London Toy Fair report, part 1

Posted by ,

Today, CapnRex101, DrDave and myself along with Mark from Blocks, and Brickish Ambassador Gary had a guided tour of the LEGO stand at the London Toy Fair, courtesy of Norton & Co, its UK marketing/advertising agency.

The toy fair is a trade-only event and access to the LEGO stand is by invitation only. It's a bit like Fort Knox but with tighter security. Photography is not allowed inside the stand and the ceiling is covered over to prevent photography from the balcony above: it's the only stand at the show that has this.

Once inside, you're escorted around to view each product range. At each one, a product specialist tells you about the sets and is happy for you to take notes and ask questions. When we walked round, some areas were busier than others so details of some themes in the following write-up may be less complete than for others, plus of course you don't get all day in there so can't dilly dally for too long at any one area. We were in there for about an hour and a half, I think.

In this report I will tell you about the non-licenced themes that were on display. Tomorrow CapnRex101 will cover the licenced themes. I'll write what I remember and I suspect that the Capn and Dave will pitch in if I forget anything.

None of the sets had their proper minifigs on display, just plain white ones. Each set just had a card with sketches of them next to it so we obviously can't tell you too much about them, other than their names, as a result.

Notes:

Bionicle

  • 70791 Skull Warrior (£13)
  • 70792 Skull Slicer (£13)
  • 70793 Skull Basher (£13)
  • 70794 Skull Scorpio (£13)
  • 70795 Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder (£25)

As you'd expect from the names they are all bad guys. They looked skeletal and 'dark'. Although they were each a different 'feature colour' there wasn't much of it used. They feature a lot of new panel pieces that are hard to describe but look like torn cloth or something like that. I suspect those on display were prototype parts because they looked to be spray painted a matt dark grey with speckles in it which might not be the final finish. All are the same size as the Toas.

City - Space Port

Four sets will be available.

  • 60077 Space Starter Set (£9) - A small starter set with a lunar buggy and four minifigs, based on a testing facility.
  • 60078 Utility Shuttle (£18) - Looked like a short and stubby space shuttle, with a new (I think) moulded nose piece.
  • 60079 Training Jet Transporter (£40) - A blue and white jet aircraft on a flatbed truck.
  • 60080 Spaceport (£70) - A full-size shuttle on a mobile launch pad complete with medium brown rocket fuel tank which has a new 6-wide cone piece for its nose. Given real space shuttles are retired now it's perhaps surprising that these sets feature them.

These sets are aimed at younger builders, so like last years Arctic sets, they are slightly juniorised.

City - Deep Sea Explorers

These look fantastic and for me were the best minifig sets on display. They are reminiscent of the old Divers theme from 1997.

  • 60090 Deep Sea Scuba Scooter (£4) - A small submersible with one minifig.
  • 60091 Deep Sea Starter Set (£8) - A remote submersible and three minifigs.
  • 60092 Deep Sea Submarine (£25) - A fantastic looking vessel, primarily yellow with dark grey buoyancy tanks.
  • 60093 Deep Sea Helicopter (£40) - A very nice looking dual-rotored aircraft, primarily dark blue. It also comes with a submersible to winch into the sea.
  • 60095 Deep Sea Exploration Vessel (£80) - A chunky looking vessel with a new shaped hull which probably floats and which is probably something like 16-studs wide. The hull is dark blue, the rest white and yellow. It comes with a small sub that's unloaded from the back of it and a shipwreck, which I thought was quite large and I was surprised the set came with so much in it. The wreck itself looked to be a modern vessel rather than something Tudor, for example.

City - Other

The big surprise was 60097 City Square which, at £140, is much larger than older similarly named sets. It features a two-car orange/black tram, LEGO store and delivery van, garage and breakdown truck, a coffee kiosk, a tram stop and 14 minifigs. The buildings are open at the back and not very deep, 8-studs I suspect.

60098 Heavy Haul Train was not on display.

Creator

Three new sets:

  • 31037 Adventure Vehicles (£18) - a green and white SUV vehicle. I didn't notice what the alternative models were.
  • 31038 Changing Seasons (£40) - a small square-ish house, much the same size as the new beach hut, with a bit of garden with tree and BBQ. It comes with parts to change the season: different colour leaves for the tree, white slopes for the roof, etc.
  • 31039 Blue Power Jet (£50) - Dark blue and white, about the same size and similar design to the red/white one from a few years ago. It looked to be based on an F-35 or similar.

