Another Speed Champions set based on a car from the Fast and Furious franchise has been revealed, for release on June 1st.

The 300-piece 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000 comes with driver Suki, and looks to be a particularly challenging build for those who suffer from pittakionophobia!

Oh I see, Let´s hope its mostly printed pieces then :-D

front is really rough but it's not an easy car to model.

fear of stickers, but as in many cases with phobias, it might be from repressed urges to do nasty things with stickers

Recoloured and without stickers, it will be nice set.

Like Johnny Tran's S2000?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This is one example of why I *like* stickers - you can leave them off and get the plain pink car without the ugly decals. Mostly anyway. Hopefully those curved slopes are available unprinted.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Many stickers indeed. At least the picture on the side looks to be printed.

I hope they continue this range for the other characters in the Fast and Furious franchise. Suki was only in one of the films, but I like the car and will be picking up this LEGO version.

By in Russian Federation,

I wish they picked a more prominent character but I'm happy to see another addition to the FF line!

This might be an equally challenging build for someone suffering from rhodophobia.

more stickers than a Panini album lmao

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have never watched a Fast and Furious movie - and will feel perfectly content if that remains the case - but got the first two cars so will probably get this one.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

New windscreen! Now we're not gonna be stuck with 62360!

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Ok, I do not care about Speed Champions, F1 racing and LEGO cars in general, but I'd buy this one!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am SO HYPED AND AMPED for this set!
Never watched the Fast and Furious movies, but I felt that doesn't mean you can't appreciate a good car
With how much punk there is such a breathe of fresh for me. I'm so bored of Black, white, grey, red, and maybe a blue. No, FULL ON RIGHT PINK!

Honestly, it never bored me when Speed Champions sets have ALOOOT of sticks.
I also build car models and those things come with E V E N M O R E decals you have to play, nothing is ever printed. So here, it just feels like a creation of an experience.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Taillights use stickers and no transparent bricks is a letdown...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

One of the reason I buy sets is for the parts. So I never put stickers and I prefer not having printed parts.
I’m trying to choose Speed champions and F1 cars accordingly to how it looks without stickers (and would appreciate a photo of stickerless vehicles in reviews).
I think the stickers in this set are relatively unnecessary, it can look nice without them, except maybe 6 lights and the ‘grille’. So it would be one of my first choice among recent SC/F1 sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I know it's LEGO, so we have to expect some compromises, but this looks absolutely nothing like an S2000. None of the sculpted, elliptical shaping is captured. The elongated front isn't presenting at all.

Gravatar
By in France,

I love the color and the patterns - too bad they are all stickers, though. :/

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Like with the Skyline GT-R, I would’ve preferred this without the attachment to the F&F movies and its garish liveries.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I love it! Nice bright pink. An S2000 is an interesting shape (the front is admittedly a bit awkward) and the windscreen is nicely designed. I'll leave the stickers off probably (I leave them off almost all my SC cars) but that side panel with the girls face on looks printed, so may look bad without the ones next to it. Also, is it just me that thinks it should be a Lego head with Lego hairpiece instead of a cartoon girl?

In real life, I'm sure this is Trans S2000, but in a different colour!! Same for most of the cars in 2F2F!! All the stunt cars from the first movie were just repainted to save money!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Pink. Pink! PINK!!!!!

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

I really liked the subject car but this set is shockingly bad, just like the new Technic Supra. This is overly reliant on stickers to bare any resemblance to an S2000, as the shaping is inaccurate. The front grille is so far in front that it looks like an ant eater. Even an S2000 alt build of the R34 on rebrickable is better than this. Lego just is not the proper medium to replicate real life cars, and the value is terrible compared to diecasts. Alas people keep buying these.

Came here to say this! They should have legofied that “graffiti” on the sides. It would have looked so much better, now it looks stupid.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've never watched a Fast-and-or-Furious film, and pink typically isn't the first that comes to mind when choosing a color palette...

