Batman Movie sets revealed ahead of NYCC

Hey look! More amazing sets I'll never have! *sigh* anyway, these look great!

My favorite is what looks like a Billy Dee Williams style Two-face! :) Best looking Arkham yet, and same goes for that Batcave. I fear for the price of the Arkham set...

Normally, I have very strong feelings against batman (I'm a marvel man), but these are actually pretty good looking. Depending on the price, I might pick a few up. Doesn't look like many low-cost sets though.

are those minifig penguins rather than brick built ??

The penguins seem to be the ones from the latest collectible Minifigures series, the Polar Explorer / Photographer. They're a single piece but have a stud on the back. Though here with red eyes.

I see Aaron Cash on the Arkham Asylum set, molded penguins on the Bat Cave and a henchman with a fine mustache on that ice robot. Oh and Alfred and Bruce Wayne in that cave, not my alley although I do appreciate the Arkham Asylum front build.

Is the bow tie neck piece new? I see it comes in both black (for Bruce) and white (for Alfred) in the batcave/Penguin set.

I'm surprised no one else hasn't mentioned this, but holy crap that new umbrella piece on the Penguin is sick!

All of these look incredible, can't wait for the rest! That Batcave is incredible, and Arkham Asylum can just take my money now. Mr Freeze set still holds up, but let's not pretend like it's the star of the show or anything. I mean, just look at the architecture on Arkham! Hopefully the back holds up just as well, although to be honest I wouldn't really care; the front just looks so good. Looks like no matter what form they take, superhero sets are coming out on top!

Loving the penguins! Batcave reminds me of 7783 in terms of the cave itself.

The arkham set looks like it will be pricey, given the number of minifigures included.

That Arkham Asylum is looking great! Both the building and the figures look to be a lot of fun. Like portions of each of the other sets.

OMG, and I don`t even care for Batman but I REALLY NEED these!! So many cool pieces and the Arkham Asylum is just perfect!

Loving the bat cave. Not sure about the big grey blocks in the base of the Arkham Asylum set. The Mr. Freeze mech isn't really doing it for me. So far my favourite set is still the Joker's lowrider.

Ten figures - TEN! - with the new Arkham Asylum! Plus a statue figure. It's gonna be costly. I like the design, but I like the previous Arkhams too, kinda miss the front gate in this one, it's the iconic entrance that always evokes a sense of foreboding any time I see it introducing scenes of the asylum in any depiction of the setting.

I think all three of these look absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, I probably won't be getting the Bat Cave or Arkham Asylum due to the price (although I may just have to give into the Arkham Asylum. Hmmm...) but the Mr. Freeze model will be a must have! I just love that mech!! Looking forward to seeing many other gems from this movie!

I love all of the escaped convict figures from the asylum, superhero figs are the best.
Thought the one in the middle was Finn from star wars at first then realised he had a hook hand.

I'm not a huge fan of a lot of the redesigns for the movie, but that Arkham build looks nice and the sheer number of minifigs is amazing. And the Batcave.. I love Alfred and tuxedo Bruce, but OMG those Batsuits are AMAZING!

I like the quarter circle water melon pieces. Although I guess they've been in other sets, this is the first I've seen them.

I don't like this arkham nearly as much as the last one. Might get it and sell all the figures though. I like the batcave much better. The boat and the batmobile we've seen have something delightfully retro about them that is drawing me in.

Is that Maersk Blue being used in these sets? (Cop car in Arkham, batcave's computer,etc)

@tallblocktoo, are you sure about those prices. Arkham Asylum has approximately the same piece count of the previous version and is $10 cheaper 4 years later? Hummm...

@Rpennock: Looks to me like Medium Blue for Mr. Freeze and his mech, and either Medium Blue or Light Royal Blue (Bright Light Blue) for the police car. Pastel Blue (Maersk Blue) is no longer produced, not even for Maersk sets, because they've changed their corporate color to something closer to the LEGO Group's Medium Azur.

Thanks Aanchir for the insight. Must be the very light blue.. I don't think I have any of that in my collection, or not a significant amount anyways.
Looks different in the photos than the medium blue I'm more accustomed.

I have a thing for mechs of any kind, so a mech with Mr Freeze is PERFECT!! When are these released?

Release Date? January 1st I presume?

That Arkham looks about half the size of the previous one.
But with more figures I reckon the price will be comparable with the previous one, plus about 20%,
so £150-ish in the UK, which is far too much.
Maybe TLG will surprise me and price this at £100?

That Arkham looks great and the Batcave looks good too but the Mr. Freeze one looks really thrown together and hap hazard to me.

@bluedragon I just copied it from the article that Aanchir had linked. Another post above mine posts the same prices as well. Seemed a little low to me as well for all those figures and build.

*Drools* These builds look great compared to most superhero sets. Really excited to see what else is in store. I will admit though the freeze set is a bit underwhelming but thats fine since it's probably the smallest set. It looks like we get our first Barbara Gordon minifigure in the arkham set! So hyped.

That's nuts that you get four different types of Batman (plus Bruce Wayne) in a single set. And 13 figs in Arkham - that's almost an entire CMF series!

@Venunder: The new Arkham costs $150 USD (less than 10937), so is unlikely to cost £150 GBP. Probably going to be more like £120 or £130.

@ZeeBricks: The Mr. Freeze set and the Batcave will be released November 27th, while Arkham will be released January 1st.

