The LEGO Batman Movie books from Egmont
Posted by Huw,
Egmont Publishing has just published four The LEGO Batman Movie activity books in the UK that are bound to go down well with kids once they've seen the movie.
I've been sent copies by the publisher to enable me to appraise them and brief you.
Chaos in Gotham City
This is the one that's likely to have the widest appeal thanks to its low price at Amazon at the moment plus the fact it has the Tartan Batman minifig that we reviewed last week mounted on its cover.
The 32-page book is filled with comic strips, mazes, puzzles, and other activities. It's currently just £3.49 at Amazon.co.uk.
Choose Your Super Hero Doodle Activity Book
This one is filled with doodle activities: partially blank pages to colour in or draw on. There's even a sketch of what I presume is the minifig-scale Batwing that's being released in the summer.
This 96-page book is £5.24 at Amazon.co.uk.
Ready, Steady, Stick!
Sticker books are always popular with kids but perhaps not so much with parents once they start affixing them to the furniture and wallpaper...
This one contains over 200: some of which are designed to fill gaps on the page and around 150 colourful yellow ones that can be stuck to books, toys, walls...
It's currently £5.99 at Amazon.co.uk.
I Am Batman! The Dark Knight's Activity Journal
This one, written by Batman himself, details his battles against the villains of Gotham City and is interspersed with drawing activities and games.
There's also a couple of sheets of stickers at the back.
The 64-page paperback is £5.99 from Amazon.co.uk
I won't be reviewing them myself: I'll pass them on to my daughter's friend's 7-year-old son and if I get any feedback I'll let you know. However, I'm confident they'll be well received!
In the USA they are published by Scholastic and will be available later this month. Here's a link to Chaos in Gotham City at Amazon.com ($6.59)

Good selection of books there. I have the first one purely for the figure. £3.49 sainsburys, tesco £3.50.
Really looking forward to this film now, don't think I'll be able to resist getting all the figures available. Unitil they bring out a comic con exclusive of course ??
I got the first one purely for the figure but was pleasantly surprised that my 5 year old daughter is working her way through the book completing all the puzzles etc. £3.50 well spent!
Love the cover of Batman using the selfie stick :)
I have the Chaos in Gotham City book on pre-order from Amazon, I like the Tartan Batman design. I'm glad as a whole we're getting these really bizarre Bat-suit variants for the movie. I'm hoping we get a couple more from the trailers like Reggae-Man, El Mariachi, St Batricks, Winged Avenger and The Batriot.
Will 'Chaos in Gotham City' also be available in The Netherlands?