Elves

In addition to the sets we already know are coming in March, there will be two more in the Summer:

  • 41077 Aira's Pegasus Sleigh (£35) - a sleigh hauled by two white horses with wings. There must have been more to it than that given the price but I can't recall. Comes with figures Azari and Aira.
  • 41078 Skyra's Mysterious Sky Castle (£75) - On a c.16x32 green baseplate, primarily tan but with plenty of purple and light purple/lavender pieces. Has some sort of portal in the front of it, presumably the way back for the human character, Emily, in the story. Comes with Naida, Emily and Sky Lady figures.

Friends

The friends now have a pop star friend called Livi. Five sets revolve around her: a recording studio, dressing room, stage, telescoping tour bus and limo. They are predominantly white, black and magenta in colour rather than pastel.

41101 Grand Hotel (£100) looked pretty good. I didn't get a good look because the area was crowded but what from I remember it was tan with lavender highlights, had a lot of pillars at the front and two bedrooms upstairs.

Legends of Chima

Chima's three year cycle comes to an end this year so the three summer sets will be the last to be released. There are pictures of them here. The bear-mech with big wheels looked absolutely ridiculous. Perhaps it's just as well it's the end, before they go down hill too much.

Mixels

Series 5 and 6 were on display and I have character names for them all which I'll add to the database later. Tribe names were not given on the mock-up packaging unfortunately, so I can't tell you what they are. I can however tell you their colours:

  • Series 5: brown/gold, blue/medium blue, yellow/red.
  • Series 6: purple/lavender, yellow/grey, green and lime green.

They all looked great but the purple/lavender ones stood out for me. The brown and gold ones have a definite Steampunk vibe to them.

Ninjago

There was too much to take in on the Ninjago stand. Three of the sets are dragons and one features two mechs. Master Wu's Dragon is a white brick-built 4-legged beast while the others are dark blue and a very light green that was hard to identify in the lighting. It was a very striking colour scheme, that's for sure.

The 'Airjitzus' are interesting. They consist of a small brick built handle, a rip cord and a flying disc/rotor that flies upwards when the cord is pulled. A minifig is mounted on top inside a new clear canopy piece that screws into place, kind of a bayonet fitting, like a camera lens.

Technic

  • 42040 Fire Plane (£45, 578-pieces) - A white with red seaplane, maybe 30cm wingspan whose single propeller turns as it's pushed along the ground. A lever on top controls the ailerons and elevators. It also comes with trans blue 2x2 round bricks that can be ejected onto a fire below.
  • 42042 Crawler Crane (£110, 1401-pieces) - a very large and impressive motorised crane which, refreshingly, is blue and not yellow. The boom must have been 1m long.
  • 42043 Mercedes Benz Arocs 3245 (£170, 2793-pieces) - A stunning vehicle featuring power functions and pneumatics. The cab is white, the tipper grey. It has a pneumatically controlled red arm with an opening scoop at the end. The arm has a new rack housing at the end of it that solves the problem of it being too thick when brick-built. It comes with a large motor, 4 pneumatic cylinders, a blue pump cylinder and 4 valve controls. There are three types of cylinder which might all be new. On the box they are labelled as 2/11, 1/11 and 1/5. The 2/11 is, presumably, 11 units long and 2 wide, the 1/11 was 1 unit wide and, well, you can guess the other one. The Mercedes logo is printed on a 2x2 boat stud. The alternative model, a flatbed truck, looks as good as the main one. This was easily the 'best in show' as far as I'm concerned.

Ultra Agents

Three new sets will be released in the summer. I must confess that I can't tell you much about them because while the rest of the group were being told about them I was busy recording names and colours of Mixels which I felt to be more important. However, the largest set, 70173 Ocean HQ looked great. It's a sizeable boat, probably 12" or so long. The most impressive thing about it was that it has a brick-built hull. I suspect there are loads of doors and features on it which are typical of Agents sets.

Update: (CapnRex101) - The large ship did indeed have a brick-built hull which was quite nicely shaped, with opening hatches reminiscent of those on the original Agents Mobile Command Centre. Other sets included a small, jet flown by an electricity-themed villain and a base for Antimatter, which was based on an oil platform. The purple and black colour scheme looked great, although I generally felt it was a bit insubstantial given that this is the hideout of the ultimate villain.

