LEGO Nike Air Max 95 announced!
Posted by CapnRex101,43008 Nike Dunk was launched last year and a second Nike trainer has been announced today, based on the Nike Air Max 95 shoe. The press release follows:
43025 Nike Air Max 95
1,213 pieces, rated 12+
$99.99 / £89.99 / €99.99
Available at LEGO.com from 28th March
The hottest drop of the season has landed. Embrace ’90s fashion and pay homage to a trainer icon with the Nike Air Max 95 x LEGO Set (43025) for ballers aged 12 and over. Based on the original Nike Air Max 95 kicks that were first launched in 1995, this collectable building set lets kids and Nike fans create a classic trainer.
True to the original design, the Nike trainer comes in muted shades of black and light graphite, with bold accents of neon yellow, and the model includes a display stand, bubble logo and minifigure that has a customisable head and wears Nike clothing and Air Max 95 trainers.
For added fun, there’s a hidden drawer in the base of the model that can be opened by twisting the trainer. Once completed, it becomes cool Nike decor and is sure to thrill kids when given as a sports gift on birthdays and special occasions.
I think this is the best of the LEGO trainers released to date and the bubble text is interesting, but what do you think? Let us know in the comments.

Air Max 95s are one of my least favourite sneakers of all time and I can't believe they're the most popular sneaker among British teenagers at the moment, considering their chunky grey silhouette is the polar opposite of what is on trend in fashion circles.
Nonetheless, this is one of the more well-executed sneaker sets Lego has done. I like the AIR build and the minifigure is well done too.
Lego typography kinda goes crazy …
The “AIR” looks exceptional
Cool build, cool parts and colors, not something I'm interested in until someone turns it into a spaceship.
LEGO is really expanding their themes from new airplanes to movies and what not, and guess all have their audience, but who's buying a LEGO model of a shoe...????
That AIR-bubble looks kinda nice!
But overall not for me....
Who knew a few concrete blocks & a couple of planks would make a suitable Lego build table?
Not something I want as is, but the value is such that with a bit of a discount I may well get one just for the parts.

They’ve been doing this for a few years

Lol! And look at how high the floor is... I’m having trouble understanding the depth in this image.
So that is a new type of grey? Not that would be welcome.
I couldn't be less excited for a Lego set. The last time I cared about a pair of sneakers was probably when I was around 10 and I have 0 nostalgia for them. I have fond memories of movies or books or TV shows... but shoes?
Did the press release really say “for ballers aged 12 and over.” ?
No sale unless Werner Herzog attempts to eat it.
I think that sets actually looks quite good for what it is.
I especially like the bubbly "AIR" and I wonder what made Lego consider molding all these parts in pearl-white-something but can't be arsed to offer ball hinges in other colors than gray so the sets don't look like shit. Or not offering black pins ffs.
I wouldn't be caught dead in these sneakers irl, they're ugly as sin and transport some kind of social setting which is orthogonal to mine.
Someone recently posted photos of their builds of all of the "Nike Dunk" sets to my work's LEGO Slack channel, so obviously there is a market for these sets.
I do like the transparent air cushion things in the sole, and how puffy the "AIR" logo is.
Not for me, but I think it's far better of a design and shaping (as ugly as the real shoe is) than the last shoe collab LEGO did.
Hmm... Bargain...
DC-3 - £199.99
Pair of trainers - £179.98
I know which will be in my shopping basket!
I've never been a NIKE person, so I never even thought to look at the actual shoe, let alone a LEGO version of said shoe.
But I guess it's good they are adding to it so can have a shoe collection, a lego collection, and a lego shoe collection.
The bubble air sign is really clever.
Does anybody buy these sets?
@merman
Looks like light bley, dark bley, and titanium pearl dark gray or whatever it is called. So not new I wouldn't think, but new pieces in that color maybe.
Oh sure, make this weird set a great deal….
Big year for shoes.

Well the press release speaks of ‘light graphite’
Not my theme of choice but this set looks exceptional. Some great parts too—wedges in titanium metallic (rare to see for building elements rather than accessories) and those very cool opalescent curved slopes for the logo.

LEGO "My Best Fiend" set with Klaus Kinski and Herzog minifigures.

Well, 5200 members bought 10282 and some people even have carefully lit wall displays of trainers, so I guess yes!

