Have you entered our Christmas building competition yet?

Posted by ,

Our Christmas building competition is well underway and I'm pleased to see that there are some fantastic entries already, like these birds by James Francis.

You can find out more about the competition, create your own LEGO Advent calendar, in the original announcement. If you need some inspiration, take a look at the competition pool on flickr.

Good luck -- we look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Here's anther model I thought was very cool (and cute!) from a Super Heroes themed calendar by SilverDipper.

I've got all the extra parts I need on order. Super stoked...Makes for a fun contest!

I wasn't going to put any minifigures in, then I realized I had an opportunity that was too good to pass up. So I hope we're not docked for using creative minifigures over creatively designed brick-built creations.

I'm just hoping no one steals my theme.

Liking all the 'classic theme' entries, though that Milano did particularly catch my eye. Whoever the flickr admin is for the group might want to do some cleaning up though, there's a large number of pictures that aren't related to any brickset contest (as is the way with many flickr groups).

Wow you used my picture, thank you very much. Really enjoyed building the birds as its a subject close to my heart. There is some amazing entries so far, keep it up fellow bricksetters !

^^ I saw that. I can't figure out how to remove them so we'll just ignore them.

^If you're the admin, you should just be able to click the x in the corner of each picture.

Can i put a "work in progress" picture on the group and then update it when my pieces arrive? I'd be sad if someone posts my same idea before me :P

I just entered my Space Exploration Advent Calendar, This competition was really taxing to make things small enough to make it work with the Advent Calendar theme! Thanks for the Challenge Huw!!!

^Excellent, I can't believe the quality of the entries. You are all showing a lot of ingenuity.

I built all 6 of mine the day after the competition was announced. 5 x 20 piece models and a 19 piece one. Just waiting for two pieces to arrive in the mail from Bricklink. I hope they arrive today because I just want to get my pics up there and join in the fun. At least the enforced wait has enabled me to refine a couple of my models.

I haven't gotten an Advent Calendar in a few years- does anybody know what the size of the windows are? I doubt I'll need any large pieces, but it will be handy to know the max size I can have.
