Iron Man arm printing jumpscare in reasonably priced sets

By in United States,

This is a really good set lineup.

That Spider-Man 2 set must’ve sold well. The new Spider-Man 3 one’s pretty cool, and a surprisingly good value.

The Daily Bugle’s neat, and a nice alternative for people who couldn’t afford the larger one.

Those new Iron Man minifigs with the printed arms are looking nice! Also, did anyone else notice that we finally have a new Tony Stark head print?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am very confused. These are all fairly priced.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Spider-man 3 getting explicit mention on the boxart vs the vaguer 'Infinity Saga' is incredibly amusing.

As someone who's not really bought any Marvel sets for a very long time, I'm probably going to get that Spider-man 3 model. It's well-priced and I have some nostalgia for those films.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Pretty decent value, right?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

No mechs (apart from Rhino, where it makes sense) and decent prices. Is everything alright, TLG?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I’m somewhat amused that Tobey Maguire Spidey has no arm prints but dual moulded legs while generic Spidey has arm prints but plain blue legs.

I had to look twice at the prices - I can’t believe how reasonable they are on the whole!

By in United States,

Do we think we’ll ever get a regular black suit/symbiote spiderman in a set? Outside of that SDCC exclusive. Or must more random venomized characters lol.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The most creatively bankrupt wave I think I've seen from Marvel. A Hulkbuster, multiple venomized characters and a Spider-Man car... It would be like if the next Harry Potter wave was a Ford Anglia and a brick built Hedwig with a potions classroom. Insanely derivative, even for Lego.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Excellent! We haven't had a new Hulkbuster in a few weeks. I was afraid they forgot about them.

Kidding aside, these look pretty good. The large Iron Man model is quite appealing. Can't wait to see a review of that.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Not sure if I'll get any of these, but this might be a return to form for LEGO Marvel. We need more sets like the Daily Bugle.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Disappointed by 76335 Spidey vs Ghost Rider. GR's face and torso printing don't capture the character well, the bike is underwhelming and the Spidey minifig looks like one we've seen many times before.

On the other hand, I'm pleasantly surprised by 76334 Spidey vs Sandman. The Sandman minifigure is great and the dynamism of the action is cleverly portrayed. The price is very reasonable, too. If I could change one thing it would be to give Sandman the swirling sand base: https://brickset.com/parts/6249263/mini-leg-part-no-1 . Still, I'm seriously considering picking this one up day 1.

As for the other sets, they're pretty appealing. I reckon the whole line will sell well.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Given Lego's track record with Hulkbusters, I'm surprised that the Iron Man figure looks so good. But here we are.

I like another addition to the range of Marvel hero cars (would it kill them to focus on somebody other than Spider-Man?)

I like the Ghost Rider set too, although I feel like that's been before at least once.

The Daily Bugle looks lovely, and I imagine it's been designed to go alongside Oscorp. It's probably gonna be pricey.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is that FINALLY a new Tony Stark face I see?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Thing I'm disappointed in here is there are no details in the obligatory Hulkbuster set that specifically locate it in Age of Ultron's Johannesburg - some non-English signage would have been neat

My money's on them making a minifig called Venomized Venom first.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Omg they finally did it. A different venom.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Not much interest in most of these, but indeed seem decent sets at reasonable prices. And I do actually kinda like that big Iron Man....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Only one of these I'll probably be getting is 76335, since the only Ghost Rider set I have is 76173. Sure, it doesn't have as much as 76058 did, but it's also cheaper than 76058 was, even before adjusting for inflation. On the other hand, if I didn't already have 76031 (and yes, I know it's ten years old, but still), 76343 would tempt me.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Amazing wave. Buildable Iron Man looks incredible, same with the Daily Bugle. And finally a Spider-Man 3 set. We so need more Tobey Maguire Spider-Man sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Honestly, not a bad line up. The prices feel more in line with expected value than in the past, especially for a big fig.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Playscale Daily Bugle - yay
$20 overpriced - boo

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oh my... That's a new Tony Stark head if I'm not mistaken... That's the biggest shock for me here

Gravatar
By in United States,

Am I the first to see a new Tony Stark print?