Back to Huw:

In summary, the must haves for me were Technic, Deep Sea Explorers and Mixels. I can take or leave the rest.

So there you have it. Chris will cover licensed themes including Jurassic World, Scooby Doo, Super Heroes, Star Wars and more, tomorrow.

Feel free to ask questions, we'll try and answer them if we can.

By in United States,

A theme like the 97 divers theme? There goes what I was wanting to spend to get a couple of the new bionicle sets. Can't wait though , loved that theme (especially the aqua sharks). Hell even if it's the dolphin branded divers , I'm still set on getting most or all of them. At least gotta get the smaller ones. Definitely getting the yellow sub , if nothing else from city ever again.
If you can't tell I LOVE deep sea related sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Speaking of Bionicles, where are they? I've heard reports that they were their and they are not a licensed theme so why didn't you report on them? :s

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just added to the top, I forgot about them :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm off to bed now, will answer questions in the morning...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Huw can you tell us as much about 60097 City Square as you can and just for me is the garage octan?

Gravatar
By in United States,

A LEGO store within the City Square? Now that sounds interesting.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Can you do a seperate post tommorow describing the following themes sets more detailed - Mixels, Ninjago, City Deep Sea and Friends - Describing the look and 1 or more play feature if you can!

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

"60098 Heavy Haul Train was not on display."
:-(
Did you get a chance to ask about this set?
I assume there was no track with the tram in 60097?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't get the "let's not show our toys" think LEGO has. They will show everything in three weeks in NYC!

Gravatar
By in Czech Republic,

Thanks for great report, I have one question.Which kind of motor does technic crawler have? Thanks for reply.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Isn't anyone else upset that otters get better detailed reviews ;) Sorry couldn't help that one.

The Space Port stuff definitely has my attention.

Have to agree with The Green Brick Giant, I too don't get the being secretive about showing sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Bionicle sounds very interesting, quick question about one, skull scorpio. Does this have any kind of function? Like a scorpion stinger or something?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

You say 3 of the Ninjago sets featured dragons. While two I know are very obvious from the names, which is the third set that had a dragon in it?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I wonder how the details for the otters are :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Do you think you can match up Mixel colors with the names, so we can at least know what the tribes consist of?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow... a good chunk of that sounds awesome to me.... the worrisome thing is that everything is really expensive!!

Space Port sounds even worse than 2011's theme, and the only decent one in that line was an overpriced van. DIVERS... that was not entirely unexpected after Arctic last year, but I really want that $25 submarine!! Creator, blah... Technic, I don't really care... Bionicle and Ninjago, I will reserve judgment upon until we get pictures. Friends... pop stars, seriously? Chima is sputtering out, I saw that coming...

And the Brick Fanatics article says there are 3 Ultra Agents sets, which may be the most exciting unlicensed thing this summer. The other two are a $20 "AntiMatter Showdown" and some other thing that was $50.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ Virani.
Don't look at me. :P

Gravatar
By in Croatia,

Can you describe Ninjago Ronin rex set? Are there any other ninjago minifigures other than ghost warriors and how do they look like?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@SMC - The City Square buildings might be likened to the bank in 2001's Bank & Money Transfer. They looked fairly detailed from the front but did not have a huge amount inside. There were some new LEGO box stickers though which I know are always popular for MOCs. I did not spot any Octan branding on the garage, which was predominantly blue. Perhaps Octan have a rival to worry about!

@anacondraicultist2003 - The largest Summer Ninjago set was a new version of the Destiny's Bounty, and like that set it could convert to a flying vehicle by pulling a handle out from beneath. It was bigger and had an entire cabin at the back which was pretty well furnished. I didn't pay much attention to the others to be honest as they were much like what we have seen before.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So far I am interested in: 60095 Deep Sea Exploration Vessel from the unlicensed sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So we get pictures at the Nuremberg TF next week, eh? Looking forward to it.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

What is the Color Scheme of the Ghost Dragon? Is Wu bad again? I just have a small feeling.. Remember how the set is now Ghost Dragon but before it was "Master Wu Dragon? Mabye.....

