Miss out on the Space Slug set? Here are the instructions
Posted by Huw,
Michiel at bouwsteentjes.info has posted scans of the instructions which will enable those of you who didn't get an Escape the Space Slug set on Saturday to gather the parts and build one for yourself.
If you're wondering whether to bother, look out for CapnRex101's review soon.

Thanks !! I can't wait to gather my spare parts and build this :-D
I'll be honest, I like this kind of exclusive set, because, even though I am a Star Wars Lego fan and I don't own this set, I have no desire at all to own it either. I like it because it's not an essential set, and it doesn't include an essential figure.
It was just nice to get something back from all this money I'm giving to TLG and Disney. Especially the latter, I suspect, in view of the inflated prices for Star Wars sets now. I doubt that I will ever break the seal on the Slug box though because it doesn't fit with what I currently build or MOC.
Where was this available?
@leetshoe This was a giveaway for VIP invitees to the April 30th shopping event at LEGO Brand Stores who spent over $150 on Star Wars products.
It looks like a very cool set!
@leetshoe: This was a special give away for VIP´s on April 30th. If you have spent over 125€ for Lego (Star Wars, City, Ideas...) you receive this set together with a poster and a special Print (on heavy Paper). There where only as much Set´s as VIP´s invited to the Event (max. per Store 28 Person). If a VIP didn´t come to the event, they have to send back the Set to TLC. As far I know world wide 3.500 Set´s were given away to VIP´s.
These sets were first made available to RLUG members. If you're not in a RLUG, this is another good reason to join one. Find the closest one to you at https://lan.lego.com/lugs
^ Absolutely. The Brickset forum constitutes a RLUG for this purpose so there's no excuse not to join one.
A neat enough MOC, thanks for the instructions.
That's cool. Built it in LDD this morning. :D
Lovely little set, nice to have 3 of these kinds of sets so far- hopefully they will continue for a few more years. I've created a wishlist on brickowl http://www.brickowl.com/wishlist/view/burkie/star-wars-space-slug if anyone is interested in picking up the parts, total came to €28 which isn't so bad.
@Huw - is that still for EU only, or worldwide now?
I checked the site, and there aren't any LUGs close to my area. How would one find information on what is required to start and register one?
I like how they made this set not include anything exclusive, makes it less of a pain in the neck for those without access to it.
Same as basically everybody above me. It's nice to see an exclusive set with presumably an exclusive box that'll give it value, but parts-wise is more or less easily accessible to the general public.
Strange this set. I am a Lego VIP, RLUG member, and usually get all the appropriate newsletters from Lego. But I have never heard anything about this set, nor did I get an invite to that event.
Quite annoying, as I would have definitely found something interesting to buy in that price range.
:-(
@AustinPowers: We got an event invite via our RLUG ambassador - talk to yours, if you did not..
@marook: thank you for the info. I could try that, but I guess it's no use crying over spilled milk, as the chance is gone anyway.
Really annoying! Every year they use my birthday as a major selling day for Star Wars Lego and do they send me a Lego fan and fan of Star Wars anything? Nope just like I didn't seem to spend enough to have got a valentine a few years ago! Grrr
Im glad I got mine, its staying in the box until i feel like parting with it which would be never lol
@Huw - Joining one is by invite only though.
Unless I'm missing something.
Is there a way to download these instructions?