Does this mean the batmobile and joker's low rider will release on Nov 27 too?

They REALLY went all-out for these... the minifigs are incredibly wacky and there are loads of them, I really like the vehicles, and the buildings are solid. Not terribly exciting, but solid, and the Batcave is easily the best version out there.

Anybody else see any new parts? I see 3 red macaroni tubes in the Mr. Freeze set, a folded-up umbrella, an orange version of the inverted half arch, a new hand pieces on the Freeze mecha, there's probably more...

They look pretty good. But where is the Batwing?

The Batcave is pretty nice, but the boat is not too Bat-ish to me. There are also some areas that seem a bit lame with not too much interaction, but I might be wrong.

Arkham is inferior to the last one I think. It is a good set, but the gothic architecture of the last version was almost on par with the modulars. This one is a good playset but seems more basic. Oh and Chief Wiggums police car recycling..

Mr Freeze is a nice set but also not for me I guess.

Looking forward to the collectable minifig collection! So far Batcave and lowrider might be a good choice for me.

If I bought DC comics sets I'd be over these in a rash - generally good builds and some great new moulds, although mostly for minifigures/characters and accessories. I wish the Batcave came with the Batwing, but I'll have a Batcave anyway when I get the Dimensions Story Pack!

Wonder if this means we're in line for a Star Wars preview soon?

The Bat-cave seems odd (and very bit-sy), but I love the new Arkham. It's gorgeous, but man, in Australia, that is gonna be *pricey*. The figure with the top hat ... is that the Riddler (who sometimes wears a bowler hat as part of his costume), or are we finally getting a Mat Hatter minifig? That'd be great.

Sigh, yes, ok, these are pretty good but they're just rehashes of existing sets. Is your design department so chronically poor that this is the pinnacle of their vision?

When these come out, it will have been 5 years since the last Batcave (6860) came out and 4 years since the last Arkham (10937) set, and Mr Freeze in a mech suit hasn't been done before.

While I love these sets and will get all of them (just like I did with The LEGO Movie), it is kind of sad to see that LEGO designers are still recycling ideas instead of coming up with new ones. I mean, isn't the GCPD car an exact copy of the Simpsons' car from 71006?

Can anyone explain to me why it seems that Penguin of all the villains seems to find his way into the Batcave more often than the others?

Whilst I've been shying away from the SH theme, I must admit that some of the minifigs look very nice. I definitely prefer the last version of the Arkham building. I'm not feeling the big grey bases on this one, but still, easy to mod eh? Is the "Window 1 x 4 x 1 2/3 with Spoked Rounded Top" http://brickset.com/parts/design-20309 the first to get the new black colour?

The whole Arkham Asylum set looks fantastic, both the build and the figures. I'm into Marvel rather than DC, but this one is tempting. Also, not being D2C it is quite possible to be discounted later on, even though its TRU exclusivity might get in the way...

Look fun to me, though I do hope we get a Robin minifigure in a cheaper set too, it'd be awful if he was only available in the biggest set.

I too thought that was Finn at Arkham; thought maybe he was making a cameo in the movie and that he was in the asylum because he was crazy for leaving the Empire and join the Rebels.

My only criticism is that the Bat Cave needs more killer penguins.

Lando Two-Face? AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!! They got Billy De for Lando in the Lego movie, how awesome would it be if they got him for Two-Face in the Lego Batman movie!!!!!!!!!!

The privious Asylum was a great build and setup. There was only one reason I pass that by - a grey color dominated. No doupt, grey color seems always serious, realistic, intensive. But, for me, there are much too much grey builds on Lego's list (most Star Wars vehicles, LotR, King's Castle, Vampyre Castle, .. ) . That is why i appriciate sets like Modular (e.g. Detective's Office), Diagon Alley, Temple of Airjitzu, etc. - So this next Asylum set catch my eyes by enjoyment. Even without a delight poision evy; definitive a buy!

Wow these are absolutely fantastic! That Mr Freeze mech is actually really cool. The vehicles in the batcave set are very well designed! The Arkham set is nice but gets worse the further you go up in the building. Minifigs are awesome and I'm loving Alfred and Bruce Waine's ties! There are such a wide range of minifigures in these sets, that I'm not sure a collectable minifigure series is even necessary.

I LOVE that old police car in Arkham Aslyum! Looks to be a '85 Crown Vic. Arkham's definite buy for me. Another gaping hole in my wallet. *sigh*

I must be in the minority. These sets aren't doing it for me. I loved and bought all the previous LEGO movie sets. But these look mediocre. Will pass.

Perhaps I am spoilt since I have the original Arkham and if I was to spend any money on LEGO Batman I would rather buy the equally lackluster UCS Batcave that does have super minifigs and the 1960s bat mobile.

So glad I didn't buy the previous Arkham, I like this asylum much better. Waiting to see what the back/inside looks like.

Still gutted I missed out on 10937 Arkham Asylum Breakout, but the new Arkham Asylum will make me feel a bit better about it!

These are all must haves. I can't wait to extend the batsuit selector to include every single batman figure I own. I'm going to need some more tank treads.

I am getting the first 2 sets (batman and joker vehicles). They look awesome. But still undecided about these 3 sets. I prefer the earlier Arkam Asylum actually. I'll probably get them in a sale.

Lego Batman Movie or Rogue one? Which are better?
