75402 ARC-170 Starfighter revealed!
Posted by CapnRex101,
The much-anticipated 75402 ARC-170 Starfighter has been revealed, via JB Spielwaren. This is probably my favourite starfighter in Star Wars, so I have been looking forward to a new design.
Fortunately, it does not disappoint! This model seems smaller than 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter from 2010, but its shape and the functional S-foils look good. Moreover, the minifigures seem impressive, finally revisiting Phase II Clone Pilots.

Pricing has yet to be confirmed, but we should have that information later today, as well as many more 2025 set images!
What do you think of the new ARC-170 Starfighter? Let us know in the comments.

Looks great, but do I dare ask the price?
No dual molded legs?

Rumored to be $70. These days it feels like Lego presumes the 20% retailer discount...
Looks great, but not worth the $140 I'm sure It'll cost *facepalm*

First time buying a Disney licensed set, eh?
It appears to have suffered the same fate as the X-wings, with laser cannons that are way too short… Otherwise it looks great!

As nice as this looks, if it's that much, I'll stick with my 8088, if I ever get it out of storage, that is. Besides, this one doesn't come with Kit Fisto.
It appears Disney really horked up how blaster ammunition is loaded.
Me trying to figure out how the frick those engines are built
It's not bad. But I still find myself wanting to get the 2005 version. Yeah it's little chunky compared to this new one. But this one looks like it's gone on a weight loss program. Its just a tad too slim.
I like the nose on the old one. Minus the gap. It just looks "right" to my eye. And I like the large chunk of red.
the wings are way too small
I have 8088 and this doesn’t improve on it enough for me to buy it. 8088 is massive though, so maybe the scale of this one is a little more manageable.
15 years… shoved to realise it’s been that long.
Not sure if I’ll get it though, too many sets I want.
Very cool, i'll certainly be getting this.

You mean specifically the front section? Large Minion eye in white, small Minion eye in dark-red (75551), 2x2 donut tile, 1x1 round plate inverted, and an ice skate.
I always find it funny when Star Wars sets are advertised with the minifigs holding the spring-loaded shooter missiles. They are clearly representing laser bolts, and you certainly can't hold those!
I don't want to hear the complaining on this set. It's perfect, I don't have any issues with it. Anyone who does is just being ungrateful.

Hey, there have been Star Wars sets whose flick-fire missiles were their own gun barrels.

Those are at least a physical thing, whereas these are literal laser bolts.
Here comes the Lego 2025 sets leak extravaganza!
I wonder if the image of a blue and white Jedi Starfighter is hinting at a future set?

A microfighter prehaps?
I mean, it's not like there have been leaks or anything.

Dang. I didn't look that closely, assumed it was either Venator-class or Acclamator-class!
p.s. I like this. Smaller is okay; display space is a problem.
If it's $70, that's okay, too. The 2010 version was $60 for 396 pieces. That would be about $85 factoring inflation. This new version has 101 more pieces.
Pictures of every set coming in January have now dropped, and this set is the most exciting.
Let's see, 500 pcs, at 10c/pc, plus Star Wars tax... I'm going to say $69.99. It's been a long time since I've bought a minifig-scale SW set, but I've long regretted not getting the ARC-170 the last time it was made. I'll be fixing that--though probably not without a discount. Looks really nice.
Out of room, otherwise I'd get it. It is among the many prequel vehicles I don't own.
Looks very clean - hopefully it improves on the sagging wings that 7259 and 8088 suffered from. My only gripe is that the front of the nose looks a little too "square" on top.
Plain gray legs looked better than these white legs with a little bit of gray printing.
It’s beautiful

I'm not ungrateful, just poor - the most heinous crime a LEGO fan can commit, apparently.
Um... that box art. That's not the Battle of Coruscant from the start of the movie. That's from the Order 66 sequence when Plo Koon is blown up.
So these clones are directly complicit in a notorious galactic massacre. You know, for kids!

Grateful for what? This isn't a gift, no-one is being done a favour, we pay money for it if we want it.
Gratitude towards companies for giving us the opportunity to give them more money is... not a good thing.
Movie accurate Clones!? from Lego?
Think I am still happy with my 8088 and don't need this.
Though its parts have started to yellow and wings have started to sag, have had to prop them up (have it up on a stand so it could be displayed with wings out)

Eeeh, I would personally switch the astromech with a more unique one and maybe switch out the generic clone pilot with a random jedi...
Other than those minor gripes, it's perfect! Will still be picking this one up.
The proportions look kinda off compared to previous Arc 170s.
Plus unless its just the angle of photos, it seems significantly smaller than the previous one.
While being rumored to cost the same price.
The guns are too tiny and I'm not convinced by the tip of the nose, but otherwise it looks pretty good! Slightly smaller size gives it a chance to be less floppy than previous versions. I appreciate seeing three clone pilots with different helmet prints too. For a good price, I'll consider it!
yay more downsizing while increasing the price!
It's beautiful

Shouldn't the front edges of the top and bottom s-foils be angled, rather than straight? I thought the same for the main s-foils, but looking at images I can see now that they are perhaps closer to straight. Nonetheless I'm fairly certain the edges of the smaller s-foils should be angled.