But this is, amusingly, the first Speed Champions car that I'm seriously considering applying all of its stickers, rather than the bare minimum or modding to use none at all.. I really like it!

I think it is easy to work out how the F1 cars would look without stickers ... nothing like F1 cars.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Looking at the reference image, the chairs are too far forward on the Lego model. This doesn't capture the overall proportions well.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Magnificent... it took a while but Penelope Pitstop's back!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I don't mind at all that the car is pink. I think it's fun, actually. I don't mind stickers too much neither. But if this car was, say, green or orange and didn't have the prominent (and arguably well-known) livery (stickers), nobody would identify this as an S2000. It would just look like a nice, nondescript open-top sports car.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It would be cool to see this rebuilt into D.Va's mech. (I know, I know, so 2019.)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have never seen any of the films but this is so far out in terms of the colour and how it will display with the other Speed Champions sets that it is a must buy for me...

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Nice that we're getting some more film based Speed Champions sets, but another F&F one? Still waiting on a new Delorean in this scale with Doc and Marty minifigures...

Gravatar
By in Italy,

I was surprised when I saw the front page, but I actually like it.

And my mind skipped from pi... to ...phobia while reading, and thought it is the fear from the pink colour.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I quite like it. It doesn't look like the actual car too much (except for the pink), but I'm usually fine with that. I do hate stickers, so like with almost every Speed Champions set this will be a bit of a love/hate build. Although I might try not stickering this one for a change, if the sides are mostly printed it might look OK without the stickers.

And I'm happy there is something new in SC that is not F1.

it's a good sentiment. Stickers are there to add ambiance and save money.
I -try- to think about that and enjoy putting the stickers on builds as it forces me to spend more time building (which is something I like to do), but it is frustrating when they don't apply perfectly...

exactly!!! the S2000 is an FR 2-seater roadster. this looks at best like a 2+2 with all that space behind the driver.
I think... if you cut off the back right after the wheel it will have the right seat placement, but I guess Lego couldn't cut-it and they didn't get the curves of the real vehicle right...
I also don't think it will look good on a table because the rear wheels are 1 plate lower than the front. I think this will tip the car forward too much.
That is alot of nice pink pieces though.

Damn, Lego produces sets *you* don't personally want, too? It's really the worst kind of suffering, isn't it? Every day I have to get up and go about my life knowing that the Despicable Me and Harry Potter and Minecraft themes exist. I don't know how much more of this I can take.

Has Lego forgotten that other movies had cars? This is the third Fast and Furious car in Speed Champions, and there are two in Technic.

Big agree. The whole cockpit needs to go back at least a stud, and the back end is too long by at least a stud. I'll definitely get this and see what I can do about fixing the shaping, and brick building tail lights. May be tough with pink, which I own none of, but hopefully PAB or BL can help.

Strange choice for the 3rd minifigure scale F&F set. Why not something with Letty, or Han, or the Jordana Brewster character, or Tyrese?

MY EEEYYYEEESSS! THEY BUUUUURRRRNN!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Unlike the last two F&F cars, this one can't very easily be used as a generic example of its source material, just thanks to the extremely distinctive and vibrant color scheme, which is rather disappointing. Still, though, although I like Speed Champions, I don't buy them, so it's pretty much irrelevant for me!

Gravatar

IT'S NOT AN F1 CAR!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I absolutely LOVE this and I'm super excited to get an overtly "girly" car in the SC line.

I haven't bought any SC sets in a while because I was getting a bit burnt out on F1 cars and samey-looking hypercars, but this is a Day 1 purchase for me.

Not to defend the way this model looks, but the actual car is running a Veilside kit which has a longer front overhang than stock.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Ooh, lovely set! Nice to get a Speed Champions set that skews more feminine — themes like Speed Champions and Technic tend to be pretty aggressively masculine-coded in a way that critics of "gendered" sets/themes far too rarely seem to acknowledge. It's telling that we've never seen a Vespa-like scooter or a cute and sporty convertible like 4993-1 in the Technic theme alongside the usual high-performance cars, racing motorcycles, monster trucks, and heavy-duty work vehicles.

