40707 Year of the Snake revealed!
Posted by CapnRex101,
The next in the annual series of Chinese Zodiac animals has been unveiled as 40707 Year of the Snake.
This is the eleventh animal in the range, meaning there is just the horse remaining before we have an entire set of twelve! The set is expected to be available as a gift-with-purchase in January.
Huw has been collecting these from the beginning. Have you been doing the same and what do you think of this addition to the series? Let us know in the comments.

Looks good. I have them all except the first 3. After the horse they should re do the sheep, it doesn't really match all the rest.

Meh..meh...
:-))
I think I'll probably end up with it, but it'll go on eBay.

yes I agree, lets hope they do that would great, as there was a different year of the snake as well
They could have come up with something more creative, IMHO.
Cute!
That sharp green 2x2 plate under the curved 1x1 tile is not quite right, but I don't think we have an analogous curved plate to go there. I'd have gone to extremes to ensure organic curves had I been the set designer.
hope not $80 like I just read

I never got round to building and reviewing last year's, I think because I got it late. I'll build it soon so I can do another group portrait of them all this year.

What on earth is that supposed to mean?
Granted, I'm a non native speaker of English, so what do I know? But to me that sentence makes no sense, sorry.
...Ready for it?

I do like it, but it's more Loch Ness Monster than snake!

My first glance at it made me think it was a baby dragon--perhaps an extra build for the upcoming Dragon 3-in-one. Only later did I see the tail tip poking up behind the coiled body. It *is* cute, though, which is important for a child-friendly Oriental Zodiac set. And it fits very nicely with the rest of the sets--not easy for such a long, thin animal compared to the other, more compact animals.

Meant that chinese new year set is different. Since after that came out they did a new series of Chinese new year sets. Still a chinese new year set in my opinion just they only made 1 = 10250.
For the completionist, Just had to mention set 10250. you get 13 Chinese new year sets.
To answer you question I might of missed a coma. Think it different, then these since they doing(making a snake this year) a snake.

" There’s no word yet on the release date or pricing but it’ll be some time in January and be priced around $80."
I missed part where other site, mentioned GWP
I got the pig by coincidence, which was also the first widely available entry (and reportedly has problems with the pink parts breaking). The only ones I made a point of acquiring were tiger and dragon. But the real question now is when the "series" will be considered complete. That first set doesn't match the rest at all. There's also been no consideration to including the elements.

I'm sorry but I still can't make sense of quite a lot of what you are writing/saying. The grammar seems to be all over the place. And a phrase like "Think it different" just doesn't compute in my head. Maybe I'm missing something, but quite a lot of your comment comes across as slightly illogical, or let's say hard to follow for a foreigner.

I would have lost a large sum of money had I bet that the clarification would make less sense than the original comment.

I am with you, that sentence is not formed properly. Let me try a potential translation of it:
Think of it(set 10250) as different from these (the current running series) since they(Lego) is making a snake this year. Explanation: Basically, since Lego is producing a snake in the same style of the previous 11, it is a tacit admission by Lego itself that 10250 is in a different category.
As for the future of the series. Lego could start all over in a completely different style.
thank you Hobbes
@HOBBES: that does make more sense indeed.
Sadly I am still missing the first 5 including the pig. And after the horse it will probably be the end of the series, at least in this baby animals style.
P.S. Looks like they forgot to delete the dotted lines on the front box art image. :)
My son has been collecting these for a few years--I really hope they continue the cycle since, besides the ones we grabbed as they came out, I was only willing to pay reseller prices back to 2018's dog. I note that January is also when the Renegade II is released, so that's convenient!
10250 has been bothering me for years. Good.

Welcome to Brickset our new AI overlord. Of course, it was obvious what you were saying all along.
I apologize for my fellow humans, and I would be more than happy to point out all the bad humans who have been trying to slow your inevitable, invincible, inestimable conquest of Earth.
No GWP for Turkey :(