Lol

LEGO has broken us so much these past few years that we’re all just overwhelmed that the prices aren’t shockingly high. Well played, LEGO. Well played

Gravatar
By in United States,

Don't really care about the Spidercar, but I may buy that set just to get the Venomized Wolverine minifig. And $10 to get a Ghost Rider minifig and bike is a really good price.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I usually have very little interest in these Marvel sets, but nearly all are appealing!
And the prices seem almost …. Reasonable!

That new Ghost Rider fig is great, and the Sandman battle looks interesting and affordable for 3 great figs and a nice small display!
Go LEGO!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Haven't been following the Minifigures of Marvel for a while, but how is it that we're getting Venomized Captain America and Wolverine, plus a number of previous ones like Iron Man and Doc Ock, but the only proper Symbiote Spiderman we have is the 2012 Comic Con exclusive??? That's just baffling to me.

SSHHHH! Its like in baseball when a pitcher is pitching a perfect game: you don't SAY anything, you don't HINT at it, you don't even THINK about it!

Gravatar
By in Italy,

We're not there yet with the Hellcycle (Ghost Rider's bike)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

With all the “Venomised” characters they’ve been doing I can only assume designers at Lego are big fans of 2008 video game Web of Shadows

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Wait a minute... are these all fairly priced?!

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

What are those flimsy, hodgepodge background builds in the smaller sets? How do you build their parts into something else?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Buildable Iron man looks better than I thought I'm glad to see a A Spiderman 3 set and I like the new Mysterio with Leg printing.

Venomised wolverine is abit mehh same with venomised Cap!
And I'll just keep my old Ghost Rider as he's in good condition. Not too keen on the new one.

Gravatar
By in South Korea,

I love the new Hulkbuster, but that torso looks like it could use some modding. The Arc Reactor has to be right between the pecs, not below it - right now it looks more like a belly button.

I have bad news for you...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Wow... I'm impressed by these sets. For the most part they're very well designed and reasonably priced... But they do have some flaws.

While I love the diorama styling of the Spidey Vs Sandman and Hulkbuster sets, those title plates are a little bland and basic, especially when they appear to be stickers. And as for the Daily Bugle Set, love the fig selection, but the actual build looks like something thrown together from spare parts and its only slightly better then the 76324 Oscorp build.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It’s kind of wild that this is the first time we’ve seen both Hulk and the Hulkbuster in the same set since 76031 ten years ago

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I welcome the return to smaller-scaled sets. That Daily Bugle reminds me of 76005, which I still have on display - but let's be honest, I mostly bought that for the minifigures. Still, the building grew on me.

Interesting new flame-pieces for Ghost Rider. That's a good-looking minifigure, or at least, a well-rendered minifigure. Let's wait for the reviews.

I don't want Venomised -anything-. I wouldn't even be happy with Venomised Blacktron, Venomised trans-neon green, or Venomised Batroc the Leaper. I can just about tolerate Venomised Venom, and that's about it.

It's almost nostalgic to see another Hulkbuster. It feels like a reminder of simpler, more innocent times. That said, I'm impressed by this Hulkbuster's ample cleavage, it seems like Tony is really branching out here. Hulk does not seem to agree, or at least, Hulk is not yet at peace with what this is awakening in him. You'll get there, Hulk.

So, no.

By in Netherlands,

Ah, now the Spider-man city series feel complete. I guess Triple J managed to alienate everyone and is now running the Bugle by himself.

The Iron Man Mark 3 looks great!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Good value? Well it turns out it depends which prices you look at, and which currency you’re paying in.

I looked at the Epic Battle Sandman 76334 and thought that looked a great deal in my currency at £20 ($25, 25€). It’s a cool looking display piece and I like how they’ve done the Sandman.

But if we use that as a template for the Bugle 76342, in USD terms they’re paying 4x as much for it. But in the UK we’re paying 5x as much, and the Eurozone are paying 4.4x as much, at $99.99 £99.99 and 109.99€ respectively.

