A couple of people emailed us to say that they've found the 2009 Pirates sets in the LEGO Imagination Center, Orlando, FL.

If you're nearby, drop by, check them out then let us know what you think of them!

Update 15 Nov: Several people have also reported seeing them in Toys R Us stores across the USA too.

By in United States,

They are available beacuse of a special Master Builder event and the Festival of the Masters at Lake Buena Vista. They are excluseive release to this location only for the moment. Rumor is they will be available at iother locations eventually before Christmas but you can call the store and order them. I just happened to wbe going there forvthec event and stumbled across them. And yes, the cannons do shoot like the old one from years and years ago and the old Pirates stuff is better, new soldiers are nice especially with the hats now touched up with a little paint. I picked up all the sets available.

By in United States,

6239 Cannon Battle $6
6240 Kraken Attackin' $10
6241 Loot Island $20
6242 Soldiers' Fort $50
6243 Brickbeard's Bounty $100
8396 Soldier's Arsenal $3.50
8307 Pirate Survival $3.50

Those are the sets I purchased. I saw a piture of 6253 Shipwreck Hideout posted at Eurobricks, but didn't see it on the shelf, might have overlooked it with all the mayhem going on in the store. Will go back TUE to see if it is there.

All cannons fire.

By in United States,

if any of you have 2009 pirates sets please review or put pics on brickshelf.com

By in United States,

Man those are expensive , i'll get the ones throught $20 and down. I like loot island a lot , iwant it badly. :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think the pirates sets are not for me because of their simple build. The 6-12 age range tells me that the build is simple and/or easy. Anybody who owns any of these sets and who is an advanced buider can help confirm this(or go against my opinion?)
Also, if i remember, shipwreck hideout is limeted edition with 360 pieces so it may be $40 or $50 right?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

You think those are expensive? Try living in the UK where Lego seems to be twice the price of sets in the US! I want all the pirate sets except the ship, as I already have one of the old ships which is way better looking.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Having had the 'old' pirate ship, i have to say it looks near identical to this one, except this one is just spruced up with newer parts. Looking at it, it looks the same level of build to me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Having almost completely missed out on the original pirate line, I'll be eagerly buying these sets when they come out. They all look very nice and remain true to the original theme - they even have the formerly rare shooting cannons!

Water Jedi, even if you feel these sets are simplistic, I think you should at least invest in the smaller ones. There is literally a treasure trove of pirate themed molds and minifigures in these sets - both old and new. The three smallest ones especially look wonderful for army building. ;)

By in United States,

I don't know what to think of them. They definitely look awesome but I think I'm going to save for the star wars and indiana jones sets although the ship looks great! The detail of the cabin in the back and the mermaid is pretty cool.

By in United States,

I hope that all the sets that are set for 2009 come out soon including the middlevil village, when are they set to be out in regular stores, they will be available right?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Let's see... They're already in the US. They should be on Lego LEGO.com within a few weeks, and experience shows that new stuff is usually available on LEGO.com UK before US. So, I think Canadians should see them around December- January.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Commandercody654 that is my brickshelf! I did a review on Eurobricks! Check it out!

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

I hope that these new pirate sets will not be so expensive here in Brazil. But according to the prices in USA, I think that they will be. But I will get at least two sets. They are nice in design and playability (I think), but about the building, I don't know yet.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

For fellow Canadians, I would translate the prices to:

6239 Cannon Battle: $7.99
6240 Kraken Attackin': $12.99
6241 Loot Island: $26.99
6242 Soldiers' Fort: $69.99
6243 Brickbeards Bounty: $119.99
8396 Soldier's Arsenal and 8307 Pirate Survival: $4.99 each

Gravatar
By in United States,

jonbuddy:

Not only are TRU's still supporting Lego, but so is the public! The Lego aisles were so jam-packed today with all sorts of people and kids that it was a bit of a challenge making my way to the 2009 sets. Despite the minor inconvenience, though, I'm glad to see so much new interest in Lego. It's good to know the future of my favorite company is secure ;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

nottooold, how much was the dumptruck?

Gravatar
By in United States,

dhaas06:

There's only one superstore that barely changes their Lego Aisle: Target.

Well, some Targets at least.

It's kind of dissapointing. Though I have bought Skeleton Tower from there.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was also thinking about Target's and Walmart's Lego Aisles. I was surprised that TRU was still supporting LEGO because of that. Yeah, TRU's are always selling new stuff! LEGO stuff, that is. :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just checked and found these 4 Pirates sets IN STOCK on TRU's website.

Here is the info for the Pirates and a link to follow to TRU.

MONEY SAVING DEALS AT TOYS R US

For those of you who don't know, TRU has a FREE Reward program called Rewardsrus that you can sign up for. It is a loyalty program card that rewards you with a $5 Gift Card for every $150 you spend before Christmas Eve. I know it isn't much but it is better than nothing and can add up to money for free LEGO!

Also, in many of the TRU weekly circulars that are delivered with the Sunday Newspapers there is a coupon for $10 gift card with a $75 purchase. Don't forget the other LEGO sales at TRU as well. TRU is getting their act together in time for the holidays.

They have the LEGO Creator: Street Speeder (6743) Green Car set for '09 in stock for $12.99. They have many of the '09 sets online already, just search for LEGO and they'll come up.

2 sets on sale at the stores and online are the Creator Beach House for $5 off and the LEGO Agents: Mobile Command Center (8635) set for $20 off! I bought both of these sets at my TRU and I believe the sale ends on the 22nd.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

So, the new sets have broken their way into TRU, have they? I have a feeling this means they'll migrate north in a few short weeks... I didn't see anything when I was there yesterday, but I have a VERY good feeling...

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Gravatar

By in United States,

hey so are star wars sets coming before next year like pirates? Or is it just pirates?

Gravatar
By in United States,

You can find some of the sets on ToysRus.com. They have the Kraken Attacking, Loot Island, Ship Wreck Island, and the 5.99 set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't know about our TRU, but I'm glad that they at least brought back the yellow people. The 'realistic' skin tone was grating on my eyes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think it has been used in anything movie related since the Spiderman 2, Harry Potter 3 and Star Wars Falcon 2 era. Star Wars, Harry Potter, Spider Man, Batman, The Formula one real-life ferrari Drivers set, Avatar, and Indy. Everything else has always been yellow, except for the origional Bespin Lando and non-humans. And mummies.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Now at Toysrus, Soilders fort.

Gravatar
By in United States,

In some states , but you can get it on their website.

Gravatar
By in United States,