I know this is meant in jest, but it still rubs me the wrong way when individuals back corporations rather than advocating for the rights of consumers to justifiably demand more for their money. Companies are not your friend.
I honestly had never realized that there were three clones in that craft — I never watched the cartoons taking place between the films. It implies that whenever such a starfighter was hit, three men went down, then… That doesn't seem very efficient, even accounting that 200,000 units were ready, and a million more well on the way… (Or was it actually more or less at that point in the chronology?)
I probably won't be buying this set, but I'm happy lots of you Bricksetters find it appealing.

They should be angled when they open, but they are closed in the main image. For complete accuracy, they should actually nestle into the central wings and sit flush, but that is probably not possible at anything close to minifigure-scale.
Looks fantastic to me. I like that it's more compact, I really like these smaller models that don't sacrifice detail. And it looks like a rubber band free S-foil opening mechanism, which I am always delighted to see.
interesting that they gave us both Jag and Odd Ball - were they canonically in the same ship? @CapnRex101 - I feel like you're the one who might know!
Also I just spotted Plo Koon wisely sneakin' away to avoid Order 66 in the bottom right of the picture.
And, final thought - I have always enjoyed the fact that the ARC-170 is the only case where Lego putting the astromech in sideways is in fact accurate.

Dear lord you guys are NEVER happy
Sorry, but the chibi aesthetic makes all the Star Wars ships of old look better, and the new ships look sooooo lame.
To wit, I can't recollect a product reveal on BS that explicitly referred to the prior (and much better) set.
There's no Jedi in this set because it's not worthy of one. I won't buy this until 50% discount- which will be soon.

No and I find it unlikely they would fly an ARC-170 together because they are officers; Odd Ball is a commander and Jag a captain. However, they were both on Cato Neimoidia during the Outer Rim Sieges near the end of the war, so they almost certainly would have met.
While on the topic and for those wondering about Plo Koon's starfighter, obviously he is shot down by an ARC-170 on Cato Neimoidia, but Odd Ball's inclusion indicates the set is based on the earlier part of the Battle of Cato Neimoidia. Odd Ball is recalled for the Battle of Coruscant and later goes with Obi-Wan Kenobi to Utapau, so he is there when Order 66 is enacted. I am sure some people will claim the Clone Wars box art is incorrect, but LEGO is right on this one!
During the battle of Coruscant, the pilot sitting behind Odd Ball seems to have the same helmet markings as Jag. The one with red/yellow markings is in a different fighter though.
Honestly, I know theirs some logistical errors with the specific clone pilots they picked... but I am far too happy to see enough clones in a clone ship to man it properly. (Looking at you dropships with one pilot, or other Arc 170's with a jedi instead of a proper pilot.)
Looks smaller than the previous one, I like the minifigs a lot, as they present a substantial improvement compared to the previous ones. But now for the price...
8088 is better.

All I'm saying is that this kind of thing isn't the only weapon-related weirdness in SW sets.
"They're [fans who hate widdle ships] all over me!"

Finally, after all these years but... Where is Fisto? :(
This looks really good, but I believe the price is rumored to be around $70-ish, so that makes this a wait for sale.

We have ones of the spaceship.
This set, at least for the us, is 10 dollars more than the original and has about 100 more pieces so the price again for the us imo doesn't seem that bad. Not trying to defend LEGO or their increasing prices but, just saying.

Angled is probably the wrong word. I meant that the wing edges should be diagonal, rather than straight, i.e. constructed with wing plates rather than standard plates
This is the worst looking ARC-170 Lego has released. Shrinking the scale definitely screwed up the proportions of the ship - particularly noticeable around the guns, cockpits (which are now too large), etc. The nose, fuselage, and secondary wings are really blocky, a far call from should be a sleek ship. The worst part is, its really easy to think of simple element substitutions/design changes that would have made those areas a lot better - it just seems like a really low-effort design.
I think I'm extra disappointed because this was one of the sets I was genuinely looking forward to buying this year, having owned the excellent 8088 . Safe to say, this is definitely a pass for me now. Naturally, it will somehow be $75 or something inane...

Sorry, I misunderstood. Yes, the leading edges of the S-foils should be angled. The taper is relatively shallow though, so I presume the designer decided that straight edges would be better than having them angled too much. I will try and find out though because I am also curious.
As a huge ARC-170 fan this set has me just whelmed. Smaller than I would have liked and overall just feels like a downgrade from previous releases of this fighter. That being said I'm a sucker and will still probably pick it up but it won't be a Day One purchase.

I always remember the guy behind Oddball with the blue so just checked against the Disney 4K. Watching the opening of the film back the pilot behind Oddball is def wearing Jag's helmet (00:03:35) (clearly it's not Jag himself but maybe they share a generic helmet design with with same markings) while the clone at the rear has the red/yellow striped version (00:03:37) so might work as a ROTS crew line-up inspired by the opening scenes of the film :)

I imagine they only created three or four helmet designs for the Clone Pilots in Revenge of the Sith, hence the repetition.

They disguised them well as they can be hard to spot if not looking for them.
I'm hopeful that either Jag or the Yellow/Red helmeted pilot turns up in a Magazine Gift so I can grab some of the "repeated" designs for a recoloured CG gunship and use them as generic pilots