It looks like the shoe is farting.
Can't understand the point of having a lego sneaker...
Day One cop for me. Have all the Nike / Lego collabs in my collection and this one is more personal; graduated high school in '95 and this was THE sneaker for my class. I never bought a pair though, and they've been released regularly by Nike since- in every coloryway- and become one of their most popular sneaker. And as others have said- the 'AIR' looks dope AF.
For a moment I thought this was the Yu-Gi-Oh set. Jonouchi wore these.
well... at least it has a lot of cool recolors.
but why....
916 want it?
Those are some ugly, ugly shoes
Good building techniques and skills, but seriously... who is asking for this? Why would anyone buy this?
These look nothing like the Nike Air Max I had in '95.....
That bubble logo looks awesome though!
If it makes them money I guess..
Couldn’t be farther from my interests, LEGO should be toys you can play with, not copies of real life things
It's not for me, but I know there are a fair amount of AFOL sneakerheads who will be thrilled with this!
I do think the bubble text is pretty cool, though.
@FlatSixLego said:

There are some themes that I'm pretty sure exist only because Lego was paid to make'em. At least that's my theory here.
And we couldn't get clear elements in 75422 Yoda's Hutt with Smart Play?
If you need to ask “who, what, when, where, why?”, it’s not for you.
And that’s ok.
Each day, we stray further from Khonshu.
From the images I was hoping the sneaker jumped in the air when you opened the tray, maybe next time.
Hmmm. 100 euros for a pair... Half a pair of Nike sneakers I can't wear... No thank you. Pretty well designed nonetheless. Air opalescent logo is quite good too.
not getting this, but it actually looks pretty nice this time. another vote for the air logo is really cool
Fantastic design work but once again, I really can't see the point... I suppose it does have its audience if they keep making them...
But THAT bit really made me laugh to no end:
"is sure to thrill kids when given as a sports gift on birthdays and special occasions."
Are the marketing people truly that disconnected from reality ? I could see it for a very nostalgic adult but what kid would enjoy a statue of a very old shoe he can't wear and definitely can't play sport with ???
@handyandi said:

It is being marketed to the cool kids. The real surprise is that it is not using a couple of planks from an old pallet. Or is brick and pallet furniture no longer the in thing?
Why are lefties (in this case left footed) always treated as second class citizens?
@gunther_schnitzel said:

I guess Lego is leftist?
No Smart Play functions included? Different squeaking sounds dependent on the (colour of the) surface the shoe is on would be something.
No, really.
Looks like a pretty good parts pack once discounted: lots of slopes and wedges as usual, but also several pieces in the new Bluish Violet (on the base), some Titanium Metallic plates (very unusual), and of course those transparent-opalescent slopes for the "AIR" letters. I think they could've trimmed down the base, but if the set was going to be $100 anyways, more parts are better.
Also, I'm gonna feel stupid for asking this, but does anyone know what part those smaller "bubbles" towards the toe of the sneaker are made of? They look like two of https://brickset.com/parts/design-4045 put together and shrunk down to 1x2, but the extra-hollow studs and middle band tell me that this is probably some weird preexisting minifig part. I'm sure I've seen the part before, but now I can't place it. Anyone know?
New grey: good.
printed grills on slopes: good
transclear and trans-opalescent parts: good
minifig: good
model: not for me
(or as someone already mentioned, might consider if someone turns it into a spacecraft without too much other parts)
*barfing noises*
I do like new recolors.
As much as I hate shoe brands that bubble lettering is fire
Not my thing at all, but the design is excellent. Really good looking set for sneaker fans.
I guess I'm done with Lego. Or better yet, Lego is done with me.

I bet they would have a top seller if they made a set with the entire alphabet done in the bubble styling.
Yuk. They used the phrase 'Hottest drop' in the press release.

Looking forward to Jang's review of the table :-)

I’ve used an ironing board in the past. Pretty much the only time I have ever used an ironing board in fact.
I do not care about this set in the slightest, but that little AIR balloon thing is hilarious and may this be enjoyable to those who like this sort of thing.
April 1st is coming up and it's going to be REALLY hard to work out what's real and what's fake
Cool new pieces. I couldn't care less about the shoe though.

Yeah, I would not be at all surprised to find out that this is a loss leader EDIT: or would otherwise be a loss leader without Nike's dollar
I just look at these and think county lines.
Announcing new weird sets for an April 1st release date is like some meta trolling.
@GotMeBrickedUp
"If you need to ask “who, what, when, where, why?”, it’s not for you.

