I'm conflicted.
Two of the sets look suspiciously similar to Guardians V1 sets that sat on shelves well into the following summer.
That said, Baby Groot!
Oh it's a great thing that he Milano has minifigures that came last time as I am saving the cash on it and getting the other two (Mantis, Yondu, BABY GROOT!!, etc) with figures not seen last time. That Mantis is so going to work on my Hospital and those sets have interesting builds that work as ambient scenes aside from the small ships that serve as civilian transports.
Amazon.co.uk has also listed the retail prices for two of the three sets:
-76079 - Ravager Attack - £19.99
-76080 - Ayesha’s Revenge - {£29.99 Or £34.99}
-76081 - The Milano Vs. The Abilisk - £44.99
I'm guessing the prices will be $20.00 (76079), $30.00 (76080) and $40.00--$50.00 (76081)
That Milano doesn't look as good as the first one to me. It looks a like a MOC.
Groot!
While I'm sure the movie will do big business, these sets seem so uninspired and repetitive.
As a fan of the Guardians, (I actually liked them long before they were cool), I want to get all of these... But the Milano is just a (smaller) rehash, so I'll probably skip it until it's on clearance or something. BABY GROOT!
Also, what's up with the windshield on the Milano?
Edit: Nevermind, it's supposed to look like that.
I was planning on getting the old Milano, but Baby Groot...so I'd better get the new one.
Mantis and Yondu? Cool!
smaller sets with tons of new figures ... GREAT!
a Milano spaceship that got the Quinjet disease (it shrinks a bit every time a new one comes out), I'm happy I got the first one, looks way better than this miniature piece of smaller spaceshipthingy
and yes... BABY GROOT!!!
Since I wasn't able to get the first Milano, this entire wave of sets is welcome, and I would probably get this Milano for Star-Lord, Gamora, and Drax anyways. The Minifigure designs are great for this wave of sets.
Those prices sound suspiciously decent... 50€ for the Milano? The first one was 80€. It looks as though it is slightly smaller and a bit less detailed but, still, great deal!
Ravager attack and Milano looks great too me. Ayesha's revenge, nah, but it uses some interesting pieces. I missed out on Milano so I'll get it (Gamora minifig looks great, and so do all the minifigs). I'm looking forward to see the piece count for the sets... and a close look at BABY GROOT!!
I own the larger Milano, which is fantastic, but this smaller one looks much easier to play with and swoosh--I hope to get all three sets!
i was very excited for these....but they are slightly underwhelming. Nothing really jumps out to me as, "oh that is so awesome I have to get it." I have the 3 sets from vol. 1. These looks very similar.
Love that Star-Lord uses Superman's newer tousled hairpiece in light brown. Which by the way is also used in the Civil War version of Cap. It looks ASTRONOMICALLY (Hehe. See what I did there) better than the first one they used. AND BABY GROOT LOOKS SO AWESOME! TLG really did a good job with him. Finally Yondu as well! Nice.
BABY GROOT!
Yep, need all 3 sets.
Doesn't look like new Marvel sets are even remotely close to last year's wave in terms of overall design. I hope it won't continue with Spider-Man: Homecoming sets because I'll need them anyway.
I like the first two sets a lot, but I want to see the American prices before I decide for sure about getting them. The Milano is pretty meh, so I'm really happy they didn't make BABY GROOT exclusive to that set.
I'm glad that like the first wave of GotG sets these have a much different feel than, say, Star Wars. Much rounder and more colorful in general. I probably won't get any of these sets but some of the parts might be worth Bricklinking.
Figs look pretty darn awesome but the builds less so, definitely agree that the first Milano looks leaps and bounds better (so much so that it's one of the few retail spaceships that I still have on display).
BrianG2402: The prices are: Ravager Attack for $26.72. Ayesha's Revenge for $37.40. And The Milano vs. The Abilisk for $53.43. I did it off of the euro price.
Minifigs aside these sets seem pretty lackluster to me. As already stated 2 of the 3 look very close to the last wave. The only newish set is okay. I'm really not a fan of the "tree part". I hate it when Lego makes small "add ons" It's not very difficult for anyone (child or adult) to build a scene out of Lego, items like this are just a way to put piece counts up to make a higher price point. I'm a dad of two lego fans and the "add on" are generally lost or never used in any way.
Biggest set or star wars a wing? Not really a tough decision
These look awesome. Figs are great as usual. BABY GROOT!
The blue part on the add-on of ravager attack looks pretty spoiler-y.
sweet! I'm really digging the new Rocket... and Baby Groot! Yondu's floaty submarine-thingy is pretty cool, and Ayesha's golden hair! The new Milano may be smaller, but it's way more accurate to the source material than the old one so I don't think it's so bad. As a side note, it kills me that lego just took the same star-lord head they REUSED on the winter soldier, took the hair they used for the most recent mask-less cap, and are now using those two pieces on a so-called UPDATED Star-Lord! That just kills me...
While these photos are really poor quality, the regular blue/orange colour scheme for the Milano looks so much worse compared to the dark blue/yellow that the first one had. I'm fine with it being (apparently) smaller, but the changed colour scheme really kills it for me.
@Professor X
What's wrong with reusing minifig parts if the parts in question are accurate?
I'm confused. The prices here seem strange to me. On this article it says that Ravager Attack costs 20 Euro, but in the set details for the set it says 25, and Ayesha's revenge has gone up 5 Euro there, too. What is the right prices?
No interest in these personally, but the Milano looks nice... the alien thing looks like the Sarlaac pit from Star Wars.