Gravatar
By in United States,

How come I can't enlarge the photo in the article?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I heard that the new enemies are ghosts....could you describe their appearance? Also i'm wondering if there are any more Anacondrai minfigures....

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm disappointed in the initial description of the Spaceport sets, but I'll wait until I see pics for final judgment.

But I am excited by all the dark blue. It's one of my favorite colors.

Gravatar
By in United States,

"The boom must have been 1m long." -- you have my attention now -- and probably my $.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So we have three possibly four large ships coming out this year? The Brick Bounty, the Diving Ship, the Aqents Ship and possibly a new Ninjago Destiny's Bounty (if rumors are to be believed?) damit! I need more shelf space!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really don't get all the secrecy. Every toy company has to worry about competitors trying to steal their ideas or beat them to the punch, but that doesn't stop them from showing their new products at toy fairs. Fairs are a great way to get everyone excited for a company's upcoming products. It's a real shame LEGO deprives its fans of that.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Modok, BludChylde1 and The Green Brick Giant It is not so much secrecy that Lego and other manufactures are after but that the items being shown may still be in development and not have final packaging, contents or mini-figs finalized. So if pictures go out of the products and then the final product is different there can be some fan disappointment.
Also Lego learned a huge lesson about this a few years back when the first wave of Indiana Jones sets were shown at a show. The preliminary images on the Flying Wing had a s-wastika in the background. And of course nobody paid attention to the fact that the box and everything was marked preliminary images. So Lego had to go out on an apology tour.

Gravatar
By in United States,

No hobbit/lotr? I should like to see them come back another year

Gravatar
By in United States,

Question: did they have the Ferris wheel on display?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Question about the Space things- does it appear that the shuttle and rocket are connectable? The biggest letdown of the recent line of City Space stuff was that the Shuttle and Launchpad had no overlap...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I need to get a good artist/builder to draw something to satisfy my curiosity...

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Sounds like you had a busy day (with the computer club extra as well) , thanks for the article. Look forward at seeing the new mixels and space port!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Thank you Brickset staff for providing us with such detailed coverage of the sets (given that final minifigs are hardly present) :D

I felt that the Brick fanatics coverage on these themes was rather minimal, especially Ninjago :(

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Could you have painted or drawn the sets? Those are not photos!
I know it is a little slower, still it would be something. :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ Like they do in court? :) I guess if you had all day and could actually draw then yes!

@TheOneVeyronian, 70738 FInal Flight of Destiny's Bounty came with two small dragons whose wings are made from the same 'flame' piece as the Chima phoenix. Like the larger dragon, they too are dark blue and light green (possibly http://brickset.com/parts/colour-Spr-Yell-Gree) which under the bright lighting on the stand, looked almost fluorescent and very striking. The ship itself is larger than the last one and has a retracting handle underneath to enable swooshing. It also has wings/sails that extend from the sides.

The ghosts were not on display so we can't say what they are like, but most of the larger sets appeared to include one or two. I suspect they too are the light green.

@Starik20X7, the space shuttle looked pretty much like 10213/231 but smaller. Same colour scheme. The mobile launch pad is blue.

@legomylegos1, exclusives are not on display because they are not sold by regular retailers who are the main audience of the show.

@BludChylde1, well sorry about that... To be honest it's a bit overwhelming in there, hot and sometimes crowded so of course we are going to concentrate on the themes that interest us most. That's why I dragged CapnRex101 along to cover the licensed themes, of which is he is a specialist, because I know you'll all want to know everything about them. Expect his post later this morning...

@Exetrius, BFs covereage of Ninjago was sparse, as was mine, because it was overwhelming due to the sheer number of new sets all sprawled out over a table. Plus, it was the last one we came to and by that time we were exhausted.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Why is Cimha going downhill? I'm regretting not collecting some of the early sets now, I miss the animal minifigs, its like Fabuland! :(

Does the 31039 Blue Power Jet come with light bricks like the red one?

So is the Elves line just for a year? Or is it just the plot?

I'm hyped about the crawler crane!
But, i wonder if when you assemble it, it resembles the real thing, raising its boom arm via self assembly and what not! Hope the desginers can incorporate as much physics and engineering as possible! Would be a great demonstration of technic!

