City Advent Calendar Review: Day 2
Posted by CapnRex101,
The first day revealed a pair of remote control cars which were in need of a minifigure to take command. Luckily that minifigure appears today and comes with some rather nice elements such as a blue hood, a pretzel and a camera. Spares of the pretzel and camera are included too which is useful.
Unfortunately, I think the minifigure itself suffers from being a little too plain. The torso does not have any printing and the revised hood element does not stretch over the chest as the older piece did. Nevertheless, the minifigure greatly improves the play value of yesterday's model and will probably be equally welcome over the coming days.
Overall - 3.0 - The minifigure is a little disappointing in my opinion but the inclusion of some nice accessories increases its appeal.

a plain figure indeed but hey you get 3 nice items out of this : a hood piece, a camera and a pretzel :)
Can I make a suggestion? Can you please hide the photos for those that want to click on the article? For those of us in the US that haven't woken up for the day, this is a huge spoiler and has honestly ruined the surprise so far for me.
@rcmadiax - why not just take the advent calendar off your news settings?
I think that the figure could also have been improved by having that hood piece in a new colour, anyone who bought a couple of the City Arctic stuff recently will likely have a load in blue already.
@Shib How do I do that? I don't see the option.

@zmarkella Sweet! Thanks.
I think a plain blue sweater isn't that weird. Nice minifig.
Agree on the review... blah fig but nice accessories.
For the comment above about spoilers in the US market, is there any way to block the image from the Facebook posts? I don't visit the website before opening the day's door, but the FB posts have gotten me the last couple days.
I agree with the spoilers comment and don't much care for zmarkella's suggestion.
I like reading the reviews after I've built the day's model, so I would prefer not to hide these from my newsfeed.
FBTB does reviews of the SW advent calendar by putting an image of the box on the newsfeed and the day's model after the link. I think that works very well for people like me who want to read the reviews later in the day, without spoilers.
My 9 year old was thrilled to get a figure today but refuses to use it with the cars (which she also loved) because, she tells me, it's the wrong figure and the child that the cars go with will appear later on ??
I've just opened Day 3 and here I am reading a review of Day 2 where there's comments about spoilers from people still on Day 1.
Time zones are fun! :-)
I've had to delay my Brickset visits until night time after I've had a chance to open the day's offering, not wanting to know what's coming of course. Tough cuz I go to this site out of habit many times a day usually, but I really have something to look forward to at the end of the day, checking out the review and seeing the other news. Fun!
