Even more Batman Movie sets revealed
Posted by TheBrickPal,
Four The LEGO Batman Movie sets make their official release in North America on November 27th. However, if you are lucky you may be able to find them in some Target stores early!
fordtruckin on Eurobricks has purchased some of these sets already and has shown that there are images of heretofore unrevealed sets in the instruction booklets.
70904 Clayface Splat Attack is one and includes Batman (of course), the Mayor of Gotham, and a brickbuilt Clayface; the villain's debut in LEGO form! You can also catch 70910, featuring a Scarecrow pizza delivery, after the break; as well as it combined with other sets to form a full Ace Chemicals model.

Neat!
I like them, but it's 100% depends on cost.
clayface looks awesome, even if those stumpy legs are ridiculous. I wonder just how posable his mouth is, since its built with hinged pieces and all. can you turn his frown upside down?
Hopefully this means we'll have pictures of the other few soon. I'm still excited for Riddler's car!
Been waiting for a clayface for a while and this model looks amazing
Seriously, I've just been waiting for the brickbuilt invaders from Planet Duplo from the end of the original movie to make their move. But this will do!
Could TLG possibly have a Batman set that DOESN'T include Batman? I mean, there aren't that many variants and the differences are maybe only discernible to the true aficionados. They could have more henchmen or another villain instead. I've only a few DC sets because I'm tired of every set having yet another Bat-vehicle (-mobile, -copter, -boat) and yet another Batman. How about more like 70906: The Joker Notorious Lowrider - just villains and their crazy vehicle or hideout? I don't want to buy any more sets that have half or more of the pieces dedicated to another Bat-something! And always in BLACK!
Still no Ares from the DC line......
"I don't want to buy any more sets that have half or more of the pieces dedicated to another Bat-something! And always in BLACK!"
And sometimes really -really- dark grey
micano: Lego is still a toy primarily for children, and unlike us, a child only gets so many sets in a year. Therefore, a Lego Batman movie based Batman set essentially needs Batman. A kid who just saw the movie will want the main hero, and maybe his parents aren't about to buy him multiple sets, so sets that don't have Batman could have far lower sales.
I have been checking the lego batman movie thread on eurobricks for the past month now, and was pleasantly surprised when I discovered these two images this morning (not to mention the additional photos of the Mr Freeze set which one lucky member managed to get from Target) and am glad brickset has picked up on them eventually.
However, I dislike the Clayface set and the Scarecrow set just seems boring. I still want the joker balloon, Mr freeze and Batcave sets though.
I was just wondering about when we'd see the first Lego Clayface images, and apart from those legs he's looking great! I'm so hyped for these! Also, does anyone know if there's a Clayface minifigure included apart from the brick built one?
Yes, yes, yes!!!! Finally a lego clayface! The scarecrow set is kind of meh, but ill get it to build that ace chemicals
Have Lego done this before - combine 3 sets to make one larger 'set' (other than the fact it's Lego so all you need is some imagination!) I guess we have the 2 in 1 technic pullbacks, but I cant think of any othets. I really like the idea, it reminds me of the old days of alternate build pics, except I assume we get actual instructions now.
Great idea to combine sets to form a super build. It's incentive to buy all the sets in the theme. However, since Lego is suggesting you need to buy all the sets, why reproduce Batman in each one? Put him in the cheapest set only I say. Clayface looks great BTW.
@leonC the most recent Pirates line did this, they were designed to be connected side by side to form a somewhat cohesive model. It was very cool.
@leonC, the old Harry Potter sets combined as well, as did the newer Hogwarts and also the Helms Deep set and Uruk Hai army. I'm really glad they're doing this again, it brings back fond memories :)
I haven't liked too many of these sets ... but oh my gosh, Clayface.
@leonC LEGO have done this some times before. I have combined sets of Jabba's Palace with the Rancor Pit and another two from LOTR of the Battle at Helm's Deep.
I see people complain about Batman in every set but he's really the only 'basic figure' in this theme. Other figures have dual molded arms or legs, exclusive face prints or side arm/leg prints and exclusive molded hair pieces! All very welcome new stuff. I also applaud LEGO for including generic people like the police man, the fire fighter and the (female!) mayor in their sets. It's always nice to get new people apart from the ones that get used over and over again.
EDIT: Forgot to comment on the sets themselves. I think I'll buy Clayface when he comes out. I loved the animation on his first episode in Batman The Animated Series and have been a fan of his character ever since. The smaller sets are pretty 'meh' to me, mini figures aside.
Wow, Clayface is great! Generally I like the sets for this movie a lot, and the idea of connecting several is great.
Has anyone checked their Targets/Walmart/Toys R Us for these yet?
These Lego Batman Movie sets are shaping up to be some of the best of the year. Creative, fun and a little bit zany. And the combo build is just a pleasure to see. More of this across all themes please TLG!