Like this: Liebherr - Self assembly system for the LR 1250 crawler crane
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHhrhchtYRk see the part at 0:45-0:55 seconds to see what I mean. If you have time, I recommend watching the whole thing (20mins) Its impressive!

LEGO TAKE MY MONEY!!!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Out of all of that, the Changing Seasons set intrigues me the most.

Gravatar
By in Czech Republic,

Does 60097 come with a Police Station or not? In the Review from Brickfanatics is it mentioned.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Hi, when you saw the Skull Grinder vs. Mask Maker Bionicle set, what did Mask Maker look like? (The gold and blue one). Did he have a gold mask with long pointy bits coming off the top like a crown, or was it a marbled blue and gold version of the mask the Protectors wear in the early 2015 wave of sets? Also, how big was he?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@petrbasler, not that I recall

@ChrisBrickz, sorry can't remember although he was no bigger than the current Toas.

Gravatar
By in France,

Thank you very much for the detailed report!

If I might ask a question, do you know/remember if the new deep sea divers and astronauts of city will get new air bottles? Or the same since 2010 (Design ID: 8754)?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The minifigs weren't present and I don't think the white stand-ins were kitted out with tanks, flippers, helmets etc.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Were there any "functions" present on the bionicle sets? If so, could you be specific?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Nothing noticeable, probably limited to swinging arms etc.

Gravatar
By in Croatia,

Do you have any photos??

Gravatar
By in United States,

Huw, thank you for the Mixels Series 5 names this morning. If it wouldn't be any issue, think you can match up which colors were which groupings of three Mixels in both S5+6?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thanks for the preview Huw!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^^ I can, actually, because I was busy admiring them when others were fiddling about with Agents sets :-)

Series 5:

Gox, Junky, Kamzo: brown/gold
Krug, Chilbno, Snoof: Blue/trans blue,
Spogg, Turg, Tungster: yellow/red

Series 6:

Kram, Forx, Wuzzo: yellow (and probably another shade of yellow or orange)
Dribbal, Gurggal, Slusho: greens
Snax, Berp, Vaka-Waka: purple/lavender

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@legodude " "Admittedly I face palmed hard at this part:
"I was busy recording names and colours of Mixels which I felt to be more important" "

I assumed this comment was tongue in cheek to explain the lack of Ultra Agent details.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So, to those who were there, can you tell us about Skull Scorpio? Specifically, what did that set look like? A scorpion-shaped figure, or just a humanoid figure with a scorpion tail?

The new Elves, BIONICLE, and Ninjago sets definitely have me excited!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I believe all of them were humanoid, and as you might expect given the use of the CCBS, all looked much the same as each other, and the Toas, save for different heads/masks, weapons and these new panels that look like torn cloths or something.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Can you provide any more details on the new Ninjago mechs? I'm a total sucker for those!

Gravatar
By in Peru,

Hi,
Did you see something about lego DC?. Maybe new minifigs, jockerland ..

Gravatar
By in United States,

My son is itching for the new City sets. Any idea when they come out? (I know it will be a while since the Swamp sets just came out. Hopefully he has plenty of time to save up!)

Gravatar
By in United States,

@yuffie A lot of people, like me, have been HUGE fans of Mixels ever since its launched last year, and it has actually gained quite a bit of following. I get that Ultra Agents is somewhat popular, but Huw is just trying to share the information he thinks more people will get excited about.

Huw, can you be specific about any of the themes/elements of these Mixels (besides steampunk)?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Did any of the Ninjago Mechs look like an updated version of Nya's Samurai X Mech? I'm wondering when will Nya be in the spotlight again.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Question about Bionicle:

Which Mask-Maker is this? In the BIONICLE "cartoon" videos on the LEGO website, the two Mask-Makers were killed in a deadly blast. Some of the Villagers actually found one of the lifeless bodies in the next video. Is this a new Mask-Maker or what? Because BOTH Mask-Makers were killed. You may be able to see the colors of the M-Makers in the videos. This set has me a bit confused. :-|

Question about Mixels:

What were the tribes called? The "blue/medium blue" ones sound like the Frosticons and the "green/lime green" ones sound like the Glorp Corp - the names do, too - Gurggal (Glorp-Corp) and Chilbno (Frosticons).

Question about City:

Did the Space Port sets look like the old ones - not in color, but do they look a bit like the 2011 "Space Exploration" sets?

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Thanks for the report!

