Friends Advent Calendar Review: Day 2

Posted by ,

Well, it's Day 2 and already my prediction that ice skating would feature has been fulfilled! Today's model has just 6 parts (plus two spares) and seems to be part of a wall with a ledge on which a pair of ice skates rest. Despite the snowy ground (a 2x2 plate), there is still a cheery red flower growing.

The skates are obviously useful and help with telling a story, but they are prone to just slide off the smooth tile and could easily become lost, so I think more of a container design would be better here.

I give today's model a score of 3. The skates are good but the rest of the model could be improved. I'm always disproportionately happy to get a masonry brick in any colour though, which for me boosts the model up from 2.5.

Not exactly the most exciting build today. Perhaps the skates could have had a few tiles with studs (jumper plates?) to secure them on a wall?
Let's hope it contributes to a bigger scene because as a standalone 'thing' it's pretty pointless.
1.5/5 from me - masonry bricks don't have the same effect on me as they do on LostInTranslation!

Absolutely terrible. This will probably be the last year we buy these for the nieces.

Yesterday Andrea got to play with the remote control car in the City calendar and we were hoping that skates would come today. Woo Hoo! With an extra set of skates for today's city minifig everyone will get to skate. I'm guessing the odd stack of bricks is a bench to sit on while putting on the skates. We'll have to see if they can skate and control the cars at the same time...
