30522 Batman in the Phantom Zone revealed
Posted by TheBrickPal,Well, this is unexpected... the set pictured, 30522 Batman in the Phantom Zone, is the first revealed 2017 (and The LEGO Batman Movie) polybag.
It does look pretty cool though, and raises a few questions about the plot of the film. I wonder how it will be distributed, and when? Sound off your opinion in the comments below!
Update: the image has been removed at the request of LEGO.

I hope Robin comes in a polybag too, because the cost of these sets will bankrupt me.
What an interesting device or weapon. It looks so menacing!
I think that contraption is left over from the Galaxy Quest crash.
From what I know, the Phantom Zone is a Kryptonian prison. It has recently been featured in the first season of the CW's Supergirl TV show and served as the major source of supervillains for that season. Perhaps this means we will be seeing a number of Supergirl/Superman villains in the LEGO Batman Movie? That would certainly be interesting. I'm sure there are a number of characters that many people are still wanting to have in minifigure form (myself included).
Movie speculation aside, this looks to be a nice little polybag. I really like the whole spiky, robot-y vibe it's got going on. I do wonder what those trans-blue bars are for though.
It looks cool. I wonder if we'll see it in the movie.
That's the strangest blob of pieces I've ever seen.
What's "the phantom zone"?

That looks sweet. A very menacing looking drone... Thing. And a cheap way to get movie Batman. I'll definitely be on the watch for this one.
The Phantom Zone is the prison where General Zod was sent... hm...
I quite like that little device.
It may mean nothing as some sets based on a movie license end up being inaccurate, Dilophosaurus Ambush anyone? That said this looks like a Phantom Zone drone with the three 1x1 transparent red round flat tiles in the middle being sensors and the blue sticks being electric batons with the two spears as an additional weapon. Perhaps something happens in the movie that either sees Superman trapped (again) in the PZ and Batman (again) goes with the heroes to save him or the PZ launches an invasion on Lego City.
Thai beer on tap?
Man... when the polybags look good, you know you're in for a great set line-up...
Solid way to get bat man
@Lordmoral: I think there's a stark difference between a movie that is merely licensed by Lego (like Jurassic World, Star Wars, and pretty much any Lego theme) and one that is created with Lego's full cooperation (like The Lego Movie, The Lego Batman Movie, and the Lego Ninjago Movie). It's not impossible that a set could be designed based on a scene that gets cut in a late stage of development, but it's far, far less likely when the set designs and the movie itself are being made hand in hand.
Does look like a pretty good polybag. Some of them is meh to me. However, this onw actually looks pretty cool
Looks worth picking up! is that robot based on something in the comics?
The new micromanagers? Or a one off? Looks funky in a cool way.
Zeebricks, I'm not sure. I don't get to buy comics very often. Does look cool. I kind of agree with supervir2 with the fact it looks like a micromanager. Also does look funky in a good way
We see the entire Justice League in the movie trailer. It makes sense that there's a plot device to bring them together and something from the Phantom Zone would fit the bill.
Seeing an awful lot of this new Batman with utility belt. That variant will be almost worthless by the time all the sets are released.
Awww I didn't get to see it. :(
Lego needs to stop being so strict with their images. }:^(
For anyone who missed the image (as I did), Google is your friend.
But be prepared for disappointment when you see it. All the praise for that drone-thing is utterly inexplicable.
UGH. Got a copyright strike on YouTube because of this.