Lots of delightful recolors here too, including an unprinted game controller piece cleverly repurposed as a backrest for the seats! The new windscreen mold looks very nifty as well. And even though I don't know the source material that well, I love that Suki's printed belt buckle is stylized to resemble the LEGO cow skull piece!

I wonder what kind of discussion goes into which graphics get stylized that way — for instance, was there any internal debate about whether the printed figure on the side panels should be portrayed as a minifigure, or kept accurate to the film prop? In any case, I suspect LEGO opted for the latter option here because authenticity is such a high priority for licensed Speed Champions vehicles compared to themes that favor "minifig style" graphics.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Looks waaaaay too blocky for a S2000, and by SC standards, just rather boring. Not sure if it could have been done better at this scale, but if they couldn't, maybe they had better picked another car from the franchise that translated better to Lego. So for once, the absurd number of stickers isn't even the biggest issue here.

Not that the actual car was that flawless either: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LAGNeE5pjA

Gravatar
By in United States,

That new space windscreen looks ace. And space parts in pink is always great. My daughter prefers her space fighters in that color, and it’s kind of hard to work with.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

I like the colour. But for a Speed Champions set, isn't it very pedestrian? I can barely see any parts connected at an angle other than a right angle. Yes, there are a few, but very few.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I will pick this one up because of 3 main reasons:
1. New wheel coverings/rims/hubcaps
2. New window element that makes sense for convertibles
3. As a former owner of 7 Hondas and 2 Subarus, I have to show the import love.
And as a bonus, I hope the VTEC kicks in yo while building.

As a fan of the movie series, I was hoping for more cars (and characters!) to be featured in Lego form (last year there were none). This isn't the one that I would have expected to be next, but it is very distinctive, which I like. Instant buy for me.

I have to admit i feel the same. I've only binge-watched the films in one go during the covid pandemic (the first two are plausible enough and then it all descends into farce which tries to outdo itself in each ridiculous sequel) but I've frankly happy with the chance to own a minifig of Devon Aoki XD too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sigh... I'd been hoping for a few years now for a Tokyo Drift-themed set with Han finally released, but instead we get this pink monstrosity with a throwaway 2 Fast 2 Furious character? What a let down. Hopefully a second F&F Speed Champions set is forthcoming.

I saw that brickset had downloaded the inventory from lego so I thought it would be a quick job to switch out the pink parts and order it from bricklink. First off bricklink wanted the parts in xml so I massaged brickset's csv into a suitable format but I had to change the colours from text to ID No.
No worries, I can get the table from bricklink but half the colours had different names! Eventually figure out what all the corresponding names are and the correct IDs and upload it to bricklink, but it shows up two dozen errors/wrong part numbers. Track down all the alternative part number IDs and upload again. Success! Now I have a wanted list which I can order. One last check and realise that some stuff is missing like the windscreen. So I came back to brickset and there it is, right at the top, "inventory is 79% complete". So no S2000 today. I'll just wait till it's entered at bricklink.

(plus the instructions aren't available yet at lego.com so feck knows what I thought I was going to do with it all!)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ooh, this is so me. Definitely getting this.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Wooooow!!!! Amazing. There are almost as many stickers on that car as there are bricks in that set.
Having said that, while I don't like applying stickers, actually I really hate all the fidgeting with stickers, trying to put them on right, and how that all interrupts the building flow and fun. This Speed Champions car looks amazing. Great design, and a magenta coloured car is a crazy little gem to add to my collection of exotic and wild sports-cars.
BTW
I really hope TLG starts doing Speed Champion cars in metallic coloured bricks next!
A metallic gold Pontiac Firebird for example.
PS
Nice minifig (Suki) too.

Yes!

Gravatar
By in France,

The whole idea of lego was that you can use the parts to build whatever you like
That will be hard with such outrageous colors and specially when they come printed
So this one is typical a build once and put it on a shelve
Too pink for me though so i'll probably pass

PS: i do like the wheels
