70326 The Black Knight Mech revealed
Posted by TheBrickPal,
Jacob_9821 on Eurobricks has yet again revealed another retailer exclusive set today, the final known one for the summer: 70326 The Black Knight Mech.
The set is based off of the mecha suit built and piloted by the young Robin Underwood late in the first season of the Nexo Knights television series. It looks very similar in style to 70327 The King's Mech but noticeably sleeker. For minifigures, it includes Robin of course (with new armor), as well as a Squirebot and lava monsters Ash Attacker and Whiparella; the latter of which is exclusive to the set with Whips of Fear and all! Also in the set are a Squirebot trap, a little flying vehicle for Whiparella, and three Nexo Powers.
According to BZPower's report from the New York Toy Fair, it will cost $39.99 for 530 pieces and will be available in August.
Will you be purchasing it? Read on after the break for both a photo of the box art and the mech as it appears in the TV show.

Nice! I wasn't sure what to expect from this set but it certainly meets my expectations. ^_^ It's cool that Robin gets a totally new costume. Not entirely pleased with the mech's torso (which is a lot boxier-looking than that of the King's Mech). The value generally seems good, though. Definitely on my wish list!
Not too bad. As someone who didn't take too kindly to the arrival of NK at first, I think this is one of the standout NK sets alongside The King's Mech. Both have good piece counts and are very appropriate applications of the futuristic Knights theme that NK is. The coloring on this set does smack of lazy piece reuse though. What's all that blue doing on a *black* knight?
Apart from the fact there's a lot of blue (which if you go by the screen appearance of the mech, should not even be there, most of the blue bits do have a black version too!), I love this set! Whiparella, yes please. And there's what appears to be a hover horse for the lava monsters in the set too (though adapted to fit Whiparella's tail admittedly), which considering I just set up an NK vs Lava Monster jousting arena is quite a coincidence. Overall, it's a must buy for me despite the blue!
So, I guess now we're just waiting for pics of Airjitzu Battle Grounds...
@kakyoin & @TheOneVeyronian: Without the blue it would be difficult to tell which faction it's aligned with. Frankly, I think this color scheme is a big improvement on the color scheme in the show for that reason (in addition to just being generally more dynamic than a mostly monochrome color scheme would've been).
I hadn't even realized that Whiparella's vehicle is basically an evil hover-horse! Pretty neat! Though I don't really think the white skull fits with the overall bad guy aesthetic for Nexo Knights. Wish a recolor had been an option there.
Looks great, good for fans of the series.
I like the sword and minifigures but the mech looks too similar to 70327 The King's Mech for my taste.
^ yeah. It's also weird that it has blue highlights when it looks completely black in the reference picture. But despite both those things...DANG! It looks good.
I must say I really love the bad guys and most of their sets in the theme, but the Knights sets are really lacking.
A black knight should be black...
Massively disappointing. Its not got enough black Lego pieces - and it very apparent when compared to its appearance in the show. I get the idea of making it look like it fits in, but if its called the 'Black Knight' then i expect black to be it primary colour.
When you said Black Night I thought;
"What are you going to do? Bleed on us?" ;)
"Come here and I'll bite your head off!'
Looks pretty plain. I won't get this.
I thought this set might make me jump into the theme, why is it so blue? Pretty Disappointed.
I bit too much blue, but i like it a lot anyway! Cool set, hope to get it soon :-)
Really, considering that part of the focus in the introductory episode for this mech is how the alignment of the pilot is ambiguous, making it blue just to make it obvious which faction it belongs to is really stupid. Most kids would probably assume it's on the good guys' side just because it's fighting lava monsters anyway.
It's nice, but I like the King's Mech better so I think this one might not go on my wanted list unless I end up with a serious imbalance of bad guys to good guys - which is a risk because, as has been pointed out, the bad guy sets do tend to be cooler in this range.
Needs a Shrubbery
Perhaps we'll see the Black Knight in more episodes, where it will sport the more-blue color scheme.
It's revealed pretty quickly that The Black Knight is actually Robin. It reminds me a lot of the Samurai Mech in Ninjago: initially the pilot was a mystery to the viewers, and then gradually revealed to be Nya to the characters.
That's one awesome mecha. Might be my... er, second... NK set. :D
I love the look of the monster hover horse. The mech is not very accurate, and it looks like a very basic but still cool design. The sword, shield, and mask are the real perks it seems... I'll still get this set but with quite a few modifications like placing the minifig shield on the chest as in the King's Mech, and changing all the blue parts to black.
Looks great! I really didn't like the look of the NK theme at first, but I've been slowly coming round to it and there's a fair few sets I'd like to get my hands on (i.e. all of them)!
I haven't bitten the bullet yet, but I don't imagine it being too long before these pesky Sci-fi-Knights empty my wallet - especially with 70321: General Magmar's Siege Machine of Doom and 70323: Jestro's Volcano Lair on the way!!
The builds for Whiparella’s lavafied-necro-hover-horse and the Black Knight’s mech-sword have me *nearly* sold on the set.
Like a few others have mentioned, the only thing that’ll keep me from getting it is all that blue. It’s not that it looks bad, I just feel like I’d be getting “Another Nexo Knight Mech” and not a “Black Knight Mech.”
I’ll make my final decision when better pics of the box and set come out.
Grats to Robin though. ; )
@xboxtravis7992: The episode in which this mech first appears does actually include the quote "It's only a mech wound..." :P
Very disappointed that this set doesn't look more like the Black Knight from the cartoon. Was eagerly anticipating this set, but now that I see what it looks like I may just buy the King's Mech instead.
@xboxtravis7992 @Aanchir it also loses all its limbs in the tv show ;-)
While I do like some of the minifigs (esp the bad guys moreso than the good guys), NK has just failed to grab me, I don't feel it's a particularly inspired theme, just a generic hybrid.
A pretty poor replica of the TV show version even outside of the colour changes IMO. I suppose when you look at it being black and orange primarily, you'd be forgiven for thinking it's part of Jestro's army at first glance and if you didn't know better and I guess the colour change is to help the uninitiated in that regard. The figure selection and mini builds make it more appealing for me and it's a likely purchase when part of a deal for me regardless of my feelings about the main model.
I have one little boy that's going to flip out for this one. He loves the Black Knight episode!
Look at that bad guy's steed though. Such a nice addition!
