By in Netherlands,

The Mercedes Arocs is pretty cool, but isn't it just a different version of the Unimog?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

You could say the same about almost every set: it's another version of X

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Wow - I'm looking forward to the two foundation Technic sets this year. Not a yellow civil engineering machine in sight. New pneumatics. I am hoping to convince work to use these sets as "teaching aids." Thanks for the reveal photos.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Excellent! Keep it coming guys!

Still I am wondering why all that confidentiality in London then.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Technic and the Architecture sets are must-have's for me.
Better start saving!

Not into City at all, but that Town square looks like an ideal start point to start building a town from.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@richselby. I know, but it's just a feeling. But maybe I change my mind when I see the model on my table! I also bought the Unimog which was really fun to build. This one will be even better I guess.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@HoMa, thanks, it looks great, doesn't it.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

the research vessel looks awful, way to broad given its length which is likely due to its ability to take an oversized ROV on board. Will have to build my own one!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Compared to the descriptions the City Square looks disappointing. The Lego Store looks more the size of a Lego cupboard. The tram looks quite cool but that's about it.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Well, I'm not really into Friends, but I like the tourbus, could be used for the CMF-rockband.
Is that a new type of mudguard on the City Square car-ambulance?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Yeah, the Town Square is a bit underwhelming (and gosh, it looks exactly the same as the last one. I heard a review once that the coupling-mechanism/wheels on that older tram made it wobbly and rickety, and it looks like they haven't changed it). The new divers range isn't too exciting, but I like the undersea shipwreck. That's cool.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Love the detailing on the cab of the Actros. And that crane - wow - nearly forgiven myself for practically giving away my 2006 #8288 Crawler Crane. Wasn't fussed about H1 sets, but these are going to be must haves I reckon.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Yuffie, yes it did sound better than it actually is! There's a lot to it, but most of the sub-models are underwhelming.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is that a new piece in the arches on the Friends Grand Hotel set?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

OMG! LONG Pneumatic cylinders. This summer I won't leave the house. Best Technic year ever!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Take a look at the new half round piece over the windows of the Grand Hotel!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Arggh! I can't keep up with the large Technic sets. At the moment it's Volvo, Le Mans or Merc Truck. One's got to go, my Technic budget is not big enough. ...and the longer I look at that crawler crane...

^^^LuvKernow, In the top and bottom floor windows, looks like it could be. A nice one too.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm not big on Technic sets, but I have built and very much enjoyed the #8043 Excavator and #8258 Crane Truck. The new Merc truck looks a bit too similar on build to #8258 for me personally to buy (well maybe I might on special offer) though the motors and functions certainly look to move a lot sweeter than when I built my 8258

The crane does look great though. Really nice to to see something not built in construction site yellow. What with this, the 24 hour racer and the Volvo, Technic has really grabbed my attention lately where it previously hasn't at all really.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Do we have any idea on release dates for the Flatiron and the Louvre Architecture sets?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Deep Sea Exploration is a must have for me

Gravatar
By in United States,

Was hoping for something different from the Deep Sea Exploration vessel, a bigger wrecked ship (like a cargo liner to use it to transport a T-Rex like in The Lost World). Oh well, TO THE MOC TABLE!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Friends hotel and tour bus look great. The stage from the last post of pictures was nice, but we already have so many stages in Heartlake City. Yes, this new stage is superior to all of the others, but it comes off as underwhelming. The drums and keyboard have already been done, and there's very little difference between the old and the new. As a huge Friends supporter, it kills me to say that the cape "skirt" fabric piece is a bit ridulous looking.

With all of the positive buzz Town Square got pre-pictures, I'm glad it didn't live up to other people's expectations. The tram is great, but the rest of it looks pretty boring. I'm glad City is getting some buildings and hope to see it continue.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Thanks for sharing the images!

#42043 is now officialy added to my "MUST TO HAVE" list. ;-)

Gravatar
By in Norway,

As far as I can figure out the Mercedes is the first Technic truck in this size with full suspension. That's cool!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Really liking the technic Crawler crane and the truck.......biggest problem for me is how do i buy them without the wife knowing!!!!!!!!!