What kind of animals were included in the City Deep Sea Explorers?

Any new animal moulds to look forward to :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oooh, new dragons. Me likey. :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Roebuck - Just an octopus and a swordfish with a new head mould, much like the shark which underwent some changes a year or two ago.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Hu Huw & CapnRex101. Can you give us any more details about the Ninjago Mech Battle Set? Minifigures, size/colour of mechs, weapons, gimmicks, general appearance, etc.?

Also, can you tell us if the Ultra Agents sets included secondary builds for the "other side" i.e. agents in Ultrasonic set and Anti-Matter set and Villans in HQ sets. If so, can you recall what they were?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for doing this guys and have a great day!

Gravatar
By in Croatia,

Thanks very much!

Can you give us more details about Mech Battle and Ronin REX for Ninjago? Were there any new ninja colors, and what villains look like? Also are there more snake figures?

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Thank you for answering :)

I guess it is the same fish as in the new pirates ship, the sawfish you mean?

But only two animals divided on all those sets :O Hope that is a preliminary issue of some sort :S
The good old "divers" had up to six animals in a set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@NBJ2002 the first cartoon states that the Mask Makers were sent into an endless sleep, not killed. The included character would appear to be Ekimu based on the descriptions that have come in from different places.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Brickset sucks when it comes to giving descriptions and details about the summer 2015 Bionicle sets!

Gravatar
By in Czech Republic,

Dear Huw are there dual wheels on last two axles of arocs truck? Thanks for info.

Gravatar
By in Italy,

I have a question, the new swordfish is a real NEW or is simply a remaped with eys like the new one sharks into pirate 2015? I hope we have one like the old Agents sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Thanks for the details! I can already hear my wallet crying out :P :P

Say, do you recall if the 2 Robins were the same? Was one of them Red Robin?

Thanks!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Ok, why are there only 3 Chima sets to finish off such an impressive Theme? Are we sure that's all we're getting?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Any news on series 14?

Gravatar
By in United States,

A picture of the deep sea exploration vessel is actually visible in the latest mini movie on LEGO.com in the city area.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

A Link? Name? Auctal Pic?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I menat video name? Which Mini Movie?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Huw- I found a freeze frame of that boat on Google Images. Could you tell us if it is the same as the one at the fair and thus confirm what the set looks like or would that break confidentiality?

(Fingers crossed you say yes because the boat in the video is a beauty)

Gravatar
By in United States,

NINJAGO KILLED CHIMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have done some trawling of the Internet and think I've found some images of 42043 Mercedes Benz Acros 3245. At least I hope these are it as it looks incredible!!! Here is a link, the pics are only small thumbnails and the website looks either Chinese or Japanese.

http://www.lelezhen.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=39110

Huw, are these pics of the set??

Gravatar
By in United States,

That is a reproduction of what someone saw on a preliminary image, not the actual model. However, it seems to be close in size and close to the descriptions I have read.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Was the Speed Champions Ferrari F40 at the fair?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@kknaut Thanks for the info, I just hope the actual model is as good as that reproduction!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It's a good approximation...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@SamTheLegoBlawk
What's that supposed to mean? Ninjago was around way before Chima. Did you expect LEGO to end Ninjago (One of their most successful lines) at the same time as Chima for no reason? You don't even know what you're talking about.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Pereki: In EPISODE 1, it said that the villagers found the lifeless body...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Ekimu vs Skull Grinder might be confirmed

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Huw can you tell us anything about the city advent calendar?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Cheers for the updates, have started reading this site more and more often and am now very interested in the Mercedes truck. Is it in the same scale as the Unimog or the Scania truck?

By in United Kingdom,

Can anybody who went to Toy Fair and saw the Bionicle sets try and confirm the secondary colour of Skull Grinder? I have been hearing that he is trans-red, which would be a new colour to Constraction, but it's possible he may have been trans-neon orange. Can anybody confirm his actual colour yet?

Huw is terrible at describing things. Brickset needs to choose someone else to describe the summer 2015 Bionicle sets.

The new city subthemes sound great. I'm wondering whether the new lunar buggy is going to look anything like the L.E.R.V. from LEGO City Undercover? That would be very nice. But the diving subtheme. This sounds very, very good. I don't think we've had a good /realistic/ diving theme since '97. So this sounds great.
