Celebrate Batman Day with a new The LEGO Batman Movie poster

Posted by ,

Today, to celebrate Batman Day which began in 2014 with the 75th anniversary of the character's comic debut, Warner Bros. Pictures has released a brand new poster for The LEGO Batman Movie (in theaters February 10, 2017).

It reminds you to always be yourself... unless you can be Batman, of course!

What do you think? Excited?

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made The LEGO Movie a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure: The LEGO Batman Movie. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.

This was the advice my dad would give me growing up.

"He maaaaybe will lighten up!" But then who would be deadpan and brooding in The Lego Movie 2? Note there's no mention of Robin coming under his wing, despite the fact that he was advertised extensively in prior material. Now it's all about The Joker's hostile takeover. Sounds interesting though, can't be any weirder than pimpin' Joker from Suicide Squad.

Batman first appeared in Detective Comics 27 (May 1939) and the first Batman comic was Spring 1940. So, it's been over 77 years since his comic debut.

^Correct. That's why it said starting in 2014 for the 75th anniversary...which would mean 2 years later it is 77 years.

As far as the need for a new movie poster, I guess so. I already want to see the movie and buy all of the sets, so they don't need much convincing for me, outside of maybe lowering the prices a bit.
