Egmont Publishing launches LEGO Star Wars comic
Posted by Huw,Here's a press release about the forthcoming Star Wars comic we first reported on last month:
London, Wednesday 22nd July 2015 - Egmont Publishing, the leading specialist children’s publisher, announces the launch of LEGO Star Wars magazine.
From the award winning Toxic magazine team, Egmont Publishing presents the first issue of LEGO Star Wars magazine, priced at £3.75.
The LEGO Star Wars magazine combines two of the most popular children’s brands of all time, LEGO and Star Wars, we are confident this will be a winner with fans across the board. The magazine brings these two iconic brands together in an irreverent, humorous and fun way that will be a sure fire hit with kids in this age range.
Every issue comes with an exclusive LEGO toy that fans will love collecting. The first issue has a free LEGO X-wing starfighter! Also, this is the only place to find the hilarious new LEGO Star Wars comics – in the first see how Darth Vader deals with a galaxy made of LEGO! In the second panel story, the crew of Star Wars Rebels get in a sticky situation with the Empire! There are hundreds of pounds of LEGO Star Wars sets to win in an awesome competition. Plus, the magazine is packed with cool puzzles, awesome posters and further brilliant wins!
Laura Adnitt, Publishing Director, Magazines said “We are very excited to be extending our relationship with Disney to also include the iconic LEGO Star Wars brand.” The launch issue of LEGO Star Wars magazine will be on sale on Wednesday 29th July, priced at £3.75 aimed at kids aged 6 – 11 years.

Hope to see some minifigures in upcoming issues
In terms of the contest, are we talking hundreds of pounds (lbs.) or hundreds of pounds (£)? (I know, bad pun). Either way, it sounds like fun!
Do you think there is any chance at all of this showing up on the American side of the pond?
Wow, look at that super original X-wing Starfighter design!
Branching off topic of this article, anyone have an idea when news on new sets might start rolling in?
Does that X Wing have a unique set number?
Anyone in the US that wants this please PM me.
Well, I've already got two of those X-Wings...but it'd be nice if the US had a Lego magazine that had a freebie build every issue.
Looks like it's going to be one of those cool-but-super-cluttered-and-not-fun-to-read magazines. *sigh*
Never heard of Egmont Publishing. Is this magazine for the UK only?
The German language version is published by Blue Ocean. Launched 1st July and costs EUR3.50 at newsstands.
The X-wing design seems to be the same like in Star Wars Advent Calendar from 2011.
I hope this will be also in Poland, all othersmagazines were issued. For now there is no sign of it.
Looks great! As a real star wars completist, I hope the magazine will be published in Belgium too. Otherwise would there be someone interested in buying one en sending it to Belgium? :-)
I like the polybag foil packaging. Looks as if the build instructions are printed on the magazine front cover. Be great if they follow up with mini-figs.
In Spain is avalible 1 month ago. The 2 will be release on august 3rd, with Jango Fett micro Slave 1 as gift. It seems that the most iconic ships from previous advent calendars will be included with the future magazines. Some minifig would be great, of course...
Just picked one up in Bunnik (near Utrecht) in a small bookstore, so i guess its rather common...
There will be no minifigs in further issues....definetly not....said spokesman of blue ocean publisher in germany....only models we all found in advent calendar...so this information might help for abonemment questions...