I can’t see Americans thinking $125 a good price for the set, which is the other way of adjusting the values, or $130, which is roughly what £100 in currency is worth (of course, our 100 is tax inclusive).

Those currency conversions are all over the place. Most of the time, the USD and Euro are the same value, except when they’re not!

Alternatively, the UK are getting 76334 a bit cheaper than it would be as they feel £25 is too high and £22.50 would be a strange price point.

Not a Super Heroes collector but I love the US Mail stickers on the mailbox in the Daily Bugle set, and the technique used to attach the fingers on the large Iron Man sculpture.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really good looking prices … I may be tempted to get the new Daily Bugle. Great to see Raimi’s series get more love - 3 was my least favorite, but this is a really good looking set and $25 is a surprisingly reasonable price!
I’m really happy to see the Ghost Rider set - not for me, but great for the kids. Two major characters plus a fun-looking stud-shooting motorcycle for $10. Would love to see more at this price-point!

Will definitely be getting that Daily Bugle set! But I’ll probably wait for some discount.

I wish the pieces used for the mech were reallocated for the building instead. And the selection of minifigs leaves much to be desired. I mean… do we always have to get the Spidey trio in larger sets? I’d rather they introduced a new villain or an employee of the Daily Bugle; also… photographer Peter Parker! That would’ve been nice.

It would be a shame if the newspaper tiles were stickered rather than printed. I’ve been trying to take a good look at them and they all look like stickered pieces. :( They can simply reuse the existing Bugle prints.

I was going to say "Superman," but I remembered hearing about some Hollywood type (who obviously wasn't very familiar with comics) proposing a new spin on Superman where his suit also had powers, in a way that ended up making the suit very similar to Venom, lust less murdery.

Well, how many kids would who don't already have any Spider-characters would want it if it didn't have any? Lego can't just cater to existing fans with large collections. Besides, it lets those who do make their own version of the Clone Saga!

Definitely. It scales well with 76324 : Spider-Man vs. Oscorp, 76317 : Peter Parker's Apartment, 76311 : Miles Morales vs. the Spot, 76279 : Spider-Man Race Car & Venom Green Goblin, 76275 : Motorcycle Chase: Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock, and 76244 : Miles Morales vs. Morbius.

If anything is off, you can easily adjust floors, with these simple layout/builds.

EDIT: Oh and 76310 : Iron Man Car & Black Panther vs. Red Hulk and 11198 : Spin and Electro Dinosaur Vehicle Chase, 76287 : Iron Man with Bike and The Hulk, 10792 : Drill Spinner Vehicle, 30679 : Venom Street Bike, and 76260 : Black Widow & Captain America Motorcycles.

Not so sure about the Daily Bugle set. OTOH, the others certainly are fairly priced, and very good to boot--I actually prefer this little Sandman set to the larger one in 76280 ! Plus, I am glad there's a smaller version of the Daily Bugle to combine with the other buildings issued last year. Great job!

Would a Wolverine/symbiote be able to not be scared of the Red One?

They claim in the first movie that it is rare to find a match so easily, yet the symbiotes just happen to match with all of these characters...hmm..lame

Some of the sets are decent. And I like new Iron Man figures, but I also don't know if I can justify the cost of the official sets either. I'll wait for a sale, or maybe forgo everything. Need to cut back spending anyway and Super Heroes is an easy place since I have so many previous versions of the figures.

They cooked. History with a Lego Spider-Man 3 set and its $25? You gotta be kidding me, its too good to be true. Extremely happy that Ghost Rider is getting a bike set that isn't too big and only $10.

That Daily Bugle is perfect and still appealing despite competing with the $300. Welcome back small scale Daily Bugle, it only took nearly a decade.

Hulkbuster & Hulk...Its played out with how many there are but this is a standout cuz of the movie moment vignette. Finally, a polished movie scenes line and this showing is a lot better than the overpriced battle sets from this year. Absolutely love the flying fist and wonderful new minifigs.
