a month.
I am now officially hyped. Go Peter Reid!
So excited for this set . . . wasn't it announced prior to the Ghostbusters and Female Scientists sets? Seems like it should have been out by now!
@SinKiller Nick: The fact that it's been so long in production tells me that LEGO Group has been spending a lot of time to get it just right. Not that we should be expecting perfection, of course.
Having become interested in Classic Space over the past few months (thanks in part to TLM), I'm looking forward to this set. Hearing about the AFOL involvement in the process really makes this sound great.
I don't know if we will see the set tomorrow, maybe another "teaser", but regardless, I would love to see it released tomorrow. Just a question, what do you think the color scheme will be? Any ideas on whether it will be 1979 space colors, futron-esque colors, or if it could be customizable to any color scheme?
(I wonder, is it possible those are the figures included in the set? And that turtle of his doesn't look quite like the ones he usualy makes, a possible inclusion?)
@Nabii: Is it fleshies in a non-licensed set? That would be a first, I believe.
As for people wondering why Pete is marketing this set, LEGO is trying an experiment with this one. They want to see what happens if they don't do any marketing themselves, and leave it to AFOLs to spread the word. They want to see if we have actually the clout that we claim to have.
Would like to see it released within the timescale for the classic space VIP offer!
^ It comes out August 1, I believe.
^^^ He has said rather mysteriously on another blog "Flesh toned heads/hands etc. are used to represent characters played by actors (or likely to be represented by them in the case of many super heroes). The figures in Pete's Exo-suit did not represent actors - and that's all I'll say."
That pic was posted yesterday, about 24hrs ago...
Does anyone else find it kind of odd that they're potentiall revealing the Exo-Suit just a week or two after they revealed the Research Institute? I would've thought they'd let the first announcement breathe a bit.
Check out his Flickr stream, he now has another pic, this time with a video link attached! Check it out, looks like the set will come with one of his signature turtles! :)
I am so excited about this. LEGO is really throwing a bone to all the whiny, loud-mouthed spacers (of which yours truly is surely one) who've chanted, nay DEMANDED a return to Classic Space for years beyond count.
Now in one year we have Benny's Space ship and Pete's greeble monster. Like Jedwards says, it's up to AFOLdom to float these boats. Get out there and vote with your wallet. Otherwise this exercise will be the last.
(Given the number of Spaceships I see sitting at TRU, I'm doubtful AFOLdom does have the clout it claims it does - but I tend to err on the side of pessimism.)
@dragonboy1: OK, I am now even more hyped. Official promo video? M-364 Turtle? Fleshie heads? Bring on that robot, Mr. Reid! Another 24 hours?
I saw in legoloverman's photstream a Blacktron Exo-Suit with a trans-yellow canopy. Is the redesigned Exo-Suit canopy-equipped with two seats?! I would love that, but only if it was still smallish. I bet the female one gets the suit and the male one rescues with the M364 Turtle. EDIT: The turtle doesn't look like the original design...
(I have LEGO Space: Building The Future right next to my computer right now as I type.)
going crazy now.... great teaser
I don't care if the turtle is slightly different, as long as it's in the set, I'll be happy! I wonder if you can modify the Exo to it to fight for the bad guys or the good. That would be a definite plus for the set! :)
Can't wait.
I just woke up and I am waiting for some more pics or videos .I waited more than 24 hours but I understand it might take awhile