Gravatar
By in Indonesia,

Mercedes looking really cool with interesting new features/parts such ass new extendable pneumatics arm and an all new suspension. I see 1 shock breaker for every wheel on the left-hand side and rear wheels seem to be attached to some kind of bogy or sub-frame construction. I wouldn't be surprised if both rear axles are powered. Position of the riggers is slightly weird compared to these trucks in real-life. Definitely a must-have for me!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

The whole idea of secrecy last week and photo's now is taken from the car industry. If you leak you're stuff one piece at the time you get a lot more press than just giving everything away at once.

Gravatar
By in United States,

No images of Bionicle yet? Other sites have them. :P

Gravatar
By in Italy,

Please post More and More Photo for all set Pirates!
Many Thanks in Advance

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Still no photo's from 71016 Simpsons Kwik E-Mart... Has anyone seen them already?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

No SW yet?...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@SprinkleOtter, let us know where then as long as they are not watermarked.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@yuffie: regarding the city square, I think this is a situation, unfortunately, where I'll need to buy 2 sets to make a decent sized build. I've done this for the Friends beach house and juice bar. I've also done this for the Lone Ranger train.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like the city square has a news helicopter. I have been waiting for news themed city sets. I hope this means we get a news van in the future.

Gravatar
By in Russian Federation,

Actually i am really disappointed with "Deep Sea Explorers theme". I mean "helicopter"? Really? Do we need a helicopter in this theme? Ship in "Deep Sea Exploration Vessel" looks very good, but everything underwater is just meh... no competitor to "Divers" sets at all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Hotel looks like it could almost fit with the modulars...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Does anyone know (or have a guess) if the play mat comes with the Town Square set? I could see my kids having a lot of fun with that set, especially if it includes that detailed play mat pictured!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Here's a larger version of that Minecraft picture: http://i.imgur.com/DIja1Fx.jpg

If you look closely at the igloo set, you can see the snow golem has those shooty guns in brown for arms to let it throw snowballs!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Well, I don't have the technic 8258, so I'm stoked on the Arcos!

Gravatar
By in United States,

That Heartlake Hotel looks awesome. I think I could replace the purple with dark blue and it would fit right in with my modular town/ Gotham City.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Has anyone seen any pics of the Star Wars or Jurassic World sets?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like the minecraft sets, especially the snow one.
The Grand Hotel looks potentially nice.

I really am finding I just hate the pop star sub-theme, especially after the amazing jungle sub-theme.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I had a terrible dream last night that the Helicarrier photo was released and the entire thing was made out of grey and clear transparent 2x2 bricks. It made my head hurt. WHEN CAN WE SEE IT FOR REALZ?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@JoshuaMauk Same thing goes for me... but with the Kwik-E-Mart!!!! I check Brickset every 10 minutes (it feels like this) for checking the news! I WANT TO SEE IT!!!!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@LuvKernow: looks like it, same wheelarches as on some of the new racers sets. Bigger tyres too, finally, than the cars.

I love that Actross, just as well that the city square is, ah, quite underwelming, all euros on the Actross.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I guess the City Square set will always be the 'Jack of all trades' set, with a little bit of everything, but none of them all that great. I do like the tram, I don't have one yet, but another helicopter, even if it is a different theme..arghh..I'm not interested in that part of it..

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

The Arocs will definitely be pricey but I don't think I can wait much longer unless another set of last year will be much cheaper. I think this is the first year Lego has released more than 1 set I'm willing to buy. :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Apparently the Scooby Doo and Star Wars sets were on display, but no photography was allowed. They are releasing a line of 6 Star Wars construction figures similar to the super heroes ones. It would be nice to see the finalized Star Wars pics. Looking forward to seeing the new figs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Love the larger Technic sets, but I'm guessing they will be EXPENSIVE!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Scarilian Thanks for sharing your link and photo aggregator.