Who is that kid and what is up with his table? When will LEGO start making socks and underwear? Where is @Huw going to display this? Why is it always the right shoe?
Ok set, with a great minifig.

I do like the new grey, it's going to make a lot of Star Wars designers very happy. It does need a name, though - my humble suggestion would be "Vibrant Neon Light Sand Dark Grey". It's snappy, rolls right off the tongue.
Vibrant Less Medium Stone Sand Grey
with Knob
Some things don't need to be built out of Lego. This is one of them. Product piggy-backing marketing hogwash.
And very mundane to boot. IMO.
All the questions about who these sets are for, when the answer is clear - it's for people who don't know what a table is.
Just a matter of time before we get Star Wars boots or hairy Hobbit feet...Have they done Cinderella's Stilettos yet?

Not just one shoe.
Between these Nike sets and the crocs, someone in Billund really likes feet.
Another great minifig, honestly, but I could pass on the actual set.

All will be revealed in my review which I plan to publish tomorrow.
Not my bag, but that is a clever-looking build. The 'AIR' looks incredible too.
Good for the sneaker-heads out there.
Great when on sale as a parts pack!
The minifigure looks amazing.
So yeah, i think this set looks quite nice. The build looks like a fun one, plus the variation in parts is also very good.
I think this sneaker is the best yet, however i don’t really like the base it’s on. It’s too dark and heavy imho. They should have made it in lighter colours so the shoe would stand out more. Especially since the sole is black and the stand as well.
The bubble letters and the minifg are great. They could have given the minifig a swoosh as a smirk to make him/her even more exclusive.
With the amount of good sets at the moment i’ll pass on this one, but i can certainly see people buying this.
I thought the Dunks were a one-off but seeing these, it makes me wonder what shoe will be next? Jordans? Agassi’s? 180’s? Mags? Structures?
Imho, and I have generally no interest in sneakers, this at least looks much more interesting than the Adidas one they did earlier, build- and parts-wise.
At a substantial discount this will be a very good parts pack.
@merman said:

Is it really?
To me it looks like the colors are:
-light grey
-sand blue
-dark grey
-gun metal grey

Darker Grey.
Though the pictures make it look like pearl dark gray to me, just without the pearl. Maybe since pearl dark grays name was changed to Pearl Titanium this would be just Titanium?
The "AIR" is really awesome. Don't care about the shoe but the "AIR" is really well done.
Build bloat…?
Am I the only person who admired the simple elegance that was 10282 ? Just the shoe, a discreet heel stand (such as perhaps a shop window display might have), and the replica shoebox to place it on.
I’m not sure what a display plinth with mechanism, Air bubble logo or minifigure add other than distracting clutter. Maybe that’s just me?
Crap model (actually, crap idea to do sneakers anyway, not the actual implementation), great parts pack. That lettering is gorgeous.
Hard pass for me, not my thing. Like others have said the "AIR" letters like sort of cool. But that isn't anywhere near enough for me to consider getting this set.
Can people stop doing comments like ‘Who would be interested in this set/theme’?
I don’t see the point of buying a Lego fire station or animal.
LEGO does the cool Star Wars logo and now this interesting Air logo… Seams like there’s a whole new line they could focus on on. Hmmm…

I like the AIR letters. It is funny that Lego has made a few shoe models when shoes/sneakers aren't something that really exist in minifig form.

OMG, I bought this back in the 90s and wore it practically everywhere, even when going back to camp for reservist training, yearly IPPT, going to work daily, going out over the weekend etc.
I wore it until it started tearing on the outside, and insoles all gone, but the exposed bubble thing still intact.
why would someone spend this much money on something that literally just looks like an advert for a shoe

Because they have different tastes from you. Why do so many people have trouble wrapping their heads around this idea?

I'm happy with them making both. What's really great is when they make copies of real-life things that can be played with, like 21345, 71374, or 72046.
@benredstar insaid:"April 1st is coming up and it's going to be REALLY hard to work out what's real and what's fake"

There have been some minifigure that had shoes printed on dual-molded legs so they looked like they were wearing (very) high-top sneakers, though.

I never did the main ship, but I did build a mining-scale MOC of the red shuttle craft from the theatrical film, complete with all five crew members and some ruby crabs. One of the crabs is even attached to the rear hatch, because they crush one when they land on that planet. And the control panels include a pair of number tiles, sporting “4” and “2”.
lol, I came here for the bubble letters. BUT, I stayed for the… Bubble Letters!
