Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 21
Posted by CapnRex101,There is still potential for more droids in the Star Wars Advent Calendar this year and I believe the next brick-built droid will appear today, based on yesterday bringing a Super Battle Droid.
We can open the door and find out...
Imperial Probe Droids have appeared several times in LEGO Star Wars and this model feels like quite a throwback, similar to the nearly unchanging design used so frequently between 2016 and 2019. It looks alright, although the droid from 75322 Hoth AT-ST was so vastly superior and I wish we had received a comparable model here, even if it had to be divided over two days.
Overall - This is a decent Imperial Probe Droid, though it looks dated when we know LEGO Star Wars can do so much better with this droid.

0 points (+ 64 from yesterday = 64): HP - doesn't work with the 'figs.
1 (+26 = 27): Dy - Kitten earns the point.
2 (+41 = 43): MC - not bad.
3 (+48 = 51): Fr - better than MC. Sometimes, more is more!
4 (+63 = 67): SW - Stalker, voyeur and snitch. A nicely executed (this variant slightly chubby) yet most hated type of droid in the galaxy far far away earns many points!
5 (+58 = 63): Ct - If City wants, they can. A shame they mostly don't want to!
Nuts, I'm doing one more.
Stewie: Hey, how you doing, Brian?
Brian: Lousy.
Stewie: I know who can cheer you up. The robot from SpaceCamp.
Jinx: Brian and Jinx are friends.
Brian: Get that out of here.
Stewie: Okay, how about the robot from Rocky IV?
Robot: HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAULIE.
Brian: Look, Stewie, get these stupid '80s movie robots out of here, and leave me alone.
Disney: Déjà vu, but I like it better than in case of the HP sweaters. 4/5p
Friends: 4.5/5p
Minecraft: 3.5/5p
Harry Potter: Even if it's not Christmas-themed, at least it's something new. 3.5/5p
Star Wars: 3/5p
Anyway, I *kind of* like this, but it's really a chibi Probe Droid or a partially damaged one. The one from 75322 is far superior. I realize they're under parts restrictions here, but if they'd duplicated the one from the AT-ST I'd be much happier. This is like HALF a Probe Droid. I added some nozzle pieces to the "hands" on mine just to get some better shaping in.
I agree, the one included with 75322 is still the best. This guy looks kinda squished. He reminds me a little of the ID9 Seeker Droids from Star Wars: Rebels.
Ooh that’s an angry hamburger

Maybe he's *half* a probe droid and Babu's been reassembling it.
Nuts. Now I wish he were a two-day build if that'd have allowed for all the parts from 75322. And in festive colors, now that I think about it.
Imperial probe droids are black though...
I look forward to the discussions when this probe droid shows up as the minifigure of the day. :)

Or sometimes very, very dark grey….
My favorite is the one from 75014. No, not the one you got in your copy. The one from mine. See, I got an extra bag of the small parts in mine, which meant I had an extra five Battle Droid arms. So I clipped four of them into the four arms on the original build, and added the fifth in one of the open positions as the shorter arm. It’s a bit risky to clip clips to other clips, but it looks a lot closer to the film proportions, while still retaining the clips at the bottom of all the arms.