Just as a tip the first 3 D.C. Super hero girls are on Toys R Us.com to order now.
Clayface looks great, wonder if there will be a polybag version of him in the near future.
Dang Clayface is awesome.
Is the pizza guy Scarecrow?
These are great :)
I like the effort they put into to Clayface but I'd prefer one that looks like Clayface from Arkham City.
Scarecrow looks terrible.
I have a hard time identifying clayface color? Medium dark flesh?
70910 is a perfect storm of complete and total silliness. I love the combination feature too.
Clayface... geez. I'm not familiar with the character, but I'll only get him if he's suitably poseable...
I'll be getting the Clayface set. But as a big Scarecrow fan, I am completely disappointed in the Pizza Delivery outfit.
I was hoping it'd be a cheap way to get a Scarecrow, but I guess not (and I'm not a big fan of the design from the Harvest of Fear set or whatever it's called).
Oh well, at least we're getting a good Clayface and Freeze, among others.
My local Target has all 4 November releases. Got them all yesterday.
@PicnicBasketSam: Judging from the pic he appears to have around seven points of articulation, at least six of which are ball joints. That's a pretty good number — less than some other brick-built figures like Sparkks, Burnzie, Groot, and the Sentinel, but the same number as a minifigure and considerably more than a typical "bigfig".
I absolutely love how textured Clayface is! It makes great use of studs at many different angles, curved slopes, and rocky wedge slopes to create a drippy and amorphous look. The biggest downside I see is that it would take some major rebuilding to make him smile as he does in his appearance from the trailers (and in fact, on closer examination, there might be some cheating involved with that animated version). But even so, the designer of this set did an amazing job making Clayface feel truly unique and delivering a unique building experience.
The Scarecrow set is fairly bizarre. Due to his disguise, Scarecrow doesn't feel nearly as iconic as Mr. Freeze and Joker in the corresponding sets. The setting and pizza bike are nice, but without the movie for context feel a bit random — infiltrating an energy building isn't Scarecrow's usual M.O. There's probably something important in the trailer of the pizza bike, but neither of these pics shows it. It is unique and nicely-designed, though, I'll give it that.
These look interesting. It will definitely depend on cost. Clayface looks decent and I like seeing a new Mayor style figure. I really want the pizza stickers/pieces to make a pizzeria, but I could pass on the set otherwise.
I will have to look at Target tonight then. I didn't see anything 2 days ago, but who knows.
Both of the new ones look really nice, in fact, they're probably my two favorites.
I think Clayface looks absolutely terrific!
Yes! So happy! Finally we have Clayface represented in a LEGO set. Looks great, too! I can't believe there are so many sets tied with The LEGO Batman Movie.
LEGO seems to be having a major obsession with Pizza this year!
I was just at TRU last night and unfortunately the do not yet have any of these. :(
I do really want most of them through.
@kinggregus: It appears to be pearl gold to me. I was surprised nobody has mentioned it yet, I might get it just for all those pearl gold pieces.
@leonC: There is also a couple Dol Guldur sets from The Hobbit line that were made to connect, but like you say, I don't know if it's been done with 3 sets combining. I think it's a pretty cool idea and smart, gets people to buy them all.
How about the Life on Mars line? 7313, 7314, and 7316 were made to fit with 7317. Also the Ninja sets from 1998 were largely modular and could be combined.
Clayface looks cool, but I was kind of hoping for a more traditional rendition of Scarecrow, in a cheap set....
Anyone have any thoughts on how much these will cost? (In sterling or dollars)
@willobee498 I get that but almost every set? I like the direction that 70900, 70901, and 70910 are going – only a Batman minifigure and the focus is on the villain and setting. And being able to mix, match, and combine them? I and my kids LOVE that - we'll probably get all three.
Both of these sets look great, with some amazing characters including a brick-built Clayface! In my books, both of these are a must-buy!
I really like the Clayface, going to pick that one up. I agree that the Scarecrow in disguise is an odd choice, but may make more sense in the context of the film, which I'm really looking forward to.
I just hope that we get "housecoat" batman in some form. I had hoped he might come with the Batcave. Maybe a Blu-ray pack exclusive??
@drscottypavarotti is housecoat batman the one with a lobster? If so someone on eurobricks yesterday said that that minifigure was going to be in the cmf (this is only a rumour).
Hi. Yes, hopefully with a lobster. What's the cmf?
@drscottypavarotti Collectable minifigure series, and yes he is rumoured to come with a lobster.
Ah! Thanks. Fingers crossed for that.
A picture of the zebra man minifig has just been discovered over on eurobricks, it looks awesome!
First image of clayface and my impression was .. what??? Second look, hmm I kinda like that, third look - that is awesome. That is one ugly face that grows on you REALLY fast !!!