As always, thanks Huw for your coverage.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

No TBBT or Kwik-E-Mart pics?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@LuvKernow Heard nothing about them yet :(

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@Bycougars Do you mean the large CCBS figures??

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Is it just me or does the Merc have relatively small wheels?

And what's up with the asymmetric lowest louvre of the front grill?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Will be there tomorrow and hope the 600km way to nuremburg will go fast... Its shit weather here in Germany ^^
Hope to get some great views of upcoming sets :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

The coloration of the M-B Arocs is bland, bland, bland. Either the cab or the bed should be a color, any color. But grey and white? Lame. The crawler crane, on the other hand, looks amazing. Can't wait!

Gravatar
By in United States,

There will be more pictures right?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Louvre is asymmetric because it's the building on the right side of the Pyramid. I guess to keep the scale and distance to fountains/pyramid close to original. They did cut off one of the fountains though, bit of a shame! I'd have liked it bigger...
See aerial view here: http://dgasa.dn.ua/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/paris_from_above_023.jpg

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@JCCamp: I was actually talking about the front grillE of the Mercedes truck. Funny how quickly miscommunication happens, haha! Thanks anyway, you did make me take a closer look at The Louvre.

PS The grille is probably just not fully assembled...

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@Thunderburt: We should have stuck to Dutch ;)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@Thunderburt: you're talking about this part of the grill, right: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/povratnik/9999-Box/42043-Arocs/42043_arocs_4.jpg? Looks like the builder had a slight accident: pretty sure it's supposed to be straight.

@JCCamp: even though Thunderburt was talking about a whole different kind of louvre, and not about THE Louvre, I have to agree with you that the model of the Louvre is in fact specifically the right wing, and not the front. I wouldn't have spotted that myself for the longest time, probably, if you hadn't mentioned it!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but in the 60097 City Square pictures... It has a classic space guy in the LEGO branded store! Looks like a Green 1989 FUTURON style FIG... Any thoughts?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I haven't bought a Technic set in years, but it looks like I'll be buying two this year for sure!

Gravatar
By in Norway,

@ Bvermerris11 - nice observation... There might be a classic first line castle minifig as well! This is a good move from Lego. Now I am quite motivated to get this set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ChicoCheco I looked right past that! I'm thinking this set is better then people want to say... Great starting point for a city

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am confused as to why there are not more pictures being released. Am I missing something?

Gravatar
By in United States,

There are pictures of the Bionicle villains at the very end of Scarilian's gallery... wow, the Slicer and Scorpio are IMMENSELY bad. Skull Warrior isn't much better, but the other two are OK.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Is it me or does the middle part of the tram from the city square set look like the motor mounts from the old monorail sets from the late 80's. Could this be a possibility? It would be an instant purchase if so.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I am not sure how much we are allowed to say but the two big Technic Sets are great value for money. And I mean GREAT!!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Are pictures of the licensed themes still not allowed?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Nope. No pictures of Scoobie Doo, Star Wars, Jurassic World etc. allowed. Maybe people will do it during the weekend but I wouldn't risk it. Also I think it's a matter of respect. They will show everyone when they think it's right. :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

LEGO is crazy.

Week one. No pictures allowed.
Next week. Pictures are fine of non-license sets.
Two more weeks. PLEASE TAKE AS MANY PICTURES AS POSSIBLE!!!!

Gravatar
By in Philippines,

time to save up again this year!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I have mixed feelings about 60097 City Square. The tram/tram stop and Lego shop/delivery truck are excellent, the little coffee kiosk, tow truck and pizza delivery scooter are alright but the garage, vehicles and helicopter are disappointing. The helicopter looks too similar to the ones in 60004 Fire Station and 60047 Police Station. It would be so much better if there was a slightly bigger helicopter that could take passengers and just one vehicle in the garage instead of three, or a bigger, better and more garage-like garage/service station with just one vehicle and no helicopter. This set is far from perfect but I'll probably buy it just for the tram/tram stop and Lego shop/delivery truck and hopefully make something more interesting from the remaining parts!