Casper_van_hobbes. In the second trailer we can see that the Milano crashes, as well as in the Drax bit, where he says, and I quote: "Screw you, spaceship!" It's not that big of a reveal.
Hmm, this seems right up my alley. Dang, Lego has some good sets this year. Oh well, I'd love to get some of these
Brilliant! Tho yes the Milano does look smaller and hence less detailed.
Can't wait!
The prices seem far too cheap. I'm thinking, $25, $40 and $60.
I really like this Milano, having missed out on getting the old one (damn Walmart selling used sets.) I very much like the studs vs the Technic pieces. That said the orange looks REALLY bad, so bad that I might not buy it or will have to change the pieces out for yellow ones, which is currently impossible.
Bit dear for what they are, but nice looking models. I must get around to actually seeing the first GotG before this new one comes out!
If Baby Groot is small enough maybe he will have a spare as well.
@BrianG2402
Nothing's wrong I guess, I just found the situation I was talking about funny (though in my opinion, that head looks nothing like Chris Pratt, and not that much like Sebastian Stan either).
As a huge Guardians of the galaxy fan, who got all the sets last time, I'll get these three too, but only at a discount. And that colour scheme for the milano is hideous, imho. The first milano was a brilliant set, imho.
There are a lot of spoilers in the Amazon UK description of the Milano. Feel like I don't need to see the movie now.
"Make a splash with Andrea and Martina as they whizz down the slide and into the pool! spring off the diving board, practice some lengths and then head over to the swim-up bar for a cold drink. Chill out in the hot tub and relax with a newspaper on the day bed. Freshen up in the restroom, or take a refreshing shower behind the aquarium. This is where the Heartlake city friends come to have fun in the sun!"
I want all of these. BABY GROOT!
Really good prices especially for the Milano. I would get that.
Potential spoiler in "Ravager Attack" set. Loved the first movie and those sets, still have the Milano assembled while so many others have been disassembled and integrated into the "general populace". Can't wait for the next movie and these sets!
Who is mantis?
That Milano is awful compared to the original and has shrunk in the wash! Ayesha's revenge will be my only buy in this range.
Brainslugged: That is the description? That's from this set 41313: Heartlake Summer Pool from LEGO friends not from Guardians of the Galaxy. Oh Amazon UK and their typo errors.
Anyway, the only sets I will be getting is Ravagers attack and the Milano because
1. I didn't have their minifigures since 2014 and...
2. The milano itself
Brainslugged slugged my brain.
I'm happy the Milano is cheaper (and has a half decent bad guy thing) now, but... I will always love my beautiful '14 Milano up on my shelf...
Also, Ayesha's revenge would make a GREAT submarine!
Yeah, I thought something looked a bit off about the spaceships. They've all shrunk from the last round.
I'll Bricklink baby Groot and Mantis, and skip the sets, I think.
All these look great, but I've got to get Ayesha's Revenge!
Baby Groot!!!
Whoa! I wasn't expecting that.
I really want to use those pink tentacles with some of the purple foliage from the Elves line for some crazy, Seussian landscapes now...
Wow. I think these are great! Good value, excellent minifigure selections, fun builds. The new Milano is probably the weak spot in all this, but I missed the old one, so I don't mind that there's now a cheaper version. I know most people don't like the mini-Quinjet, but it's not difficult to modify it into fitting a bunch of figures in the back... if this one is the same way, so be it! An interesting challenge! That tentacle monster is terrific though. I need that.
Also, putting Rocket and Groot into the cheaper sets is a brilliant move on LEGO's part.
Wait a sec... it looks like the 2 Baby Groots have different printing... cool!
I think the sets could be better, like the 2014 wave. I don't see myself buying any of them. It won't be this time I'll have a Starlord figure.
Here's my opinion on the sets
Ravager Attack: Small, kinda weird, but cool, think I'll buy that one
Asheya's Revenge: Ok, weird submarine thigey. Minifgs are decent. Drone is kind of odd. Gold Lady anyone? Might buy
Milano: The first one looks better. Even though this might be more accurate, it looks like a flying totem head to me. Minifigs are decent. Weird Sarlacc pit thing. Might buy on a discount for a very good reason
@Brick Knight. I think you see Mantis in the latest trailer at the end. For further information, it seems she can communicate with plants as well as sense other's emotions. She also knows pretty nice martial arts, according to my book ( Marvel: Avengers: Ultimate Character Guide)
How much do we reckon that Brexit will inflate those prices for those of us in the UK???
Why is the spaceship named after an Italian city?
@Yooha, the ship is actually named after Alyssa Milano, who was a childhood crush of Star Lord's.
I watched Guardians of the Galaxy last night, and I think the new coloring (and canopy) of the Milano is a lot closer to the film. Star Lord even describes his ship as "blue and orange".
Soooo glad I got the first Milano. This one looks Knowhere near as good.
But I do like that canopy, and Baby Groot is Baby Groot.
hmm. Good point. Might get the sets. Defiantly like the smallest one. Submarine thing looks decent. Milano looks good. but does suffer from the quinjet issue
Is the green in the cockpit of the dark tan vehicle in Ayesha's Revenge a new color?
when the original Milano set's biggest problem was that groot couldn't fit inside... so they make it even smaller.
The backs of the boxes were released too. This new Milano still seats four in the front, somehow... so it probably could be modded to fit more.
Submarine thing has a lot going on inside. I like it much more now, that'll be the one I get first... and the smaller one doesn't have anything we haven't seen. No interesting features at all. Although it does have Rocket and Mantis.
Glad I bought the original Milano set. Will likely get the one set with Yondu and baby Groot for the figures.
btw, anyone know anything about the inside of the submarine thing? I would like to know, as it might help my decision
